You can still play the game of life as well as use the secret keys. I mean if we weren't supposed to use them why would they be here. Plus the fact that your pineal gland basically produces DMT (the most powerful psychedelic known to man) every night while you dream. In fact most of the chemicals in psychoactive drugs can be found in our own brain.
The universe holds many secrets but psychoactive drugs are no secret. Not only that but these substances have been made readily available and easily consumable. Its a very interesting coincidence.
I think that when we are younger we are more inclined to use them. Maybe some deep subconscious need for spiritual evolvement. Not every psychotive drug experience is positive, but neither is everthing that you have to deal with in you life. I think later in life you outgrow the need for these things because your a bit more spiritualy evolved, and may see these things as unnecessary. But Im only 28 so thats just a theory.
just one more thing, myself and my partner had a superb conversation during and after listening to your video, she kinda agreed to taking phsycoactive drugs, but she thought the decusion was definitive,
Put on my dad hat,Brilliant i like that.your diction is superb.I see who reece gets it from now.Hes going to go a long way i know that, nice video steve
Thing is, if we say we should concern ourselves with a 3D physical world, psychoactive substances are... a 3D physical thing, aren't they? They occupy time and space and work on our bodily brain cells and all. I was under the impression that it seems a cheat only because all those experiences can be dismissed as a hallucination, completely physical effect, little to no spirit involved.
If drugs do initiate a genuine spiritual experience, and is a cheat merely because it's physically-based... then I would think the same should go for pronouncing dietary restrictions for spiritual purposes (like vegetarianism) a cheat, and ritual poses and movements (like yoga or some Hermetic rituals), physical representations like symbols or statues of gods, sounded mantras or statements of intention, spiritually-charged items, and all other correspondents.
i really enjoyed this perspective on it cos it's easier for me to relate to. i find it so much easier to just have control over what i see, for example i hate alcohol, on another subject i hate smoking, the feeling of restriction i just won't tolerate, predominantly breathing.
and what you were saying about organic substances and chemically manufactured substances, well look at venom, that's pretty natural but obviously dangerous.. i hope someone relates to what im on about lol namaste:)
how do you define what life is "about"? How do you define "cheating"? How do you define what were are "supposed to" do? I think individuals have to decide these things for themselves. there are legal restrictions and moral compasses, but other than that, I dont understand your question - how could one go about proving whether or not we were "supposed" to do drugs? its not something one can come to an answer about...
I like the computer game analogy, I hadn't thought about it that way before but now I'm wondering if psychoactive drugs are meant for people who would not have found their spiritual path otherwise. The reason I say this is because I've met people who were not remotely interested in anything spiritual until they had an experience with a psychoactive drug and that may also be why they work so well for some and not for others? I don't really know enough about them but Just a thought :)
I think it's impossible to tell. Given personal histories (religious, etc.), traumatic experiences, genetics, education, and just experiences as a whole (exploration of the world, reading, visual stimulation like TV, etc.), who knows what combination will result in an interest for spirituality.
I use the earth created entheogens from time to time in vision quests and for consciousness expansion, but they are adjunctive and used sparingly in relation to natural inner development. I have found them to be quite effective when used in such fashion as sort of an "accelerator" or "amplifier" of consciousness and awareness. But I keep their use to a once in a while protocol, so that inner development is not DEPENDENT upon them to evolve. They are very powerful tools.
Steven, the question you pose is a good one, I hear perspectives on this daily it seems. The idea that everything is neutral helps me greatly. I'm not so sure we are MEANT to be here (in 3D) in any particular way -but to just experience ourself in relationship with it as we step into the moments of our life -into the life experience(s) the relationship itself creates. Whatever they may be. Every moment we step into is meaningful and of value. It is not possible to 'get it wrong'....
what ARE the parameters of this 3D life? would the psychoactives not be WITHIN the parameters...seeing as how they ARE? the possibility of their use is possible...seeing as how it IS possible and we have, are and will.
they are meant to be used respectfully...as in, don't dive into the withinity if you're afraid of the possibility of infinity. don't dive in if don't want to see....want to expand your perception.
take them. don't take them. they ARE here. and they have a LONG history of use.
I found your perspective here refreshing. I've never taken psychoactive drugs, and I sense something amiss with the perspective that I need a substance from outside of myself in order to progress spiritually.
I think we're in this limited 3D reality for the purpose of experiencing it on its own terms. And it's a wonderful, potent thing.
I don't think I would gain any more insight from drugs than I've gained from observing my own life experience.

Then why where the keys made in this reality, if they were not meant to be made? to tempt us? I'm not sure.
Great video though! :)
