  • oh my... duran vs leonard THOSE WERE FIGHTS... I hate it! why young ones can have wars like these?

  • The legendary Hands of Stone... no one could ever replace duran in the history of boxing not even the pacman... I admire how pacman fights but duran is the superior fighter of them

  • to be honest Robero is far more superior than Pacman, eventhough i'm a filipino but still Duran would destroy Pacman at their prime, people just don't realize how Duran would have been the greatest fighter of all time if he is always dedicated to his training... Duran did not have a catchweight fights, He fight Hagler, Leonard, Hearns... and all the big names inn boxing... he's my greatest fighter of all time... no one else comes close if he ever trained so seriously...

  • Don king is

    a dick.

  • When you see a fighter, alltime world class, not having his timing down on the speed bag, you know he isn't into it. When the reporter is saying that Duran looks shot in training, he wasn't into it. Duran's management screwed Duran, Don King is an asshole. He would screw his dog for a biscuit. Leonard wants to take credit for Duran not being at his best. It was the only chance Leonard had to win. He had to have Roberto come in out of shape. That is Leonard, he was a cherry picker.

  • What's the name of the guitar song at the beginning?

  • @andi4991 Hi, the guitar song is ASTURIAS....it is on Yotube....the best player of this song is JOHN WILLIAMS. I listen to it every night. It is beautiful. Write me when you have listened to it.

  • i see mayweather staying home while pacquiao waits cause mayweather is a bitch never fought a real fighter beside hatton

  • This is exactly how I see the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. I could easily see Mayweather dominating Pacquiao with his superior boxing, and hit and run tactics while Pacquiao gets frustrated.

  • @Solowizard - the fight would be more like the 1st fight

  • @Solowizard THAT'S A WISH ON YOUR PART..BECAUSE A SOUTHPAW IS FLOYD'S WEAKNESS..

AND MANNY IS JUST NOT ANOTHER SOUTHPAW BUT THE BEST SOUTHPAW..

AND WHEN YOU THINK MANNY HAS NO BOXING OR COUNTER-PUNCHING SKILLS..WATCH HIS HATTON AND COTTO FIGHTS..YOU'LL THINK AGAIN

  • @akosihelbert - Nope. You are wrong. Unlike YOU and a lot of other people, I'm a big non-biased fan of both Mayweather and Pacquiao. I'm just stating what I believe will happen. WHAT I WISH WILL HAPPEN IS THAT THE FIGHT TURNS INTO A GUN SLINGING WAR AND ENDS WITH A DRAW.

  • @Solowizard you realize you're hypocritical right?

saying pac will be dominated with may's boxing..and gets frustrated...get a stand man.

i say pac's the best souhtpaw..not an opinion but a fact..and may's the best defensive fighter. but you cannot say pac can be easily defeat.

examine your words first before you say you're unbiased cause i see it otherwise.

  • @akosihelbert - pac can be easily defeated.

  • @Solowizard if you tie both of his hands...but if not. all i can say is sorry to your career.

  • @akosihelbert - yeah

  • @Solowizard duran's only chance is if he ties pac's both hands

  • @akosihelbert - uhh, huh

  • @akosihelbert Listen to an expert. Pac's coach Freddie Roach. He said Duran would beat Pac....Case closed.

  • @honestman43 experts are not perfect. maybe roach was drunk when he said that.

  • @akosihelbert Have you even seen many of Duran's lightweight fights? I like Pac, but he is not in the same class as Duran.. Freddie Roach said it more than once lol. Is he always drunk?

  • @honestman43 HE'S NOT ALWAYS DRUNK. BUT HE WAS DRUNK BY THE TIME HE SAID DURAN WOULD BEAT PAC. THAT'S RIDICULOUS. FREDDIE HAS NEVER TRAINED DURAN, SO IT WAS ALL PUNCH-DRUNK STATEMENTS.

I'VE SEEN MOST OF HIS LIGHTWEIGHT THAT WELTER OR MID FIGHTS.

BUT CONSIDERING THAT (ACCORDING TO DURAN FANS HE IS THE BEST LIGHTWEIGHT) HE WOULD HAVE A SLIM CHANCE OF BEATING PAC. FINE, DURAN FANS.

BUT AT 140-145..I JUST THINK DURAN WILL SAY NO MAS OR HE WILL KISS THE CANVASS..NO OFFENSE

  • @akosihelbert No offense taken. Thanks for the good discussion. Pac simply cannot take a punch as well as Duran. Pac does not have the punching power to stop someone like Duran either. I am obviously a Duran fan, but I am also a Pac fan. I hope he keeps doing great. Duran is considered one (if not the best) lightweights of all -time. By fans and experts. Pac should get into the all-time list. He still has to fight more people though.

  • @honestman43 thanks too bro. i would say again that duran may be better lightweight than pac..but at heavier class..i don't see how a young duran can match a young pacquiao. although duran was great - still fighting at age 50.

so i guess duran is duran..and pac is pac.

but with no bias i just think that (style-wise) pac is superior..speed..footwork and power carried through welterweight...again no offense.

  • @akosihelbert I just wish Pac would get more fights....especially one against Mayweather

  • @honestman43 SAME HERE.

  • its a shame....just like Ricky Hatton....smh

  • If Don King would have had a single brain cell in his fat, grey head then he'd know that Duran never quit and he wasn't a loser.

  • don king's laugh is demonic

  • A long time Duran fan, thanx for posting.

  • the only way to beat roberto duran in his prime, was for him not to train and disiplin him self. A well trained Duran and a well disiplined Duran is an unbeatable Duran.

  • @juanferez1 and to get him to rapidly lose wieght by de-hydrating his self and by taking medication.

  • @juanferez1 Unless you are hitman Hearns, then you can be a mismatch to him and just beat the shyt outta him! That was his human mismatch IMO, no way he could beat that dude head up sparring with his length and speed, period.

  • Mayweather knock out Pacman ,In Your dreamz , hohoh Pacquiao is a small Roberto Duran in my books Mayweather aint shit againts Pacman ,

  • there he goes again threatening the kid .what a bully!!!!! i'de deck him on his front lawn if he said dat 2 me

  • hes so under rated

  • against pacman, not duran

  • Duran's daughter is FINE! But you better be on your best behavior when dating her, I bet.

  • she foght pro from 2000 - 2002

    1 win 2 loses

  • haha her first boyfriend must of shat his pants when he first met him and got her flowers every day since then.

  • @denzelsnipes69

    Oh Yeah!!!!!!

  • @denzelsnipes69 DAMN..I'M GONNA PISS ON MY PANTS IF I EVER FORMALLY COURT DURAN'S DAUGHTER..WHILE HE'S TELLING ME "I'M GONNA BURN YOU HOUSE"

MUST'VE BEEN VERY TRAUMATIC..BUT SO WORTH THE TRY..SHE'S A FINE WOMAN.

  • @denzelsnipes69 Fuck that, I wouldn't go near her, he'd kill me, my father, my mother and family and burn my house down!

  • @propagud

yep, and then he'd knock out your horse just to top it off

  • duran es mi suegro...yo le pongo mi pinga de piedra a esa mamasita de su hija....

  • mayweather pacquiao.. duran leonard of our era

  • Comment removed

  • Oh absoutely, I was just thinking the same thing.

I personally can see similarities between Duran and Pacquioa.

I am very much looking forward to their fight in 2010. Hopefully like Duran & Leonard they will make a series of it. Its a box-office draw that Boxing needs right now. And trample UFC in the ratings.

Who do you favour between Mayweather and Pacquioa btw.

  • i reckon mayweathers will win, maybe a ko

  • duran looks like juan manuel marquez

  • duran ever lokks like che guevara

  • Duran!! Duràn !!! Duràn!! The best in the whole world!! proudly made in Panama

  • mayweather would clown duran

  • im black and im not gunna lie duran would knock dat nigga out unless mayweather did his slick defense on him

  • lol@durans wife, that chick stayed spending Durans chips. Read George Kimbals book 4 Kings he sheds a unbiast light on the greats, leonard, duran, herns and Hagler

  • i think you have him mistaken with floyd mayweather jr

  • go breast feed kid

  • I think the pressure of the big money, high stake bets and expectation of a big fight and also BIG time litigation makes fighters go through fights even though they spent from being weight drained. Perhaps even threats if the fighters decide to drop out or postpone the fight.

  • Sugar "Gay" Leonard running, clowning, holding. Why didn't he give Duran a rematch? Because an immidiate fight number 3 would have been different. Duran would have whipped his ass. Leonard gave him a rematch 9 years later. What a fag!!!

  • you sound stupid thats not evn funny D**KHEAD!! Dont call Sugar ray LEORNARD GAY PRICK!! I LIKE ROBERT & RAY BOTH LEGEND SO FUCK RAY DIDENT GIVE HIM A REMATCH!! BITCH!!

  • LOL, leonard could not box him, the only reason he was able to do that was because Duran was drained and could not jump on Leonard like he did in the first fight.

  • like oscar and pac-man fight. when fighters drop so much weight it puts a toll on them but "it was planned from day 1"-bs

  • you've gotta listen more carefully to what he said. sugar ray was saying that he knew duran wasn't going to maintain a disciplined training regiment. he claims he knew that duran would party, drink, and get fat, ultimately leaving him in a poor condition for the fight. his strategy was to attack that weakness by wearing him out early.

  • yeah, i know it was the right thing to do, but it seems a little cheap to me.

  • 230lbs?!?! theres got to be some sort of a mistake, that would be a gain of almost 80lbs!!! Even ricky hatton after 4 months of binge drinking doesnt come close

  • i think if duran was in shape for the second fight leonard would not of had a chance to use his speed

  • If Leonard had beaten Duran the 2nd time without the dirty tricks, such as the pre-fight stuff, and the show boating then I would give me him much more credit. PLUS, DUran never said NO MAS, he SAID I WILL NOT FIGHT THIS CLOWN ANYMORE!!!!

  • how did duran destroy leonard in the first fight it was a great even fight no knockdowns no cuts but a great fight, leonard haters saying he got destroyed dont let your disdain for leonard get in the way of facts.

  • I'm a very proud Duran Fan. Hell my name is Roberto. But this is very true. I've watched that fight so many times. And it was truely a battle. That's what made it such a good fight. I have to say on majority not all but the majority of rounds Duran had the edge over Sugar ray. He controlled the fight but not easily. Sugar Ray should have beat him in his best for no one other then Sugar Ray himself. To know he beat him fairly. Just my opinion

  • duran quit because he said he didnt want to get knocked out by leonard he said it to al bernstein in an interview a couple of years after no mas.

  • @kwm892345 He was scared to lose then or get knocked out? I agree with that there, he did not want to lose big so he quit! He just quit.

  • @onblock7 It is crazy how people are in denial, even you heard it from SRL that he demanded a quick re-match when Duran was 190 (this fight was signed in late Sept. they gave Duran 2 months to get ready)and they still claiming that SRL beat Duran, he cheated, the ring was 22x22 for SRL to be able to run like a chicken, It is funny to read, that DUran quit because he did not want to get knock out.. SR was running!, how the fuck he will knock out Duran, Duran was a hard MOFO, LEAR BOXING

  • @mittaku Duran said he had cramps and would not be beat by this clown lol, bottom line is he was out of shape and knew he had no win there so he quit! He was a hard MOFO yes, but seriously it's his own fault he drank that much and he accepted the fight that soon so thats his fault! Sugar Ray faught his fight the first time around and tried to spar head up and still did not get knocked out, this time he knew to dance and tag, and that frustrated the out of shape Duran so he quit and said No mas

  • @mittaku People are so stupid when it comes to their favorite fighter. I loved Duran but in no way shape or form did Leonard cheat Duran. Who agreed to the 2 months Duran did, who agreed with the 22x22 ring Duran did. So if Duran agreed to all of these things in no shape or form did Leonard cheat him. You can make all the excuses in the world you want but the man quit it's no denying that.

  • Don King has a sinister laugh.

  • I bet Duran's daughter's boyfriends crapped their pants.

  • leonard was a major pussy when he fought duran like a man he got his ass kicked. only when he intentionally tricked him into fighting out of shape and then runs in circles around the ring can claim a victory. he was gettin the his ass whiped by hearns untill hearns gassed and then after avoidin a rematch for yrs was giving a gift decision in a fight he lost. he ducked hagler for yrs until hagler was past his prime and again was givin a gift decision. and totaly avoided aaron pryor his hole carer

  • It's really stupid and dumb to argue things with "If only" headings cause in reality they never happened and we would really never know... So just live with it... :P

  • when did i use the term if only ? wat are you talking about ? are you sure you replied to the right comment cause everything i said acyually happened and is true

  • So you are not saying that IF ONLY Sugar Ray fought these guys in their prime he wouldn't have beaten them?

  • Did he really knock out a horse?

  • yeah. so did ruben hurricane carter but he was a full blown middleweight. duran was only a 19yr old lightweight. thats some crazy power right there

  • Duran was signed up 3 months after the 1st fight and had 2 months to prepare. That was really idiotic and stupid. Basically Leonard bribed Duran with millions to fight him unprepared.

Another stupid mistake was placing Duran on a isolated prison island to prepare for the Benitez fight. It psychologically screwed him totally

  • leonard won the fight but he did not defeat duran.

duran will always be remembered as the superior fighter.

  • @esco42085 He lost man, seriously Ray outsmarted that dude and beat him at his own fight, the first one was Durans style! He outsmarted him in that one plain and simple............

  • @esco42085 not. did you forget that they fought three times? duran quit in the second fight. then he lost every round of the third fight. i've heard all the excuses before so you don't need to repeat them. leoanrd was the superior athlete, superior boxer, won his biggest fights. duran lost all his biggest fights except one and that one was damn close.

  • @Haplotype0 leanard was probably the superior athlete. But duran was a better fighter, he had more power.

  • @Haplotype0 leanard was probably the superior athlete. But duran was a better fighter, he had more power. And as u can see, in the 2nd fight, duran had a lot of distractions which resulted in him gaining as much weight as he did, and losing focus.

  • The distractions were his fault. It is his responsibility to come to the ring in shape, to say he wasn't is no excuse. He lost two fights to leonard, never knocked him down.Duran's power was good, Leonard was better.Leonard knocked out Hearns who Duran got knocked out by.The fighter who takes the fight is responsible for himself, excuses aside, if you don't want the fight don't take it.A friend who fought all of them told me Leonard's power > hearns and duran. duran was great leonard was better

  • @Haplotype0 yes i agree that the distractions were his fault, but its a reality.he lost 2 fights to leonard but the 3rd was isnt really talked about coz they were both not in their prime anymore. duran went up weight divisions and won those fights as well. In part 4 i think u see him fight that big black fighter who was a young reigning champion, duran was clearly not in his prime anymore,he showed how good his chin is wen he took that punch, and came back and ko'd the guy

  • @Haplotype0

The age old saying goes: "styles make fights..." so Leonard KOing Hearns who KO'd Duran means very very little. With regards to power, Duran won 70 fights out of 119 via KO whereas Leonard won 25 out of 40 via KO. Both had power but Duran was steel strong. They never called him "hands of stone" for nothing.

  • @esco42085 ofcourse h was beat...look at the fight, he couldn't keep up or touch sugar

  • who won when they were both in their primes and fit ? Duran destroyed Leonard. The second time Leonard outsmarted him, not dominated. You dominate when you KO someone.

Even with Duran out of shape Leonard couldn't hurt him, he could only play with him.

  • I dont know which fight you saw, but the Brawl in Montreal was a great fight, they both fought each other like warriors. Of course Duran won, but it was hardly a landslide, it was a great fuckin' fight. Duran didnt ko Leonard, does that mean he did not dominate? Duran was a great fighter who could box, and Leonard was a great boxer who could fight.

  • My point is: when they were both on top

(montreal fight) Duran showed he was better.

In the second fight Leonard was smarter and in better shape but he could't really hurt Duran, he was clowing and forced Duran to stop because he was tired of that. Duran was a pure talent fighter with an historic career even with poor discipline, Leonard was a good boxer

with great discipline and media support ( like Mayweather today). But Again, Duran career can't be compared with planned Leonard's one.

  • That I do agree with, 100%. I dont put Leonard any less or more than Duran, Hearns or Hagler, any one of them in their prime. I do believe through brains or guts, a brawl or boxing match, any one them could beat the other, only through different tactics. The 2nd Leonard/Duran fight, I believe even if Roberto would have been in proper shape, Leonard would have beat him, because he was boxing him in that fight and not going toe to toe. I have to admit, the taunting shit really did bug me.

  • Nice we agree. But I think in the second fight with a Duran on top and fast as in the first there was still no change for Leonard. Duran like Hagler in top form were almost perfect boxer like Ali or Robinson. Leonard or other good guys had mainly one good thing ( speed for Leonard or power for Hearns ). Again, in boxing good management and media support can totally change a career.

  • How does a lot of showboating and a few flashy flurries equate to "dominated"? When the fight ended Leonard was ahead two points on two cards and one on the other. Hardly pitching a shut-out. Not once did Leonard hurt, cut, stagger or knock down Duran. Only one man won when they were both in peak condition, and it wasn't Sugar Ray Leonard. Foreman vs Frazier...now that's one great fighter dominating another.
