EMG has it's own potentiometer which is much smaller than standard one.

So if you change whole pickup to EMG, you can put the battery in the electronics hole.

hey is there a tailpiece, i could not really see one and also a small modding question i too have a sg faded and if i put:

gibson dirty fingers in the bridge

gibson 57 classic in the neck

bigsby b5 gibson style tremelo

and some locking tuners on it

do you thing that would be wise choice, thanks

I myself had used 57 classic before.

SG faded has no sharp high compared to SG standard or SG 61'.

So if you like original vintage SG sound, it would be a good choice.

I can't tell about the other things.

If you need tremolo, just put it. :)

I'm not sure about them but to talk with pick up things, 85 on neck position would be better I think.

The neck position of SG has no sharp edge at all. So it would be very edgeless with 81 on neck position. 85 has little bit more high than 81, so I recommand 85 or 89.

But it's just my guess an opinion.

i would go for dave mustaine livewires they are more organic and i think have way more tone than the emgs but still have all the positive aspects of active pickups and they r pretty damn metal
