@88Domii Some people like that sound, man. I don't now but I liked it then. I used an Evans Onyx head at the time and it's probably my least favorite snare head I've ever owned.
@ptc5010 the snare is cool but it's just the sound I do gospel hip hop r&b jazz and blues so for me that is a horrible sound. The head is good but it's all about how you tune it.
@88Domii I personally don't like the sound of the Onyx head. I've heard it on other people's drum kits too and didn't like it either. To each his own though.
@88Domii It's cool if it provides what you are looking for. Onyx heads are designed to produce a very thick and dry sound. This is not what most people search for in a snare drum, but if you like that sound, it will work.
what is bad with this? this sounds pretty good to mee

This drum is not tuned properly.

@tferrarimusic Perhaps a little but not overwhelmingly so. Also, this is recorded with a camera mic so it's picking up a little weird.

@ptc5010 no its just not tuned right. im sure you figured this out by now but no its not.

@88Domii Evans Onyx heads aren't supposed to be used as snare heads :/

@XxStrongDrums1996xX I've used it for a snare head once it was pretty cool after I worked with it

@XxStrongDrums1996xX Sometimes in gospel that dry sound works
88Domii 2 months ago
@88Domii The dry sounds works, but you need a loud crack, not a deep punch.
XxStrongDrums1996xX 2 months ago
@XxStrongDrums1996xX i do have a snare with that great crack sound that's my main one
88Domii 2 months ago
@XxStrongDrums1996xX I have one on my 7x13 porkpie, it sounds amazing but i have my drum tuned much tighter than his.
ebdrummer07 1 month ago
@XxStrongDrums1996xX Yeah, I learned that lesson. They don't provide a very snare-like crack at all. Too open, like a tom.
ptc5010 2 months ago
@XxStrongDrums1996xX they work as them though :)
