The reason the Red Cross has this information is because Captains of the death camps gave tours and in these tours very little inhumane things were shown and fake cabines were shown instead of the barracks to the Red Cross. This is why having an understanding of the past is so important. As it stands investigation of the Holocaust is forbidden. You cannot perform scientific examinations anymore (past results have shown the extermination story to be bogus), it is illegal in many countries to believe anything other than "6 million Jews died in the Holocaust", do otherwise and you are threatened, beaten, fined, locked up. Six million did not perish and certainly not in gas chambers, there simply isn't the evidence for this to have happened. Archaeology and history can document events that happened 1000's of years ago but in this case, with an event 65 odd years ago where millions of people allegedly perished and not a scrap of evidence exists - no weapon, no body, nothing. Implying a parallel between the casualties of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and the extermination carried out by the Nazis in WWII defiles the memory of their victims and incites hatred. However, this tactic of using insidious, hate mongering and antisemitic lies to fan the flames of an already explosive situation draws a concrete parallel for this was indeed exactly how the Nazi did business.
