  • hipsters are just exploiting other cultures ... pure & simple

  • vin diesel plays D&D

  • Geek!

  • Greek the geek .............. I'm an Otaku geek defender though

  • Damn she's freeking hot. Haven't seen her on redeye lately

  • merdas de rótulos...

  • Shira, you're obsession with "geekdom" stems from your otherwise pompous hipster posturing. I'm glad you managed to raise money, but don't confuse "geeks" with "cool." Hipsters cannot simply lift the stigma of the term "geek", simply because the deem it to be "cool".

  • @clemenza1234 *your

  • In my opinion anyone who complains about how "geek culture is becoming too mainstream" or that people are "capitalizing" on geek culture are not really geeks. They are LOSERS BECAUSE WHO THE HELL CARES?

That said, Shira my god you are way, way too fine to be caring about dudes who still play role playing games, you don't deserve a geek you deserve a BALLER!

  • Yadda yadda yadda. Oh my! How in the world is it possible that someone who knows so little about something can talk so much???

  • i love shira lazar she can suck my lazar anytime babe

  • this is weird...she is lucky I cant use my power ring for evil.

  • who gives a shit. really??? what a dumb ''bitch''

  • Someone who has anime all over their room, has seen all episodes of Star Trek... Can repair/build/debate about computers... Who cares more about what their technology looks like than their hair ( I take good care of my hair though :3 hair straightener ftw )... LOL XD Who has mass collectibles that cost a lot of money... IE: Figures... Probably doesn't use a mac... and spits in Apple's face... That's what a real geek is ;3

  • @mewimi,

a geek is not what you think, the best exemple of a geek is steve wozniak, to whom you shall say thanks to have a computer at home, but you will never understand that

  • @olivierpicard18 Ruh oh, I smell an Apple fanboy o.o! RUH OH, red alert. RED ALERT, get your democracy out of the way Apple is coming. Apple invented the world! o.o!

I guess since I am a "PC" technician, and I work on primarily non Apple computers ( because I like business and there is no such thing as an "Apple specialist" only Apple fanboys )

I must be some kind of n00b, lawl... *AFK*

  • @mewimi,

Hum both are Turing machine my boy, if you are so stuck on "PC" then you don't understand both work the same way, and that Steve Wozniak was the one who brought that to another lvl...

  • I forgoted to say that you must have forgoted that Microsoft (i thake it you work on microsoft since you are a "PC" user, unless you are like ma linux user wich is less likely since you are a technician) started in a collaboration work on apple computer developping software.

  • @olivierpicard18 Oh my friend wanted to say something in response, he is also someone who works with computers.

He wanted to say "Is that a good thing?" lol

  • @olivierpicard18 Obviously the entire point of my post was to point out that they are the same, and that there is no such thing as an "Apple specialist"..... OBVIOUSLY? I fix computers, please don't waste my time with more assumed dribble.

Nevertheless, if you actually used an Apple computer FROM that Era, which I find unlikely, you would know there was nothing truly great about them, it was like someone pulling your teeth.

  • @MrGUERO1984 yeh me too :P she's damn cute XD

  • This Video is a load of BULLSHIT!!! this Society for Geek Advancement bring shame on geeks they are just trying to bring it into the mainstream like it says on there channel: "was founded upon the principles that we should all embrace our inner and outer geek and have fun while doing it." << I so disagree with is this it just ticks me off!!!!!

btw I agree with adjutant and Buckiller 100% there comments are so true!

  • BOOBS ...what was this vid about?

  • Does this chick ever stop and take a breath? man, if it wasn't for her cleavage, I'd have shut it off after the first 30 seconds.

  • Ha. This ignorant whore couldn't be less of a geek if she tried. Vapid and geeky don't mesh. She can try to talk fast and manipulate people into falling for her shallow hipster idiocy, but flapping her gums won't do it. Which is surprising, because if you read up on this chick online you'll realize that she's gained what pathetic little "e-fame" she has by opening her mouth for the right people. Same can be said for the generic Twitter/YouTube sluts in the original "Geek" Advancement video.

  • @trambopoline35 completely agree. I watched that video just now and I was disgusted. Not one of them were geeks or had anything to do with nerd/gaming culture [except for geordi :) ], its just bullshit. You got all these posers trying to act like they're nerds but they dont know shit. You get made fun of/become an outcast the majority of your life and then suddenly some people want to leech off the idea of being a geek to promote themselves.

  • @DazedSpy2 Geeks and Nerd are not the same they are both different and should not be classed together!

  • the only reason people watch this video is to look at this girl....damn.

  • It would have been a good video if it actually showcased geek culture

But it did NOT showcase geek culture, it showcased pop culture media. Twitter and Facebook are NOT geeky. They are end-user, consumer products that any kid can learn to use with ease (otherwise it would not be a good product)

Twitter-using idiots and real geeks are NOT in the same community, we are in different worlds entirely

Telling me you use twitter means absolutely nothing to me. You're just another dime a dozen

  • @adjutant shut up u pansy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're fucking stupid. Geeks are by naturally un-liked. It comes from a "geek show", where people would gawk at geeks, and they still are evne though it's a popular term now.

  • Okay.. so what if we don't WANT to open the "bubble". This woman is basically belittling the fact that ACTUAL geeks were and still are outcasted by mainstream society by saying it's not a matter of who suffered more or less.. She says it's about bringing the community together, in reality the actual geek community doesn't normally mesh well with the "hipsters". It really seems that they're trying to cash in on the term and popularize it for their own benefit.

  • Interest in things like programming, hardware and hacking usually tends to the interest of hardcore nerds.

  • They aren't geeks if all they do is social networking and surf the net and blog... but i agree with your premise that "geeks" don't just have to be computer geeks.

blog blog blog blog... god i hate people talking about their blogs. I like reading blogs of people that are interesting (programming, hardware stuff, hacking etc.) but I hate people talking about blogs in the mainstream.

  • None of this would have happened if there weren't money to be made. Sure it's for a "good cause" but, no one spends this much money talking about it unless their dipping their finger in the pot.
