@Redharry48 It was more about water toxicity from dissolved lead than ducks actually eating pellets but the law is dumb it did'nt state allowing you to shoot anything else with lead, either they allow lead or they dont to be shot in water systems always a loop hole. We still shoot .22s at turtles and gar so they messed up in writting that law.

@Theonegamefreak In "most" places these hogs are not natural. They are genetically enhanced stock that has turned feral. They are much much bigger, and consume far more food. Also because of their size, they don't have the natural predators that natural wild hogs have. Pretty much we made an apex creature in areas simply that can't handle them and humans are the only predator that can control them.
If we don't, these monsters will destroy countless other wild species.

@Elgastonable It's not hunting so much as it is pest control. Hogs are almost only controlled by bullets. Shooting hogs prevents thousands of dollars worth of damages and lost crops. If anything, the hog infestation brings about the usefullness of guns. As far as clean kills, bullets are as clean as clean can get. Rats are fed poison that when eaten, ruptures their blood vessels and rat traps don't always kill instantly. The only thing more painless than 1 bullet is 5 bullets.

@Ben85paintball The meat can be wildly variable in terms of suitability for table fare, but for the most part it's great; like leaner, stronger store-bought pork. That said, feral pigs do sometimes carry brucellosis, tularemia and trichinosis so very few charity operations will accept it anymore. I try to eat everything I kill, but the pigs have to be culled and no one should judge if there is some incidental waste.

@Elgastonable It's not hunting so much as it is pest control. Hogs are almost only controlled by bullets. Shooting hogs prevents thousands of dollars worth of damages and lost crops. If anything, the hog infestation brings about the usefullness of guns. As far as clean kills, bullets are as clean as clean can get. Rats are fed poison that when eaten, ruptures their blood vessels and rat traps don't always kill instantly. The only thing more painless than 1 bullet is 5 bullets.
