I did some calling this morning, S.C., Ga, Al, Ms, and La. After talking to State level, county level and then to cities. Neither level stated to have more Police today than they did 12 to 16 yrs ago. Many had far less to the point some cities were being protected by Country Sheriff Office instead. I can't stand either candidate, but, if being a POW is McCain's huge selling point, then, I'm not buying.
I would never choose a soldier who was so shitty at his job that within only 20 hours of combat time, he wrecks a plane, falls behind enemy lines, gets captured, and then gives out vital military information to the enemy in exchange for medical treatment. Is that who you want as a commander in chief for an entire military??? God help us if that's the case.

I disagree. Obama was calling Senator McCain by his first name. That is disrespectful. And called him Tom on one occasion. Nice. Obama was glaring at Senator MCain quite a few times. The minimum requirements for new enlistees were reduced again. Apparently, if you can scratch an "X" you're good to go. Reason? Re enlistments are way down - including old timers. That's under Republican George, not Democrat Obama. Bigotry simply means to pre judge or to be intolerant of. It can apply to anything, not just race. I did not mean to imply racial bigotry on your part. I was referring to political/philosophical bigotry in general.

As an independent that has voted Democrat and Republican in the past, Obama seriously was owning McCain in the debate. You can tell how there were times Obama got the upper hand on McCain, and McCain was trying to hold back his anger to he doesn't blow up on live tv.

It definitely didn't appear that either candidate won the debate. However, McCain displayed a classic technique that people use when they are nervous, lying, or deflecting a situation.
If you notice...he did a gratuitous amount of smiling while Obama maintained a professional, intelligent and rational frame of mind during the debate. Personally, I can't stand either of them...but, McCain definitely seemed unnerved.

I never understood why McCain uses his POW status as a selling point. He was a really shitty soldier who wrecked a plane behind enemy lines, got caught, and then gave up vital information for health care.
A person with that kind of record, and after only having 20 hours of combat time, is the last person I want in charge of the United States Military. If he couldn't keep himself from behind enemy lines, imagine what's going to happen with thousands of our soldiers behind him.

He was being courteous enough to admit that he and McCain agreed on some things, unlike McCain, who flip flops on everything and will say anything to get elected. For example, every time when it was established they agreed on something, he never had the balls to admit it and instead changed the subject to "Obama doesn't understand..." or etc. He also answered every question vaguely and with some kind of anecdote while Obama was very specific. McCain also provided LOTS of false info about Obama.
