  • his last name is Hill for a reason

  • I think I just saw Brendan pedal!

  • This is extremely secret. Especially since everyone in the world knows now.

  • @skatedonthate88 ok evryone knows now, but did everyone know when the vid was posted, a year ago? no they didnt.

  • i got a v-10 mark 2 the other week for €1400 ;) she is mint.

  • well, lucky you! here in SWEDEN (wich sucks some times) a decent bike would cost you 2500 dollar becuz everything is sooo much more expenivier here! just saying

  • its like 90% rider 10% bike. sam hill could beat you using a hardtail and ur using a intense 951

  • not very secret now

  • i have bought me for an hour a 2500 euro bike Norco Atomik

  • spesh demo are probably the shit DH bikes in the world.

  • what the fuck does that even mean??

And they're probably really crappy cos they got 1 of the best DHers of last year a shitload of podiums

  • i missed 'test' off the end of shit and you cant desipher the meaning of the sentance.

    get clu£

  • Yeah nice arguement seen as the WC overall was won on a Demo

  • lol, look at your name. u cant comment cos ur bias. soz

  • @ramboormark yeah, the brakes are to grabby and the sockzorz are too bouncy

  • @ramboormark and thats why there ridden by a world champ

  • 100% rider but he has to have confidence in his bike

  • while this is true, there is no way to have confidence in a bike that cannot supply performance.

you must give the bike at least some credit

  • that is very true, I worked in a dh/fr bike shop and i have rode numerous downhill bikes and the difference between the cheap dh bikes and the higher end carbon bikes is extremely big,

    take for example, a

*umf freddy 1, steel body, dhx 3.0, 888rcvs

    vs

*gt fury, rockshox boxxer, rockshox vivid, carbon fibre,

the gt was faster by 10%, rode better and smoother.

my point is that the bike does make a difference and anyone who denys that obviously has not ridden many bikes

  • It's not 100% more like 80% Rider, and 20% bike.

  • well not true more like 60 40

  • Aww mad. I love the Demo 8 with the white top and red bottom! :D

I just bought a 2007 Demo 8 off ebay and can't wait to take it on the track!

  • if you need a DH bike and want specialized...go with a big hit 1 or 2...the 3 breaks too easy and the components are weaker...at leat thats what ive been told. but you can get a bighit for 800$ and under

  • how do you know that was sam hill

  • looks very much like him doesnt it i would say that is real

  • did you not see the 2 on the back of his jersey? that's his number, and the fact that specialized covered this in numerous blogs.

  • buddy hill is number 1 not 2

  • wrong.

    Greg Minnaar runs #1

    Sam Hill runs #2

    Brendan Fairclough runs #12

you must have been completely blind during the entire 2009 world cup season

  • wow chill da fuck out i got it wrong big deal and i was at the world cup coz i was meant to race in the junior catigory but due to a fractuered leg it didnt happen

  • dats ochneikan/aheta franger forks.dudes chillo rallo. stainless phil sealed hubs .

  • i think that personaly it's 40% bike and 60%rider

  • more like 80% rider 20% bike

  • id say 95/5 man

  • oh most definatly...because i've seen videos of guys downhilling with a hardtail...id even go as far as 30% bike and 70% rider

  • those are definately not stock.

  • Ive always wanted a specilized but their 2 expensive and im not allowed to get a mountain bike over 800$ lol

  • i wouldnt say too expensive, but there downhill and freeride bikes, what do u expect

  • your not goin to get a decent downhill bike for less than 1500

  • (Decent)

    Freeride bikes start at 1600

    Downhill at 2500

  • @Gibson2471 i just saw a specialized demo 7 on craigslist for 1400 hahaha well if your talking about brand new then ya fuck that hahah

  • @Gibson2471 Im actually building one right now, Im getting all used parts and either fixing them or cleaning, ill put everything together, my biggest thing is the downhill shocks are the biggest expense i got already a basic frame but the wheels and shocks are a killer

  • @Oster910 thats so true man. good luck

  • more like your not going to get a downhill bike period for less than 1500

  • @Gibson2471 more like 3 grand. if you buy used you can get something for a thou to 15 or so

  • what about a Big Hit 1? they arent to expensive

  • Never seen Blackbox Boxxers on a stock Demo 8

  • the bike is not fast, the rider? correct? so sam hill can use rigid fork and hardtail huh?

  • MBUK tested this a while back. Rob Jarman on a rigid 90's Giant IS faster than a 'normal' cyclist on an Intense M3.

Since Jarman is nowhere near Hill, Peat, Minnaar etc it's safe to say that yes, they could do it on a rigid if they wanted. Rider counts much much more than bike.

  • ive got a hard tail specialized, they are the BEST BIKES EVA !!!!!

  • specialized kick ass... i must buy one

    SPECIALIZED!

  • ironhorse is faster

  • ironhorse isn't faster noob,

the rider is fast or not!! not the bike...

  • those are not stock demos. they have world cup black box boxxers

  • Um yeah we know...

They aren't even stock frames - custom geo.

  • Yeah supposedly the only way Sam would ride for them was if they adjusted the geo to make it as close as possible to the Sunday - so basically Sam is like - I'll help you sell your product and you will pay me a shit ton of money, but I won't actually ride your product. RIght on.

  • Well actually you would be wrong.

Hill and Fairclough are riding the stock head angle and the stock rear end - they are running a lower bb than standard.

The ex Ironhorse boys were offered a 16.75" rear end (same as the sunday) but opted for the 16.5" rear that is standard on the demo.

The team bikes run lighter tubes, lower bb and more progressive shock actuation then the standard bikes. Other than that theyr'e pretty similar.

  • great spot man!!! nice. sam hill is the king !!! and nicolas too

  • brendog will be up there next year i promise

  • he is rakin the number 2 and fairclough 12.

  • Sam Hill the best!!!!

  • nice dude!
