That is one beautiful dog... i'm not so fond in akitas with black faces as they look scary :) but he is so cute! lovely akita. I have a japanese akita... they are just the best dogs :)

there is such thing american akita.

it is a breed. breeders tokk akita inu and mixed it with german shepherd , mastiffs , san bernard and made a breed, that's american akita.

@vicouswolf Don't know which books you have been reading, but there is 2 different types of Akitas. The Japanese bred Akitas, and the American bred Akitas. The american bred Akitas are much larger and stronger than the jap breeds. They're visibly easy to know which is which just by glancing at them if you know the differences.

If you have serieus health problems with youre dog..they lose interest in the dog right away
