I think it should be normal for everyone to listen to music that really comes from the heart and soul like Blues. I´ve read Claptons Book. Know all his songs, own all his albums without any exeptions. I´ve written a 15 page document about him for school last year. 80% of the music I listen to was made in the time period from the 1920s to the 70s. What you hear in this video is real music that is made of and creates real emotions and everyone in the world should listen to it.
@rhemagnifixentdude2 thats because teenagers today are alll in the fad following whats "cool" no respect for real music like this that really pisses me off
did anyone noticed that clapton starts his solo with the exact same notes of the boys blues tune... u can find it in youtube like BB King best solo.... It´s an instrumental composition of bb... that´s why he recognized it. Originally it´s in A flat and claptonplays it in BM
Anyone out there please, where was this recorded and can you get the full concert on DVD?! At the end it was a whose who of the great blues guitarist. The thrill hasnt gone.. Truely magical........
i respect eric not only as an artist but as a hman being.... and bb... welll.. he is a show man like no other..... he is tired, probably ill, but he left his soul in that stage as usual.
in some years (hope many more) eric is going to be the master in the place of bb.... and i suposse dereck trucks, joe bonamassa, and.... johnny lang, mayer, not sure o the thirth, are going to be the ones in stage with him
i have always loved and respected bb king, but there's just something special when clapton plays. you just cant describe the feeling. guess he invented something new: GUITAR-ASM
and that´s the beauty of play blues.... when u play a solo, u play what u r feeling in that moment.... this 3 solos could have been entirely different one day before or after
THIS is music. now, i love all types o different genres.... obviously blues is very simple compare to bach.... but blues is passion, soul, pain... a mix of human emotions without any filter.... that´s why is so powerful. i think only beethoven, mozart, bach.... can reach or pass over the power of the blues
After watch this a million times, I think the best of this vid is to see how BB starts singing aparently sad.... and how after every solo, he begins to smile
If there is a white man in the World who knows how to play Blues, it's Clapton. If I had a thousandth of his ability, I would be simply awesome. Sadly, I don't. Everyone on this stage is out of this World. I think I'm in Heaven.
yes... I think the same. BB´s tone give you goosebumps since the first seconds. I can describe what it is. I know 99% of his tone is in his hands..
it´s all in his hands... I have an epi dot (Ebony, just to get es close as it can gets...) and I have prooved many variants. I think the most similar sound is both knobs: vol bridge 7, tone 0 and neck vol 10 tone 0, or just bridge out and neck tone 0 vol 10. I prefer the second.
@hungerstriker27 trying backing the tone off to about 3 or 4 on the neck pickup, and playing with light strings (around 0.08 guage) and if you want to sound like BB its all in that vibrato, but never use it on the bends! Probably more of an answer than you wanted, and like you say its all in the hands. Hope that's some use to you anyway mate.
at the end, u have in the same stage bb, eric, robert cray, jimmie, warren hayes, ron wood, dereck trucks, herbert sumlin, buddy guy, joe bonammasa, james burton, johnny winter, ziggy marley, steve winwood... really, t doesnt get better than that
exquisite sounds, that's all i can say. these young cats of today had better sit up & take some musical lessons because what they are churning out today is pure B.S. MUCH RESPECT, BB KING & ERIC CLAPTON
the smile of bb at 5.35, the reaction of robert, the expression in eric´s face and the crowd says it all. this one was for the texas blues man... that lick he takes out is a stroke of genious
eric is my all time hero, but I have to say that this time JIMMIe killed.... that riff at 5.22.... is the winner. Finally, jimmie passing over clapton and BB and showing he is a great blues man, with or without his young brother.
