Kubrick était gigantesque. Je préfère aussi son Oeuvre (surtout à partir de Dr Folamour) à celle de Godard. Cela écrit, ça n'a pas empêché ce dernier de réaliser de très grands films (notament Sauve qui Peut (la Vie), Pierrot le Fou, Notre Musique, Vivre sa Vie,...).
Il faut savoir, et cela s'applique également pour des personnes telles que Céline, Choron, Gainsbourg, Nabe, Baskova, Crumb, Klima et autres... faire les différences entre la personne, le personnage et l'Oeuvre.
Notice that the dramatic stair-case they run down is the same one that Audrey Hepburn strides down in a glam red dress yelling to Fred Astaire 'Take the picture, take the picture' in Funny Face. Great location in two great films.
Actually, I finally got to see "Bande a part." It is amazing in a lot of ways, although it has aged. I thought it was quite similar to Truffaut's "Shoot the Piano Player."

And here is that famous scene in which the characters in Bande à part race through the Louvre. Most of the tourists we saw there last summer were approximating this scene!

I have watched the scene in Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" 20 times and I did not realize that they were referencing a Godard film. Thanks.
