  • I wish he won the oscar for this. He gives a great performance and he is adorable!!

  • p.s. I'm a dude

  • This is the one scene in the world that no matter how many times I watch it I always cry.

  • i love this scene toni collette is such a good actress i wish they wldnt have canceled united states of tara

  • I wish all movies made the effort to be as original and as moving as this one was.

  • I mean, I woulda gave the bitch the Oscar as soon as the scene wrapped.

  • Great acting - pity that neither Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette are anywhere to be seen nowadays.

  • Chills...and tears.

  • this is the best part of the movie, i seen it when it first was released it scared the shit out of me , but it was a good film...

  • I always start to tear up when he starts talking about grandma.

  • This scene never fails to make me cry.

  • i coudn't hear a thing...

  • I'm not crying. Although I have a "fuzzy" feeling.

I don't know why - but I feel empty when it comes to films and just cannot cry.

    P.S I'm a dude.

  • what's extra great about this scene is that no music is needed to convey the emotional moment, it's all from the conversation.

  • I bet if M. Night Shyamalan saw this, he'd be depressed on how his career went.

  • My grandma visits me regularly too and her answer to me is always the same: GET THE FUCK OFF THE COMPUTER AND STOP FAPPING!!!

  • flawless direction

  • Wow...I haven't even seen this movie yet b/c I thought It would be scary---but this scene was soo emotional. It got to me & now I'm about to watch the whole movie. BTW: Joel & emily look like twins.

  • YAH VOLVO!

  • No words needed, frekin' good, simply frekin' good. I wish M. Night would come back to basics, and bring us another masterpiece like this one.

  • Minor plot hole: "She said you went to the place where they buried her.."

    "They don't know they're dead..." (? )

  • @NoCinemaForYou The grandma is not a ghost that is stuck on Earth she is one that visits occasionally

  • @NoCinemaForYou Some do some don't.

  • this scene proves this movie had a flawless script n amazing actors...no soundtrack in the background n yet it always moves me to tears

  • Toni Collette is just brilliant in this scene. My God, she just owns the audience.

  • This is such an amazing movie!!!

  • reminds me of my coming out story..

  • @zanderesqueda hahahaha mine too a lil

  • one of the greatest scenes of all time!!!!!

  • this moving is amazing, they don't make movies like that anymore.

  • I don't quite know why but this is hands down one of the best scenes of all times. Sixth Sense is one of my favorite movies but there is something about this scene that stands out from the rest of the movie (acting, direction, script... perfect). Thanks for posting this.

  • Ughh, im so close to cryin...wait wait...i am cryin):

  • totally crying right now :'(

  • look at my face, yes

  • milf

  • I need to be studying for a government test, and instead I'm balling my eyes out...

  • Oh my G_d I'm teliing you.. I CANNOT watch this without getting all misty eyed!!! What a powerful and moving scene!!! Gets me every time!!!

This movie was great. And what a twist at the end- NEVER would have expected that. Definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. I can watch it over and over again and not get bored with it. Also love the scene with the couple and the Burmese Sapphire ring when the woman says "Does he have dark wavy hair and chestnut eyes?" HAHAHA!!! Hysterical!!!

  • @Rocknrollbabe68 Makes you wonder what M Night's doing with his movies now.

  • GOD i love toni colette.

  • Most of this movie sticks in my head. So fucking unforgettable, not even including the ending.

  • I'm right there with you- definitely my absolute favorite seen of this movie. I watch it over and over again and I never get tired of it. Makes me tear up every time!!! : (

So touching!!! Great acting on the parts of Haley Joel Osment and Toni Colette...they are so genuine and believable!

  • "Where is she?"

    "Standing next to my window."

If I was the mother, I would've shit my pants.

  • @Lunalseid HAHA!!! Well said! Me too!!!

  • Was bawling my eyes out at this point Lol :L

Lil boys an amazing actor tbh :)

  • @ItsMinniePeeps Couldn't agree with you more...

  • Toni Collette is awesome.

  • parezco perro de Pavlov...veo esto y empiezo a llorar automaticamente.

  • what the hell happened to M Night Shyamalan?

  • She should of won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this. Her Philadelphia accent is spot on.

  • I still think the scene where the father of the little girl who died finds out that his wife had been poisoning her is a little bit sadder than this scene, but this scene is still very moving.

  • 23 ppl are gay and have no lives, but not gay as in homo gay as in retarded. see thomas! im not racist to gays!... but really this movie is awesome.

  • 23 people have no heart.

  • *sobbing*

  • i love it when he says, "standing next to my window."

  • i love this scene its the bests

  • oh fuck.... my name is cole

  • I cried, too.. But now at least i'm not afraid to go to bed, back when i was a kid i shit my pants and now the only thing I see is great acting..

  • haley joel osment, one of amerca's finest actors

  • @queentriggerfish Another forgotten child actor?

  • damn ...i cried o_o

  • pure genius

  • fran

  • i watch this clip every day several times, this is the best scene.

  • @BoghosAris several times a day???

  • oh my god

  • simply upscale that scene/ lot of LOVE :D

  • i could watch this scene 1,000 times and always tear up

  • @RomanVapors weak

  • @RomanVapors "she say's shes sorry she just likes it a lot" tearing up now....

  • this is when m night was cool

  • This is my favorite scene too! Makes me tear up every single time. Toni Collette is such an amazing actress.

  • 22 people are ghosts who don't like seeing their dead friends on you tube so they disliked it. Best acting ive ever seen by a kid amazing...

  • Toni did this in one take. They did all of Haley's shots first, and then turned the camera on her and did this one take. And it was so good they didn't go in for a closer shot, they left it as is. One of the most phenomenal takes in cinema I think!

  • @jeumort where did you hear/read that? that's so interesting! love hearing stuff like this!!

  • @jposkitt It was on the DVD extras, in an interview with M. Night Shyamalan I think. He said it because you'll notice the scene gets progressively closer on Haley's face, but not Toni's, because her performance was a single take.

  • @jeumort ah! i see! i own the dvd, too, but it's been awhile since i've absorbed it all in...will have to check it out again, haha...yeah, Toni's performance is SUPERB!! : ) I remember when this film came out; I was a few years older than Haley J. Osment and thinking omg...i'm not going to sleep tonight...or ever!! i had to use the bathroom and was terrified that some random dead lady would go walking past the door, lol. It's amazing how everyday ppl (as actors) can leave such lasting FX.....

  • Probably the best scene from any movie ever. Then again, this movie is full of scenes this powerful. Who says a scene has to be loud and full of action to be good?

  • Toni Collette deserved a Oscar for this scene.

  • Do I make her proud

    This movie is awesome

The other horror movies are always trying to frighten people

They dont usually have substance or message inside....

  • I love this scene <3

  • That boy is freakishly good

  • Toni Collette steals this scene with her emotional reaction to what he is telling her. That is why she got an Oscar nomination. Some of the best acting I've seen. She's amazing.

  • "when bruce willis was dead at the end of sixth sense i JIZZED IN MY PANTS"

  • I always cry at this scene :'(

  • i love living under a rock. first time i saw this movie was a year or so ago and i flipped when i saw the ending. thank you sir rock for keeping out spoilers

  • BRUCE WILLIS IS A Child Psychiatrist

  • haha tactical insertion at the start

  • @thompsonmatthew HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH U GOT IT! XD

  • I love this litlte boy's acting and he's voice :)

  • This is my favorite scene from the film also. Toni Colette's performance is absolutely brilliant; she shows not only talent here, but genius in my opinion - naturalistic, understated film acting at its very best (pay special attention to her reaction beginning at around 3:43). Haley Joel should have won the Oscar that year.

  • To any Kingdom Hearts fans like me who may be here: Haley Joel Osment did the voice for Sora about three years after this. He has always been an incredibly good actor, both in movies and voice acting. This is an amazing film.

  • this is why we love movies

  • isn't that emily osment's brother or something the look so alike

  • I see good food at reasonable prices

  • ohmigosh. i love the mom. how can she be so natural??

  • What drugs are you one child!?!? You are not hanging out with Marcus anymore!

  • OMG even i wanted 2 burst out cryin and hug them for that performance. amazing

  • omfg, I love you, because i PROMISE i LOVE this part too...lol i was trying to find the movie to FWD to this part!

  • Hey, it's my favourite scene, too!

  • ' grandma says hi. ' creapiest sentence ever!

  • Its my favorite scene, too!!!

Algo de nuestras vidas, me imagino, debe verse reflejado ahí...

    Saludos desde Chile

  • My faverout scene aswell :)

  • This scene makes me cry a river every single time.

  • @tauruscanine me to.

  • Toni Collette is really big in this scene

  • This movie scared me shitless when i was little. oh lord the nightmares!

  • it gave me goosebumps

  • Superb performance by Haley Joel Osment but for me, Toni Colette is simply outstanding here. If this doesn't move you, its time to go back to your own planet...

  • Powerful, beautifully acted scene! Also my fave from the movie.

  • Damn scene makes me cry every single time.

  • Man, this scene breaks me down every single time!!! I love this movie!!

  • This is the only Bruce Willis movie that made me cry

  • @maeflower522 what u mean fifth element didnt do it for u?

  • @maeflower522 I don't know about you, but Die Hard (1988) made me cry. The scene where he's in the bathroom, and he cut his foot on the broken glass, and he's telling Reginald VelJohnson's character to pass on his message to his ex-wife. Tears were literally streaming down my face.

  • @maeflower522 This is the only M. Knight Shyamalan's movie that made me cry

  • @gtsgtsgt This is the only Haley Joel Osment movie that made me cry.

  • @PinheadMcGee He was in another movie?

  • @SulfurMonkey He was also in "Forest Gump", "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" and a few others that I can't think of right now.

  • @maeflower522

    What about "ARMAGEDDON?"

  • @maeflower522 what about Unbreakable?

  • @maeflower522 The only Bruce Willis movie that made you cry?!?!?! Didn't you see Live Free or Die Hard?!?!?

  • @maeflower522 Armageddon didn't make you cry?!!You've gotta be kidding me!!

  • @maeflower522 What about Tears of the Sun? That one for me was just as emotional...

  • @maeflower522 Actually his acting in the Last Boy Scout made me cry.

  • @maeflower522 his other movie Armageddon made me cry as well!

  • The part where Cole says "she says she saw you dance" and his mom looks over in disbelief always gets me.

  • superb acting by both!

  • He's even better in AI. I mean, a kid pretending to be a robot, pretending to be a kid with feelings? How hard can it get?

  • What an incredibly powerful scene. And it's just the actors' performance too. No musical score, nothing. Shyamalan had balls back then.

  • This makes me cry EVERY TIME.

  • @TH3FACE

and i have the nerve to watch it over and over again, just crying my eyes out, LOL!! a very touching scene!!

  • The part that got me is when he is in the tent in the house and the girls has somehting coming out of her mouth and looking at him..O_O

  • I'm ready to communicate with you now.

  • Toni was robbed of her Oscar!

  • mamamaamamaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Oh god I came so close to crying!

  • this was a great scene.

  • I cried again for this film after 4 years , it reminds me Ghost in the mean time..

    Just amazing moments.

  • Bruce Willis is dead all along.

There. I've just saved you two long hours.

  • @TheMikeyReilly You are a jerk!

  • @sp8211a Hahaha.

I only remember posting that comment in a drunken haze. My apologies. :P

  • yeah best scene. doesnt make sense this film tho..how can he not know hes dead? a year on and we are supposed to believe hes never tried to speak to anyone else and hasnt sussed ppl are ignoring him? plain ridiculous! what about trying to speak or touch his wife or anyone?!? what about his own funeral?! and how can he even pick stuff up? how does he arrange to be this kids physcologist? what about when he gets into bed..it completely suspends belief, he would realise he was dead from day 1

  • @dageezerboi It's a film.

  • @dageezerboi well the ghosts only see what they want to see so he probly didnt want to see all of the obvious sogns that he was dead

  • @dageezerboi The idea is that as a ghost, you are essentially stuck in a place that lies between the physical world and a creation of your own mind. You interact with the world in a way that is familiar to you, and are simply ignorant of any part of reality that contradicts what you knew. Similar to how people subconsciously block out traumatic experiences.

Regardless of whether you believe any of this or not, this is the plot device the movie is going off of.

  • @dageezerboi dam your dumb, or you did not watch the film. it explains it in plain English. people see what they wanna see.

  • @mrwhatever213 yeah thats just retarded

  • @dageezerboi

    No, you're just genuinely stupid.

  • Naww, amazing scene. Amazing movie!

  • this is the best acting i have seen

  • he looks like his sister
