  • Love that 1st beat - sounds like one of the tracks from LL Cool J's "Walking With A Panther".If I ever get a decent kit, you're the sort of player I'd like to have playing it so I could actually hear what it sounded like from the audience! Epic playing as always!!

  • Great sounding kit, and I agree on the Sade, but first it was Sade's Smooth Operator, and then he went into Sweetest taboo, both great songs.

  • Did I hear a bit of Sade's sweetest taboo towards the end there?

  • @170adamb yes.

  • @squeezemylever5 this video was recorded two months before ramon played in the drumoff.

  • does anybody else notice he playing that one part from ramon sampsons solo for the GC drumoff at 1:46?

  • I just got this snare, can't wait to jam with it, thanks for the video!

  • What kind of head is on that snare I don't recognize the logo?

  • @UtwoBed Evans G1 (with a Tama logo...)

  • I curently have a Tama Starclassic Performer BB 14/5'5 snare, I am now looking for a snare with less like;. crack I guess I should say, not too loud rimshot, but a nice round one, and good sustain/ring... Would this staphonic be the deal? or are there better snares for that? I'm going to use it in Funk/ Fusion/Latin...

  • @Plaguemix you should probably get a steel snare drum for those types of music

  • @pescalante2 well.. I got the Sonny Emory Signatre by Yamaha..

  • @pescalante2 The guy wants less rimshot and you tell him to get a steel snare drum?

  • What crash please ?

  • What drumkit?

  • @nihongo94 Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Series - Vintage Natural finish

    • 24"x 16" Kick Drum

    • 12" x 8" Tom

    • 14" x 14" Floor Tom

    • 14" x 5.5" Yamaha Brass Snare (w/ die-cast hoops)

  • @memphisdrumshop

You aren't using the Yamaha Brass snare drum here. It's the Tama Starphonic Maple snare drum. ;-)

  • @nihongo94 aluminum die cast hoops on the, SD 4105 brass snare.

It's a discontinued model. Tommy Aldridge uses this as his main snare.

  • Pee Wee is the bomb!

  • men you play great, and snare sounds great

  • That end bit sounds like Sade- Sweetest Taboo...nicely done my man.

  • @Drumminsince89 Ha I just wrote exactly the same comment.I always struggled with that beat, doing the snare hits with the right hand makes perfect sense

  • sounds very nice! Perhaps you could tighten the snare wire and the batter head some more so it has more of a punch than a rattle to it. That would sound incredible.

  • @metalliclark This is with the stock head aswell, just to remember. But yeah, Its just a test. Imagine what sounds you can get out of this thing!

  • why the k crashes that you can purchase in Italy don't sound as good as that?

  • whats your secret of the amazing sound of your toms and bass drum

  • What ride are you using here ?

  • @eathg9

Zildjian 22" K Series Light Ride Cymbal

  • The best snare I have ever heard in my entire life!

  • do you think yall will ever do a video on the tama warlord snares?

  • ahhh man the toughest thing to decide is what to get! The bubinga or the maple? I got a nice collectors series maple that i am in love with but this one also sounds amazing. The bubinga has a totally different tone so i might go for that but wow...these drums sound great!

  • skater15153, the bubinga will definitely have a lower tone, maple is kinda midsy...

my recomendation = stick with the collectors

  • I wasn't planning on replacing my DW collectors...just adding to my snare line up haha since I do some studio work i'd like to have another sound I can pull out

  • OMG! i want it

  • YES ive been waiting for you to put these up

  • I like the Bubinga the most.
