  • This was a GREAT video. Great job man.

  • nice effect

  • This is a great tip, I use to do this with my old Tascam DA-88. Thanks for your hard work with these videos. I haven't been recording in my own studio because I have been singing professionally for the past twenty years. I use to run my own studio in NYC before I went pro as an opera singer. The recording world has changed dramatically since those days. Thanks for all the advice, it has been very helpful.

  • Great but why not use the standard delay plugin? Use the stereo delay on the mono dubbed track and slightly delay one channel in the plugin, and no delay on the other channel. Less disk reading, less tracks, less plugins. Then nudge the dubbed track to the left a bit.

  • so you basically doing a Hass trick to the vocals....

  • What compressor did you use there?

  • this would be quite similar to the mid/side stereo mic technique. instead of delaying a double-track you have a second figure 8 mic, duplicate that and put one out of phase(short delay/phase produce similar effects).

Now i'm wondering what that would sound like as i've only tried it on piano so far.

  • name of program ...???

  • Wow, what a fantastic tip!

  • awesome!

  • you rock!! ty!!!

  • subbed, great vid!!

  • love this!

  • why not just make a 3rd double and pan them hard left right? :)

  • This really did helped me alot thanks im subscribing.

  • How do you get the inserts in the edit window?

  • OMG!! Can you do this on logic pro 9? PLEASE DO IT! I've been looking technique for this for a long time, but I need you to do it on logic! please please please! :')))

  • @nav34d I use Logic too. Of course you can do the same in any program.

  • i love it, so exciting. what is the song

  • @britsluver It's a portuguese song called "Minha Rocha" by Keilan

  • how many vocal tracks is normal to have in a chorus vocal. I see pomplamoose video songs and they seem to have a lot. two doubles wide panned and a lead? is that common. i know that with harmonies it can be even more. Where would you do panning for something like a fleet foxes song?

  • i love it

  • wow thanks the song sounds good!!!

  • can you make a video on pasting and moving your chorus around? even when mines is in place it sounds of sync with the beat and maybe even a second slower. if anybody can help i would really appreciate it. thank you in advance.

  • @TopNotchPres You need to work in a grid mode. The only way.

  • This is by far the best Vocal Widening tutorial out there. Thanks Graham :)

  • Great tutorials Graham - Thanks

  • Great information... Thank you for posting these!

  • do you record christ-rock? you do, don't you?

  • pimp!

  • the haas effect!

  • hahaha woooow for some reason I was totally surprised by that like, manual stereo widening delay. Nice trick! I'm definitely gonna use that a lot since I work mostly with samples I'm given.

  • Hey Graham, just wanted know if i send(insert) my vocals to a group channel to save cpu will this create problems. If i want to duplicate my lead vocal 3 times with the same vst's on each channel it can be stressful on my cpu. Because there grouped in to one channel does that effect the panning. Hope that makes sense. thanks

  • @trackmedixuk Just send your vocal tracks to a STEREO track, that way it will maintain your panning.

  • hey, interesting! Portuguese, my language :-D

  • great!

  • i love the tutorial mixer delay does something similar to this right???

  • nice!

  • brilliant!

  • Freakin awesome! I'm so inspired.

  • Awesome!!

  • nice trick ...thx man

  • Great job

  • OMG someone actually disliked one of his videos? IT CAN'T BE lol

  • amazing, thanks Capo

  • thank you so much !

  • amazing! thanks man

  • nice trick, but you have to be careful: too much delay will make the voice sound separated - too little difference will result in a phaser-effect.

  • cool stuff

  • sounds really cool!

  • this song sound hot!

  • Just found it!!! I speak portuguese and I really dig the lyrics.

The song is: Minha Rocha (my rock). Great worship song! Best part: 2:50 :)

  • Great Graham! but why is this vocal track in portuguese? I'm from brazil and wan't to know why is that. Cheers

  • Cool tip and an awesome track too. Can I ask who it is?

  • Cool, I knew about this trick. Still great mention though. I really like this trick. It's better than using an effect in my opinion.

  • Cool trick Graham! Awesome video once again!!

I always track triples (one center, one left and one right). The singer of my band can time quite well.

What's your opinion on using the technique you explained in the video vs. the technique I mostly use?

  • soooooooooo good!

  • That is so damn cool! Thanks Graham for your generosity,
