Today, I was googling about Minimoog clones, I found out about the minimax, and that they made a copy of the Odyssey and prophet 5, then i found out that they don't make them anymore. I died a little bit.
I thought I commented on this a while back, but I guess I never hit "Post!" Anyway, the box does have the Minimax filter and from what I can tell, it does give a bit more of a warm, fatter tone. But I haven't played the Moog enough to know the difference.
The thing is a bunch of fun, though. I haven't had time to pick it up since the Christmas holidays due to my work schedule. Please let me know how you like your ASB!
I am suprised and very pleased with the minimax. I ordered one based on all the reviews and testes I could find on the net. It sounds better then I expected. I also have a Voyager and the Minimax is perhaps even closer to the minimoog d
then the Voyager. Still the Voyager have a very warm and organic filter. Perhaps I make a comparence video. Right now the Prodyssey is a tempting object, are you pleased with yours?
@blackmayonnaise888 I basically did exactly what you did..just surf around YouTube to see what kind of music/noises people produced with it. Of course, I went to the manufacturers' site as well as synth sites like soundonsound.
The prodyssey has a switch that uses a modelled moog-type filter, the same filter that is found on the minimax. Alas, I have not been able to play with the synth lately, as other things have come up. Sonic Core's website has a forum that you might find interesting. You should check it out.

I happen to love mine, but I was curious as to which "testes" helped you make your decision. :)

I read somewhere the Prodyssey have the Minimax filter. Can you get the Prod to sound like a Max and the other way around?
Are you pleased with your synth? (I,m just ordered a minimax asb) and like to hear other customers opinions about this boxes.
