well, lucky you! here in SWEDEN (wich sucks some times) a decent bike would cost you 2500 dollar becuz everything is sooo much more expenivier here! just saying
that is very true, I worked in a dh/fr bike shop and i have rode numerous downhill bikes and the difference between the cheap dh bikes and the higher end carbon bikes is extremely big,
if you need a DH bike and want specialized...go with a big hit 1 or 2...the 3 breaks too easy and the components are weaker...at leat thats what ive been told. but you can get a bighit for 800$ and under
wow chill da fuck out i got it wrong big deal and i was at the world cup coz i was meant to race in the junior catigory but due to a fractuered leg it didnt happen
@Gibson2471 Im actually building one right now, Im getting all used parts and either fixing them or cleaning, ill put everything together, my biggest thing is the downhill shocks are the biggest expense i got already a basic frame but the wheels and shocks are a killer
MBUK tested this a while back. Rob Jarman on a rigid 90's Giant IS faster than a 'normal' cyclist on an Intense M3.
Since Jarman is nowhere near Hill, Peat, Minnaar etc it's safe to say that yes, they could do it on a rigid if they wanted. Rider counts much much more than bike.
Yeah supposedly the only way Sam would ride for them was if they adjusted the geo to make it as close as possible to the Sunday - so basically Sam is like - I'll help you sell your product and you will pay me a shit ton of money, but I won't actually ride your product. RIght on.
his last name is Hill for a reason

100% rider but he has to have confidence in his bike
suzukirida299 2 years ago 5
while this is true, there is no way to have confidence in a bike that cannot supply performance.
you must give the bike at least some credit
m3rcuryd3ath 2 years ago
that is very true, I worked in a dh/fr bike shop and i have rode numerous downhill bikes and the difference between the cheap dh bikes and the higher end carbon bikes is extremely big,
take for example, a
*umf freddy 1, steel body, dhx 3.0, 888rcvs
vs
*gt fury, rockshox boxxer, rockshox vivid, carbon fibre,
the gt was faster by 10%, rode better and smoother.
my point is that the bike does make a difference and anyone who denys that obviously has not ridden many bikes

msdownhiller 3 years ago
Um yeah we know...
They aren't even stock frames - custom geo.
baboon69pashley 3 years ago 2
Yeah supposedly the only way Sam would ride for them was if they adjusted the geo to make it as close as possible to the Sunday - so basically Sam is like - I'll help you sell your product and you will pay me a shit ton of money, but I won't actually ride your product. RIght on.
evancam 2 years ago
Well actually you would be wrong.
Hill and Fairclough are riding the stock head angle and the stock rear end - they are running a lower bb than standard.
The ex Ironhorse boys were offered a 16.75" rear end (same as the sunday) but opted for the 16.5" rear that is standard on the demo.
The team bikes run lighter tubes, lower bb and more progressive shock actuation then the standard bikes. Other than that theyr'e pretty similar.
