hey p-51s rule! i stood next to one its alot bigger then u would think! 3blades are good u know! but then again 4 blades is better! but those planes are wonderfull anyway!
When it comes to Corsairs and p51's you don't know what you are talking about. the Corsair was produced witha three four blade , as the F4u1 A through D and beginning in 1944 as the f4u4 through f4u7 with four plades. the top speed for the p51 d was 450 miles per hour and the top speed for the f4u4 was one mile an hour better. It was also reputed to be a better fighter at low altitudes.
The Corsair was produced long after WW2 e and served in Korea and even shot down a mig
Excuse my spelling, that's with 3 Blades as the F4U1 A through D and $ Blades as the F4U4 through 7. There where also versions produced by Goodyear under the FG1-d and later FG4 headings. See Corsair Vought F4U-4, FG-4 1945 Maintenance & Erection (part# AN01-45HB-2)
The version pictured in this video is and f4U1d ar fG1D which served from 1944 until the wars end, superceeding the F4u1, flattop and Bubble top versions, the F4u1a with a Blown Canopy and the F4u1c which was an F4u1A with 20 Mm Cannon. Bubble tops were flat top cannopied versions with small bubbles for rearview mirrors
Awsome plane and an amazing fighter. He said it was the best plane he had the priviledge to fly during his career. Even in his 90s he's still intimidating as a Marine Colonel should be. Semper Fi and great video of a great plane.
Umm, the A7 corsair is not a "jet version" of any other corsair. The A7 Corsair is THE A7 Corsair and a completely different plane. The only thing these two planes have in common is the name.
I beg to differ, since I was attached to an actual A-7 Navy Squadron in the early 80's. Vought made both WW2 version AND the jet version which is why it was produced officially as the "Vought" A-7 Corsair II.
Feel free to verify on your own using the internet.

Was just saying it's structurally a totally different plane. There is no jet version of the F4U Corsair. The jet Corsair is the A7.

Please contact me if you find a video viewing the (A7-Corsair)
Which was a JET version used in the Vietnam War.
Thanks.
