How is this fairly tough? I'm very beginner at GIMP and I could easily follow this tutorial. And I have made better signatures from scratch.

not bad...but concentrate on the flow. Place the c4ds in the direction of the sword and the sig is a little bit boring. Only brushes and a few c4ds. Bring in a light or a highlight. Consequently you would have a nice focus.

render does not blend well with the sig partialy because the colors of the sig are nonexistant. the flow sloppy. there is little depth whatsoever. bad lighting.

The last three comments bring me lulz. I understand that in this one I did go too fast and I slowed down for the next few, but lol. You can pause the video and go back, you know. Also, these are really really basic techniques I'm using and you can literally see me doing it so if you're still learning to use Gimp and what its tools do, this tutorial isn't for you. I even stated that in the very beginning of the video.

At the time I considered beginner to be someone just learning how to use tools and what a C4D is and such. I still do, really. But all my tutorials are for beginners.

This is quite a beginnerish tutorial. As long as the person has a knowledge of GIMP or even photoshop this is quite easy. It is quite effective but id have labelled this a intermediate at most. Nice tutorial though ;) should help a lot of people.

i go to download those brushes and i put them in the Gimp brushes folder and go back through to open them (because they show as zipped on my com) but i can't open them

Uhh, i followed your tut exactly, but when i got to the first C4D, it didn't show up!!. I selected all of it, adn copy/pasted it into the c4d layer, but that's all where it showed up. The Outline was the thing that showed up in the sig! HELP!

To get it back you'll have to search it on youtube. I don't really remember how, but I know it happened to me. You can try clicking the drop arrow at the very top of the thingy (right next to the blue box). I don't remember if that has a toolbox drop down or somerthing, but I think I recall it being related to that. Not sure.

As for brushes, I have to make the layer first and then flip them. I'm not sure if there is a way. If there is, I'd love to know it myself XD.
