  • This live version is a gem!!!!!!

  • what kind of synthesizers did devo use on their early records ? would love to know

  • @jamminmusicman They made their own sound so it's hard to say

  • @jamminmusicman

A lot of Minimoog, from what i've heard.

  • @jamminmusicman

    moog

    google is your friend..

  • THIS IS DEVO

  • jesus the bit with booji kind of freaked me out 8s

  • Getting his head squished made Booji's voice deeper for a while.

There's a high quality version of him getting his head crushed on YT.

  • funny to see where rammstein and marilyn manson stole their stage appearance from

  • Devo were more popular in Australia than the US at that moment in time.

  • Cool. Interesting how the past affects the future. Tool has some explaining to do.

  • ugh yes. going to see these guys tonight. thank god.

  • EXCELENTE !!!! ná que decir !!!

  • "Tunnel of Life" -- looks like he's wearing the Booji mask inside out.

  • Chronic SAP exposure leads to this condition....

FAUX MICRO BEX! Look for the W.....

  • The best !!!!

  • That's just how i felt when i smoked that mistery joint.

    Itching Swelling Brain!

  • This song really makes you empathize with those poor, super-intelligent brain eating uber-apes that we're all devolved from. They just couldn't stop eating brains. So deliciously enlightening, so blisteringly painful.

  • Really liked Tunnel of Life- first time seeing Booji Boy's funeral in context.

  • i traded that 8 track for a box of marboro & still think i cheated him

  • Devo, an absolutely, positively original band/sound. This can be said of very few (if any) musical/visual artists. Check out their story on Wikipedia. Simply search Devo.

  • since when did michael jackson join DEVO?

  • most fuckin awesome devo song ever, I love it..... and they have quite a few greats that I love.....

    ..........Z?@%!*

  • SIB=hardcore devo

    tunnel of life=chilling

  • bob is in all of us

  • damn. i need to get more of their music. i've been missing out. SIB is a great song!

  • Bob2 is the unsung hero in this one...

    DE-VOOOO!

  • The more I watch their shows the more difficult it is to deny that Bob is almost as rad as Mark

  • why's that?

  • all those perfect blippiddy boops....Bob2 does a lot of stuff for Devo, always on the other side of the spotlight though......

  • i hope he does, cos so often i see him being out of time or just ruining the choreography

  • I want to see them ... I hope they come to Europe (Belgium) ... i heard they made a new album

  • DEVO special show in London, 6 May 2009.

  • I haven't run across much video from this tour, sadly.

At the show in Florida, they did 4 encores. People were still doing the "more, more" chant. The lights went out, and they did the movie, then a bloody booji boy singing Tunnel of Life. The audience was so disturbed they pretty much filed out completely silent after that. Was a very odd way to end a great show.

    Thanks for the great post.

  • lmao Booji Boy is such a mongoloid

  • Duty Now is such a great album, seems to be overlooked at times

  • i think dutys their best

  • Oh yes, dude. Guess it's better than their first but not as important.

  • What a remarkable show! Devo were trully the pioneers of multi-media performance art. If only I had been born 10 years earlier, I would have been to every Devo concert since 1977. Just an interesting note. The music from "Tunnel of Life" was originally titled "Booji Boy's Funeral" which is available on Devo Hardcore Volume 2. This was the first time I ever heard it with vocals and hence the name change.

  • I was and ya, it was all that. Nice to know another fan, by the way I got meet them and talked to Mark for a While (nice man)

Of course I also got autographs from four of them, except Gerry.

  • Art in music.

  • Music is art.

  • I got a painful itching pink pussy cat !!

  • what a jam for ganja and headphones!!!!Spud from south Texas

  • Bad DEVO Hangover.

  • 27 years ago, and it still sounds modern great, isn´t it?

  • Devo rules. They were pioneers in many ways. Several well respected musicians have hailed them and also made covers of some of their songs.Nirvana made a cover of Turn Around. De-evolution is real. Tunnel of life I never knew about since I didn't have the Booji Boys funural or the Hardcore Devo vol2 CD.

  • im singing this song at the rock school devo showw.....!!!!

  • I love this song and I love Devo. This is a great DVD, too.

I wish I could've been around to see one of their shows back around that time. BUT I did get the chance to see them in '05! I was expecting them to be old and... not as good... but they were AWESOME! That was one of the coolest shows ever. They're so rad.

    Duty now for the future!

  • we are devo

  • are we not men?

  • amazing post...thanks. One of the best live shows I've ever seen was Devo at the Orpheum Theater, Boston, MA 1979.

  • Ah Booji Boy...

  • Saw them this tour, boy were they great!

Mark came sliding down from the mezzanine balcony, and magically re-appeared on stage. The aircraft landing lights in those boxes behind them lit up to almost blinding speed. What a great show!!

  • A lyric-less version of "Tunnel of Life" is on Hardcore Devo 2 as "Booji Boy's Funeral".

  • A great find! After hearing S.I.B. after so many years, the piece went round and round though my mind. Tunnel of Life is haunting a beautiful. Thanks!

  • thanks for posting this - i got the DVD when i was in the states a few weeks ago and i can't stop watching it! i LOVE them!

  • best DEVO song ever!

thanks for posting this. now i think i'm gonna go buy the dvd as soon as i can!

  • awesome! i wish i could've seen them in concert back then.

they were years ahead of their time! absolute genious!

  • I was and yep, they were. By the way I have fingerprint evidence that B Boy is actually Mark. Although he denied this fact when I met him and posed the question to him. I also asked what "O.D" ment, and he replied "what do you think it means". Nice man though, he talked with me for about fifteen minutes, plus gave me an autograph. We're all Devo

  • Are we not men?

    We are Devo!

    Are we not men?

    D-E-V-O!

  • S.I.B sounds a lot different live than it does on their 1979 album. Devo songs usually sound a lot better live.

  • I only knew of Devo from Devo2.0 which I didn't like. They however got me into the original band and I love these guys. I wish I could go back in time to see them like this. Even though they are nerds they were kind of cute.

  • you only knew DEVO through Dev2.0?? You have my pity :( I don't know what DEVO were thinking to be honest.

  • Buying it today. Thanks for posting anyway!
