you don't need a program to start a program automatically. That's just one more time and cpu consuming program in between you and the frontend. Put it in your startup folder and change the settings in msconfig.
yes, it is specifically designed for cars. the install was somewhat of a pain, but much cheaper doing it yourself ;)
Cost depends on how good you want the setup to be. mine is sort of on the low end. 1GHz Jetway, 512MB ram, m1-atx PSU... for all the information you need search for "mp3car" on the web... also make sure to visit the forums at that site, that's where all the real information is.

there's a freeware program you can find online... it's called startup make my Mike Lin, google it and you'll find it!
