  • @13justin666 ok first thing don't hate me cuz my name.secondly my very best friend happens to be emo and I am goth.and thirdly what the fuck are you talking about!?!?!? Your being really stupid and the book is the best thing I ever bought! So take that dumb ass!

  • @blackemogothgirl666

Well I already despise you because of your contradicting username which you're probably unaware of apparently. You can't be emo and goth

For one thing emo is gone

Its become a fad and are all scene kids now

Plus any real goth fucking hates emo kids since they pretty much ruined music and clothing stores and replaced it with a bull shitty version of what once was goth

    Ok video

Though I don't think a goth should take advice from anything but themselves

    Not a book

  • I love Jilian!I want my mom to get me this book so bad!I'm glad that my mom accepts me loving black and being goth and just being who I am.I discovered the gothic culture a couple years ago and for me it started with this book about this goth girl who is an outcast in her town since she was born and she meets this new goth guy that moves in and it's a series that I recamend.it's called vampire kisses.Anyway since then I got so interested that I've become a goth and will never go bak!

  • I loves Jilian

  • I need to get that book for my mother. She doesn't understand the Goth style, or anything so i think it would help her accept that i love the Goth Life Style and why i'm apart of it.

  • my mom got this book for me It's my second bible :)

  • i act the same with every one goth or not you still are a person, if ur a duch i will try my best to ignore u, if you mess with me i will try to kick your ass. and if your nice i will be nice too.

  • Your Really Pretty O.O<3 Wow <3

  • Sesbastian,

I'm not trying to offend you, I'm merely speaking my mind. All your videos are speaking to the outside world about what a goth likes or how to be a goth or how to talk to a goth ect. when in reality, they are very trivial; pointless. When you're goth, you can't hide from it - it's just who you are. People don't need to be tought how to be goth. You're sticking a huge label on yourself and we all very well understand - you are goth.

  • @CarrionMacabreDeath what she's just trying to do is either help the new kids, or explain to adults, got, must everyone complain.

  • @CarrionMacabreDeath actually, i have come across some emo kids that do not want to be emo but want to be goth, and some want to know about it im my eyes makes it easier for them to perpetrate it better , posers are always going to be posers, we used to call them trendys in the 80's

    D, ,

  • @4evrpeace1 Honey, that's called 'YOU' - don't feel like ya gotta label your style. Just roll with it! I say, if people wanna think I'm goth - they can. If people don't think I'm goth - that's nice. What's important is that I see the beauty in darkness. I'd have to call myself a Cloth, because I like to mix in color, or a Both because I prefer dark blues. That would just get all confusing! :)

  • Not all devil worshippers, not all depressed, yes, yes, yes, not all witches, not all vampires, also, not all death-obsessed, and BTW I don't understand what is meant by 'types of goth' -types? As in personality or style?

  • @AspergirlSithstress it's just to make it easier for non goths, that and, a lot of other goths tends to group other into stuff too.

  • i would not consider this book as more than the vampire codex for goths . anyone can push common sense and sell it. check out Voltaire goth book.the beginnings are different for allot of us who are the ones who paved the way for the kids. so i find it hard to see it as the same thing. when it was music, the cure didn't look that way in the beginning , ministry was not the same, we didnt have Not Gothic to shop at. we made our own clothes this is like the goth walk through the snow ogs

    D, ,

  • @DSNightwalker your brilliant

  • @bluBlaq33 Some say it is so, and the funny part my middle name is Sebastian . so it is funny about this girl.

    D, ,

  • Jillian Venters is awesome. Sometimes she attends Norwescon in Seattle. I caught her on a goth panel there.

  • WHOA!! Guys! Goth is a mindset of loving darker things and seeing beauty in melancholy and darkness. The music and fashion came WAAY after! Gothic existed before post punk, in the 1900's when the architecture set a certain dark mood to inspire the literature like dracula and frankenstein. It's a mind set and the outside appearances and music taste comes in afterwards. people who base it on the fashion and music and "the scene" are probably just in it as a phase and arent truly attached to it :/

  • @OhMyGodJane Back a few centuaries. Gothic literature was 1800s, and the achitecture was medieval (1600s type time era) Goth is one of, if not the, oldest sub-cultures around

  • @fyrefairy123 oh gosh thank you dear for correcting me on my dates!! Numbers are my bane ^_^;;

  • @OhMyGodJane Very good comment

  • @OhMyGodJane Goth is a music based subculture, it came out of the music.

  • and by the way the music, clothes, makeup does not make you who you are.what makes up a person is their carecter their personality who they represent themself as to others .

  • The Goth culture first came from the fashion and music then is became a real culture it was something new but now we have many types of Goth and basically we are a big joke a horrible punch line to not only the media but to the rest of society .People look at the stereotypes and say yes thats Goth and everyone goes with it .WE shouldn't knock baby bats we were lost and misguided made mistakes to and eventually we grew out of that.

  • I feel the book is geared towards "baby bats" and 11 year olds who want to wear their capes to school(this is seriously been asked by a fan of hers). The book honestly offers nothing for a person who has been apart of the subculture for a while now. I'm sure it can be a interesting read if I were new to the subculture but you can honestly find most of what she speaks about in her book on her website. It's almost exactly copy and pasted.

  • @BatcaveFan I don't believe that she was any of those things, however I do believe that she is misguided, and thinks she needs a Coven in order to be interested in a darker aesthetic or mindset, which she does not, She says "goth " 1000 times, I always though people where posers when they had to state what it was they where into numerous times, also her look is rather outdated(as is many goths) I've updated, however most seem to be stuck in the past and not the beautiful nightshade colored one

  • @BatcaveFan she constantly talks about baby bats yet shes the biggest one, but to me fashion and music defines no one, it's rather superficial.....which wasn't that the purpose of what the "subculture" tried avoid???

I only comment on these videos because I dislike people being terribly misguided and lacking a middle ground in terms of perspective, life is neither BLACK nor WHITE, I feels she's trying very hard to fit into a box neatly

  • @bluBlaq33 then don't comment, period, you're being rude, and annoying. Some people do find these videos, and the book gothic charm school helpful. Unlike the rude elder goths who just yell at me when I walk around in the nice cloths I have, which just happen to be black, these people are trying to help.

  • The book was pretty useless....and full of all the most common misconceptions about the subculture....i would suggest skimming it at the bookstore for entertainment.

  • @faeriedragonxx maybe to you, but to a lot of younger kids getting into goth for the wrong reason, it's helpful.

  • @HatterMRULEZ I wouldn't rule out it being potentially somewhat helpful, but totally not the most helpful

  • I have that book I haven;'t read all of it but the part I read is a good book and i llove your gothic attire I am gothic myself keep doing what you doing.

  • You look crazy familiar! Do you go to QHHS? xD

  • You look crazy familiar! Do you go to QHHS? xD
