Chas Freeman would have paved the way for Peace. He thought highly of Israel but not highly of the right wing parties in Israel who neither want to withdraw from new settlement expansions but want to expand.
With Freeman out of the way it's now easier to start another war and cover up for the investigations on what happened in Bush-Cheney era.
For example, who got rich as a result of economical melt down. Money just doesn't disappear. Where did Madoff divert the 50Billion he defrauded?

I never expected Obama to take on the military industrial complex and the project for a new American century. Thats just silly.
I do however expect a goodpresident to be one who is willing to fight for American sovreignty. P.S.... Jews is spelled with a capital J.... just an indication of your educational level I suspect.
That's probably because 99% of what you see on TV is either conservative or liberal idiots spouting extreme and baseless talking points.
High time TV went back to paying attention to people like Cenk who actually try to make a point and support their argument rather than all this reactionary BS we have today.
i was looking over some comments, and it has to known that Isreal OWNS Corporate America. I know for a fact, that every surveillence satellite we have, isreal gets all that information just as we do. there is absolutely nothing that they do not know.
no other county is pivy to ou info but them. Tell me, if they didnt OWN the US, would they get ALL that military info????? Soon, it shall be china fighting isreal over who owns more of the US.
also, my thinking and participation on here has had extra ears on each of my conversations. unfortunate for them, I Love too much to ever do anything destructive towards any entity. =0)
Cenk, please explain WHY it is political suicide to be against anything Israel does. Is it lobbyists, political power in the US, money, or just tradition?
What is the reason that national politicians must support Israel or face not being elected?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Because most Americans supports Israel and Israel is an important symbol. Remember why Israel was created and the historical significance of that, as well as what it means to have a strong ally in the middle east.
Essentially we're on the same side as Israel, and Israel is monumentally important when it comes to fighting Islamofascism.
Kind of a funny argument because most of the problems we have in the middle east in the first place is because we dumped the Jews in the middle of someone else's country and basically told the people living there at the time to deal with it or get the hell out ^^
You should read the book "The Israel Lobby" by John Mearsheimer and Steve Walt, it explains thouroughly about this problem- and no they are not anti-semites spewing hatred and disinformation.
People hold Israel to a different standard than other nations including Mersheimer and Walt. There are books that point out the faulty logic those authors.
A perfect example is your contention that the US fights Israel's wars. You think the US invaded Iraq for Israel? Just because Israel benefits from US actions doesn't mean the Israel Lobby is behind it. There are many examples when the US goes against Israel's interests, nobody brings it up though.
nice to c u have read a book. Trust me most experts don't agree with the factual assertions there. Just 2 professors... sorry i mean geeks. Here's how they define Israeli lobby : - "loose coalition of individuals and organizations who actively work to steer U.S. foreign policy in a pro-Israel direction,"
..hmm.
What about Arab oil lobbies?? They claim the Israeli lobby has an yearly budget of $57million. I wonder if u realize 2-3 saudi sheiks could manage more than this. haha
Be critical, but be critical for a good reasons. Can you give me some examples where Israel was wrong and the US supported it. My contention is this is no different than Britain, Canada, etc. and that people hold Israel to a different standard.
It is internationally recognized that the occupations of Gaza and the West Bank are "wrong" (unless you are in complete denial) and the US supplies weapons that are used in these occupations therefore supporting the occupation-there is your example. I feel this is a good reason to be critical of Israeli policies especially since the new incoming governement opposes the two-state solution to help bring peace to both sides.
On the contrary, the US does not agree with the occupation. It is U.S. policy that Israel must give up the occupied territories. The US also condemns Israel whenever they build new settlements. And the U.S, also says Israel must accept a two-state solution. This was part of Bush's Road Map to Peace, and it is still part of Obama's Administration that there should be a two state solution. There you go.
Then please explain to me why the US has consistently vetoed every UN resolution that has been passed including the one (UN Res. 1860) that Condaleeza Rice personally negotiated herself in Jan of this year!
The US did not want a ceasefire because they wanted to strengthen Livini and Fatah and weaken Hamas and Likud figuring this would make the peace process much easier.
Wrong. Her official explanation was about waiting to see if egyptian peace efforts would work. But why would she abstain on a UN resolution when she worked so hard in seeing it being passed? It was later revealed by the israeli PM Ehud Olmert that he had in fact called up president Bush, while he was in the middle of giving a speech in philidelphia no less, and told him to instruct Rice not to vote for it.
The underlying reason is the same. Olmert told Bush if you vote for this it would hurt them in the upcoming elections. Olmert than bragged about it to boost the Kadima Party. Obama wouldn't even so much as say the obligatory - both sides need to stop. His silence on this whole affair was an endorsement of the conflict. Why? He would rather deal with Livini than Netanyahu. This conflict was not so much Isreal vs Hamas, as it was about giving moderates on both sides more power.
Thats not the point. The point here is that israel through the lobbies has yet again interfered with the affairs of the US. The abstination of condaleeza rice was an example of direct israeli interference. It has to stop. Last time I checked this was the US of America and not the US of Israel.
Olmert was bragging, even lying for his own political gain. Get the real story.
Jan 13 (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday denied that a telephone call from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to President George W. Bush forced Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to abstain in a U.N. vote on the Gaza war."
"Sean McCormack, who was with Rice at the United Nations last week during debate on the U.N. resolution, said the remarks were "just 100 percent, totally, completely untrue."
I don't know what really happened, but I doubt it went down the way Olmert said. He was just trying to boost himself.
The real point is that the US did NOT want the ceasefire. And in case you didn't notice, many Arab Leaders including Egypt and Abbas/Fatah were criticized for being somewhat aloof at the time because they don't exactly support Hamas ya know.
Glad to see you know your stuff, however the US had one foot in and one foot out. (Israel flat out rejected the road map) Bush reneged on the road map and then denounced and refused to recognize Arafat and demanded he give up power while still supplying aid and weapons to Israel. This is not the subject however. The LOBBY and pro-Israelists that interfere in US politics is the problem I speak of here.Regardless of legitimate crticism, it should not interfere with government appointments.
The Road Map was derailed when Hamas wrestled control of Gaza from the Palestinian Authority. The government split and that was the end of the Road Map.
Find me where AIPAC interferred? Schumer is the one that got Freeman booted. But why doesn't anyone mention Obama's Number 1, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual who is a dual citizen Israeli? He didn't try to stop the nomination. Why do you lefties have a double standard when it comes to Israel? US has control of Israel, not the other way around.
Yea because its arab oil lobbies that kicked Freeman out of a position that the Director of national intelligence Dennis blair practically handed to him. Oh and of course lets not forget that the Chief of Staff also holds dual american and arabian citizenship. Darn those arab oil lobbies!
AS far as I know, the Arab oil industry is run by OPEC so they do not even need an oil lobby.I'm sure there are American oil lobbies but have never heard of Arab oil lobbies
Freeman is a former American ambassador to Saudi Arabia and past president of the American-Arab Affairs Council.
Don't hear anyone complaining about this obvious conflict of interest. Again, Israel is held to a different standard. It's been ingrained into your minds by the left.
I am saying that Freeman was forced out by pro Israel advocates including non-Jews. And that Emmanuel who holds Israeli citizenship was in favor of Freeman, you don't mention that though.
Freeman was seen as one-sided, so of course pro-Israel congressional leaders would say no.
Most in Congress are pro Israel. But the US controls Israel, not the other way around. If the US tells Israel NO, Israel doesn't do it.
Every american national politician never goes against whatever Israel wants or does. It ain't because every american politician thinks Israel is perfect. It is due to the Jewish Lobby. This is glaringly obvious
Israel is an ally. Just like Britain is an ally, or France is an ally. Do you think the US would show favoritism towards these nations too if they were in conflict? Israel is a nation in conflict,, Britain and France are not, so it is glaring that the US has a pro Israel bias. This is true. But this is no different than we would be with any other ally nation. We favor Korea over N. Korea. We favor Georgia and the Eastern block over Russia. Russia says unfairly too. Allies are allies.
How is Israle any ally to the US? I can list many reasons they are a detriment to the USA: they are into our (US taxpayer) pocket for over $3 billion per year; they use US made and provided weapons to slaughter Palestinians, creating hundreds of enemies for us, they interfere in a major way in US politics (see Chas Freemna, the neocons, the boycott of the meeting in Durban on racism, AIPAC, and so on).
I agree (and would add that the Israel influence in the US is overstated) but this is all beside the point, Freeman blamed the 'Israel lobby' to divert attention from his own shortcommings. The fact that none of his supporters (most of whom had never heard of him before he withdrew) make no apologies of the arguements against him prove that it worked.
All I'll say is that you have to be carefull with a guy who spends as much time in Suadi Arabia as Freeman then blames all his woes on Israel - We don't need another George Galloway.
Hmmm. First it was not Israel that forced Freeman out, now he had to go cuz he balmes all his woes on Israel.
Which is it? Did Israel interefere (yet again) with US official business or was it some other unidentified group that forced the withdrawal of a man named by the US president?
Five Star General gets shit canned cuz he speaks out against zionists?
At this point I can only hope that the military will be willing to pull the trigger to stop a Jewish coup. Fuck, who else is left? Seriously? What faction of opposition can pose a threat to a Jewish coup? Who?
volcom you are a scumbag and you make me fucking sick. Criticizing a country with extreme influence within our nation is not anti-semitism. Did you know that the Jews in Israel are mostly Ashkenazi and NOT semites, and that true semetic jews are treated just as badly as Palestinians? And that Arabs are also a semetic people?
Lets not forget people, all the top positions in the "Department of Homeland Security" are filled by Jews. Now the Jews are making their move with this intelligence post. How much longer before Jews control all of the flow of information?
Remember kiddos, DHS decides which politicians get intelligence reports and which politicians dont get intelligence reports.
The Republicans? Hey dumocrats the republicans are lifeless and powerless (by the way most republicans don't see limbough as a leader) despite what the zionazi rahm emmanuelle thinks.
This is typical of the wimpy "progressive" left. IT WAS CHARLES SCHUMER WHO LED THE CHARGE YOU PUNK. Pat Buchanan, Jimmy Carter, Dennis Kucinich, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee have courage to stand up to the war criminals in Tel Aviiv. But mainstream Democrats remain little punks with ZERO BALLS

Freeman is too biased. He wasn't right for the job. You people complain he got the shaft because of the Israel Lobby, yet say nothing of the fact that Freeman himself is a lobbyist for Saudi Arabia.
So you're against Israel's influence, but not Saudi influence. You people are full of sheeet. Crackpot leftist scumbags, nothing more.
When will people start searching for news themselves.. didn't you learn a lesson from the media's propaganda about the Iraq war.. read about the other side views.. hopefully less people will have to die in future if you do so
no i've never heard of the guy and know dick about comparitive middle east politics. Thanks cenk we know u are talking out your ass here appealing to the lowest common denominator.
republicans are doing everything they can, anyway they can, to keep Obama from getting things done, they know if he is allowed to do what he wants to do that they will lose even more power in the next election.
For people hoping on obama's "change" know this, Barrack is a Jewish name that originates from the word "baruch". Most of the Jewish devotees use the name "baruch" as their first names. The ex-PM of Israel, Ehud Barak also took that name commemorative of the name "baruch". The second name of Obama is also close to "Ahabah". Beth Ahabah is the name for a Jewish temple or synagogue.
If every previous US president is zionist bitches, this guy is their pimp daddy :D
I, too, was skeptical of the whole change thing that obama ran on. If obama was about change then he would do some campaign finance reform. Until that happens, forget the change. Politicians will always have to answer to the people who give them money.
Regular people may have gotten obama elected, but what about the other legislators? They are all brought and paid for. Too bad for the country.
Do you really think its Israel? I think the Republicans always side w/ Israel is just because 1) It gurantees them the jewish vote and 2)because it gives them an excuse to attack the middle east and steal more oil. Think about it, if israel somehow became a major oil supplier in the US and then decided to not deal with US executives/oil companies do you think they would still pay the politicians to pass policy and protect israel?
rigght, thats why Obama got 78% of the Jewish vote.
you are right about republicans going to war for their big oil friend. the big oil interests have and always will outwiegh any influence Israel has on our politics.
I'm pissed at Obama for this Israel just has to much power already is Israel going to be able to phone Obama and tell him to stop a vote just like they did with Bush. Come on Obama take a stand!
I'm guessing it's a combination of all of the above. Israel's a highly strategic location as it's a gateway to many areas. Then there's probably the reason of trying to appeal to the religious right and trying to look good in general (at least way back in the past). But from a pragmatic standpoint, the location's probably the most important part. Thing is, the politicians seem to have forgotten that the reason Israel even exists is b/c of allied US power after WW 2, not the other way around.
Jewish lobbies pay a lot of money to anyone willing to help them push Israel's agenda to Washington. And many congressman have Jewish roots or family members.
Why are people so concerned about political pain? Isn't US the country that can dole out *real* pain? Not the comparatively puny Israel? I mean when push comes to shove...
I'm not saying be a tyrant, but this isn't this ridiculous?
Well this only works on the assumption that politicians actually care about whats best for the country rather than themselves. If politicians are caused political pain then it does not serve their own interests in fact the pain harms them hence they will avoid the said pain at all costs. This is how pressure groups undermine democracy, by causing pain or by giving benefit too, the selfish needs of the few at the top they can competely circumvent democracy.
It is political suicide,in the USA, to take any stand but 100% for everything Israel does. The Jews have all the political contribution purse strings and you support or you get squeezed out.
heil1987 - I agree with some of your points, but I think you need to be corrected on a few things.
First off, Iran did NOT pledge to wipe Israel off the map. It is a LIE and it has been debunked by all who speak Farsi.
Secondly, you are confusing Jews with ZIONISTS. It is the ZIONISTS you oppose, not Jews. It is important you know the difference so that people don't call you an anti-semite.
It is the ZIONISTS who are killing the Palestinians and are the terrorists.
when was the last time someone seriously critisized israel..!! All media is amazingly bias youtube (the new verb =google) Norman Finkelstein.. a jewish scholar tells truth Time will tell you Cenk will never have his program in MSNBC I believe that he is bias about Israel but he thinks as a human mostly & I am sad that he won't get the MSNBC he just won't mark my words.. he won't they can't do it.. can't play with it.. can't have it Too Bad man.. I wish he would
No I remember when Israel was killing Gaza's children very well
& how Cenk & the folks reacted
I actually was going to say that they lost the candidacy back then
Seriously .. I believe if they did not do those videos besides this one.. they might have a shot on MSNBC.. especially that they would be the best to fulfill it
How dare you Cenk, don't you know how much jews suffered in the hands of the Nazi!?
Are you saying they don't now have the right, not only FROM GOD, but from they're horrid experiences to execute nazi fuck-uppedness upon all those arabs that are basically, illegally occupying sacred jewish land!? Is that what you are saying? Then sir, you are no better than the nazis!
(Now, is this A. sarcasm... or B. really, a serious quote, Omfg GTFO o' here!
GOD did NOT write the bible, TAKENnameARGH - Man did.
Who exterminated the Jews? EUROPE, not the Arabs.
You want to gem up on some real history about how Israel was founded, the Jews who funded both Hitler and the Allies because they did not see the Jewish population as being "real" Jews and you want to learn about Zionism - the dominant force in Israel today.
Many Jews follow the religious law and do not agree totally with the Zionist agenda.
they've obviously got control over the financial system in the U.S. if not worldwide - they are the top bankers / the greenspans and they have the faithful support of all that are dependant on the system - be it europe, russia or the u.s. ~
Why do so many use the actions of Israel to attack the Jewish community. Comments left on this video seem to be focused on attacking a race instead of a political system in the wrong.
Not all Jewish people agree with the actions of the government of Israel. True or not?

This is an ominous sign that Obambi will be a 1 term EPIC FAIL and will LOSE to Sarah Palin in 2012. NOBODY under President Palin WILL oppose to Israel, even by by a molecule, under any circumstance whatsoever. If somebody does not agree with Israel in so way shape or form, Palin will UNLEASH THE WRATH OF GOD HERSELF onto the poor politician and if it is a guy, Palin will reveal his PUSSY for the WHOLE WORLD to see and discredit his reputation and credibility down to the gutter!
And you think the Israel government want peace? Hahaha don't make me laugh, they don't want peace, they want Arabs off their land. And that is the problem, IT ISN'T THEIR LAND IN THE FIRST PLACE. Its land given by the UK/US governments to a people who have NO RIGHT being there in the first place, and the Israeli government want to remove the last elements of those people from their "supposed historical lands". Yah ok... remove the Israelis from the land and justice will have been served. Truth.
but this guy also said that the Tibetan uprising last year was a race riot, as opposed to a revolt against oppression. Makes me think this guy works for parties w/ vested interest ( i.e Saudi Arabia and China ), as opposed to having valid cuases for humanity.
Damn, it just dawned on me. The Zionists really are the chosen people. I feel so inferior compared to them. I better bow my head right now. Everyone else should bow as well.
I pledge allegiance - to the flag - of the Jewish State of Israel - and to the parliamentary democracy - for which it stands - one nation - under God - except for the refugee prison of Gaza and the West Bank - with liberty and justice for all the Jewish citizens but not for the Arab Israelis or Palestinians.
America reminds me of a big brawny guy who yells, "I'm the greatest in the World!" but when he goes home, he dons an apron and mops the floor at the direction his Jew wife. You American are soooo screwed by your pols. LOL
You can bash the president of the United States on the floors of Congress. Go after Israel and you pay the consequences. That's power. Israel has waged the most successful black ops campaign to take over the US in history.
2 The so called direction that so called "we" are going is "wherever the Israel tells you to go".
3 There even is no "we" there are strong, unified, religiously and ethnically cohesive Jewish people with full (as you can see) control of the key positions in society and the rest of you multiracial, multireligious, lazy and stupid citizens. You lost long, long time ago and it is not coming back anytime soon.
Cenk, your boy is owned by the same people who own 99 % of congress, media, pentagon. His chief of Staff is a dual citizen MOSSAD agent. How AmeriKans accept this is beyond me.
Correct; he 'was not' a MOSSAD agent...'he IS' a MOSSAD agent.
He also made a direct choice by NOT volunteering for the United States Military if he felt so strongly about Gulf War 1. His choice shows what country his loyalty is too.
Jeez bro talk about trying to make a story of nothing to make a point that you admit you don't know much about.
I've been watching young turks for years but 2 say u don't even know who Chas Freeman is and jump to all these conclusions is a crock of shit.
Chas Freeman was the former ambassador to Saudi Arabia. You'd think if the Israel lobby had such an iron grip he'd never be considered or appointed but maybe someone who liked Israel?
I think there needs to be some reason in our approach to Israel. We have to be able to speak out against outrageous aggression towards the Palestines. I feel that most of their actions are justified, however, their actions in Gaza were ridiculous. This was especially the case when they bombed the red cross safe havens and obviously targeted civilians.
Yep now Israeli media is trying to discredit Obama's Presidency by saying he was born in Kenya.
So what he says about the Israel's and the Republican's saying "do not disagree with Israel AT ALL and hope to get away with it" So whats that tell ya?Repercussions for disagreeing. Vicious shit it is.They have Error on many of they're ways btw.
haha someone is spamming this video, yep look at the thumbs down.Man sock account shitheads ,I tell ya.lol.Shit Obama ,don't disagree with Israel in the slightest,we all will suffer the consequences.lol.Ridiculous.This has gone on long enough

Because most Americans supports Israel and Israel is an important symbol. Remember why Israel was created and the historical significance of that, as well as what it means to have a strong ally in the middle east.
Essentially we're on the same side as Israel, and Israel is monumentally important when it comes to fighting Islamofascism.
volcombillx3 2 years ago
islamofascism doesn't exist. Its a term that the neocons vomited up and you've lapped it up. Get real.

Kind of a funny argument because most of the problems we have in the middle east in the first place is because we dumped the Jews in the middle of someone else's country and basically told the people living there at the time to deal with it or get the hell out ^^
megamarsvin 2 years ago 8
You should read the book "The Israel Lobby" by John Mearsheimer and Steve Walt, it explains thouroughly about this problem- and no they are not anti-semites spewing hatred and disinformation.
SrhLun 2 years ago 2
People hold Israel to a different standard than other nations including Mersheimer and Walt. There are books that point out the faulty logic those authors.
A perfect example is your contention that the US fights Israel's wars. You think the US invaded Iraq for Israel? Just because Israel benefits from US actions doesn't mean the Israel Lobby is behind it. There are many examples when the US goes against Israel's interests, nobody brings it up though.

jtravis282 2 years ago
nice to c u have read a book.
I wonder if u realize 2-3 saudi sheiks could manage more than this. haha
pocnar 2 years ago
This still does not explain why you cannot be critical of Israeli policies and work in US government.
And most of the experts you speak of are extremely biased, pro-israel people.
Peace....
SrhLun 2 years ago
Be critical, but be critical for a good reasons. Can you give me some examples where Israel was wrong and the US supported it. My contention is this is no different than Britain, Canada, etc. and that people hold Israel to a different standard.
jtravis282 2 years ago
It is internationally recognized that the occupations of Gaza and the West Bank are "wrong" (unless you are in complete denial) and the US supplies weapons that are used in these occupations therefore supporting the occupation-there is your example. I feel this is a good reason to be critical of Israeli policies especially since the new incoming governement opposes the two-state solution to help bring peace to both sides.
SrhLun 2 years ago
On the contrary, the US does not agree with the occupation. It is U.S. policy that Israel must give up the occupied territories. The US also condemns Israel whenever they build new settlements. And the U.S, also says Israel must accept a two-state solution. This was part of Bush's Road Map to Peace, and it is still part of Obama's Administration that there should be a two state solution. There you go.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Then please explain to me why the US has consistently vetoed every UN resolution that has been passed including the one (UN Res. 1860) that Condaleeza Rice personally negotiated herself in Jan of this year!

The US did not want a ceasefire because they wanted to strengthen Livini and Fatah and weaken Hamas and Likud figuring this would make the peace process much easier.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Wrong. Her official explanation was about waiting to see if egyptian peace efforts would work. But why would she abstain on a UN resolution when she worked so hard in seeing it being passed? It was later revealed by the israeli PM Ehud Olmert that he had in fact called up president Bush, while he was in the middle of giving a speech in philidelphia no less, and told him to instruct Rice not to vote for it.
rencrow 2 years ago
The underlying reason is the same. Olmert told Bush if you vote for this it would hurt them in the upcoming elections. Olmert than bragged about it to boost the Kadima Party. Obama wouldn't even so much as say the obligatory - both sides need to stop. His silence on this whole affair was an endorsement of the conflict. Why? He would rather deal with Livini than Netanyahu. This conflict was not so much Isreal vs Hamas, as it was about giving moderates on both sides more power.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Thats not the point. The point here is that israel through the lobbies has yet again interfered with the affairs of the US. The abstination of condaleeza rice was an example of direct israeli interference. It has to stop. Last time I checked this was the US of America and not the US of Israel.
rencrow 2 years ago
Olmert was bragging, even lying for his own political gain. Get the real story.
Jan 13 (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday denied that a telephone call from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to President George W. Bush forced Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to abstain in a U.N. vote on the Gaza war."
"Sean McCormack, who was with Rice at the United Nations last week during debate on the U.N. resolution, said the remarks were "just 100 percent, totally, completely untrue."
jtravis282 2 years ago
I don't know what really happened, but I doubt it went down the way Olmert said. He was just trying to boost himself.
The real point is that the US did NOT want the ceasefire. And in case you didn't notice, many Arab Leaders including Egypt and Abbas/Fatah were criticized for being somewhat aloof at the time because they don't exactly support Hamas ya know.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Glad to see you know your stuff, however the US had one foot in and one foot out. (Israel flat out rejected the road map) Bush reneged on the road map and then denounced and refused to recognize Arafat and demanded he give up power while still supplying aid and weapons to Israel. This is not the subject however. The LOBBY and pro-Israelists that interfere in US politics is the problem I speak of here.Regardless of legitimate crticism, it should not interfere with government appointments.
SrhLun 2 years ago
The Road Map was derailed when Hamas wrestled control of Gaza from the Palestinian Authority. The government split and that was the end of the Road Map.
Find me where AIPAC interferred? Schumer is the one that got Freeman booted. But why doesn't anyone mention Obama's Number 1, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual who is a dual citizen Israeli? He didn't try to stop the nomination. Why do you lefties have a double standard when it comes to Israel? US has control of Israel, not the other way around.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Yea because its arab oil lobbies that kicked Freeman out of a position that the Director of national intelligence Dennis blair practically handed to him. Oh and of course lets not forget that the Chief of Staff also holds dual american and arabian citizenship. Darn those arab oil lobbies!
rencrow 2 years ago
Can you please name one Arab oil lobby?
AS far as I know, the Arab oil industry is run by OPEC so they do not even need an oil lobby.I'm sure there are American oil lobbies but have never heard of Arab oil lobbies
SrhLun 2 years ago
Freeman is a former American ambassador to Saudi Arabia and past president of the American-Arab Affairs Council.
Don't hear anyone complaining about this obvious conflict of interest. Again, Israel is held to a different standard. It's been ingrained into your minds by the left.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Right. No way people like Emmanuel, Lieberman, Schumer, Axelrod, Feith, Libby, Wolfowitz, Bernanke et al would ever be given power in the US
oldjoe5 2 years ago
Emmanuel wanted Freeman. That only throws your entire theory to crap.
Also, Schumer is a critic of Feith and Wolfowitz. But you don't say nothing about that.
Is your turban on too tight?
jtravis282 2 years ago
Surely you are not claiming that Freeman was not forced out by the Jewish Lobby?
oldjoe5 2 years ago
I am saying that Freeman was forced out by pro Israel advocates including non-Jews. And that Emmanuel who holds Israeli citizenship was in favor of Freeman, you don't mention that though.
Freeman was seen as one-sided, so of course pro-Israel congressional leaders would say no.
Most in Congress are pro Israel. But the US controls Israel, not the other way around. If the US tells Israel NO, Israel doesn't do it.
jtravis282 2 years ago
Every american national politician never goes against whatever Israel wants or does. It ain't because every american politician thinks Israel is perfect. It is due to the Jewish Lobby. This is glaringly obvious
oldjoe5 2 years ago
Israel is an ally. Just like Britain is an ally, or France is an ally. Do you think the US would show favoritism towards these nations too if they were in conflict? Israel is a nation in conflict,, Britain and France are not, so it is glaring that the US has a pro Israel bias. This is true. But this is no different than we would be with any other ally nation. We favor Korea over N. Korea. We favor Georgia and the Eastern block over Russia. Russia says unfairly too. Allies are allies.
jtravis282 2 years ago
How is Israle any ally to the US? I can list many reasons they are a detriment to the USA: they are into our (US taxpayer) pocket for over $3 billion per year; they use US made and provided weapons to slaughter Palestinians, creating hundreds of enemies for us, they interfere in a major way in US politics (see Chas Freemna, the neocons, the boycott of the meeting in Durban on racism, AIPAC, and so on).
But how are they are ally?
oldjoe5 2 years ago 2
I agree (and would add that the Israel influence in the US is overstated) but this is all beside the point, Freeman blamed the 'Israel lobby' to divert attention from his own shortcommings. The fact that none of his supporters (most of whom had never heard of him before he withdrew) make no apologies of the arguements against him prove that it worked.
DT570 2 years ago
Nonsense.
The Israel Lobby forced him out. He had no "shortcomings" until after the Obama admion named him and they wanted him out.
oldjoe5 2 years ago
All I'll say is that you have to be carefull with a guy who spends as much time in Suadi Arabia as Freeman then blames all his woes on Israel - We don't need another George Galloway.
DT570 2 years ago
Hmmm. First it was not Israel that forced Freeman out, now he had to go cuz he balmes all his woes on Israel.
Which is it? Did Israel interefere (yet again) with US official business or was it some other unidentified group that forced the withdrawal of a man named by the US president?

For people hoping on obama's "change" know this, Barrack is a Jewish name that originates from the word "baruch". Most of the Jewish devotees use the name "baruch" as their first names. The ex-PM of Israel, Ehud Barak also took that name commemorative of the name "baruch". The second name of Obama is also close to "Ahabah". Beth Ahabah is the name for a Jewish temple or synagogue.

But "why" do the polititions kiss Israels collective ass?
Is it their location in the mid-east? Friends of friends? Financial reasons?
Paetaor 2 years ago
I'm guessing it's a combination of all of the above. Israel's a highly strategic location as it's a gateway to many areas. Then there's probably the reason of trying to appeal to the religious right and trying to look good in general (at least way back in the past). But from a pragmatic standpoint, the location's probably the most important part. Thing is, the politicians seem to have forgotten that the reason Israel even exists is b/c of allied US power after WW 2, not the other way around.
Kaizou 2 years ago
Financial reasons and also background.
Jewish lobbies pay a lot of money to anyone willing to help them push Israel's agenda to Washington. And many congressman have Jewish roots or family members.

I'm not saying be a tyrant, but this isn't this ridiculous?
Kaizou 2 years ago
Well this only works on the assumption that politicians actually care about whats best for the country rather than themselves. If politicians are caused political pain then it does not serve their own interests in fact the pain harms them hence they will avoid the said pain at all costs. This is how pressure groups undermine democracy, by causing pain or by giving benefit too, the selfish needs of the few at the top they can competely circumvent democracy.
Its a bitch but its they way it is!

... by NOT volunteering for the United States Military if he felt so strongly about Gulf War 1. His choice shows what country his loyalty is too."
Well, pfsdetroit, I'm not going to speculate on things like that.
I just wanted to state the facts.
Your post made me laugh. You have amused me.
There's nothing more to say.
Also, please don't waste your time replying to this post.
You message will not even be opened.

I still cant for the life of me think of why the USA gives a shit about Israel.
Atheistprimate 2 years ago 8
Easy
1) Because the Christian believe that for the 2nd coming of Jesus to happened, Israel has to exist
2) They think anybody in the middle east who is not Jewish hate the U.S. for it's freedom
I dont think Israel is worth an American life or a dollar.

didn't he withdraw his name? uh yeah.
You'd think if the Israel lobby had such an iron grip he'd never be considered or appointed but maybe someone who liked Israel?
nahh..
