By the way it is possible to connect an 1/4" connection in an unbalanced way by just using mono cables (guitar jack cables). However this is quite a waste of your expensive equipment if you ask me, not investing in a relatively cheap xlr or 1/4" stereo cable.
XLR and 1/4" are exactly same. Just different connector. On XLR you've got three pins in an triangle, on 1/4" connector you got three connections behind each other. Note that this is NOT a regular stereo jack plug signal, it's three pins per channel. In an balanced connection there's one ground, one + sinus and one - sinus, the minus is just the inversion of the plus signal, when there's +5v at one, there's -5volt on the other. Cancels out any interference caused by power cords, earth loops, etc
ok i have a roland kc 150 and the subwoofer output is a 1/4 inch. i was wondering what the hell im supposed to do? haha i have a 120w bass cube that has speaker cable inputs. are 1/4 inch to speaker cable cords common?
Question, I have the ep 2500 amp hooked up to a pair of JBL jrx 125s. Do you think there will be a crossover issue if I add a b1800x subwoofer, bridge all the power from the amp into that and then daisy chain it? Or do you think its better to just ditch them and get a pair of active speakers?
Hmm...i dont have much experience with bridging, and i have a strong feeling if i were to say something i thought was correct about it, i would probably get a couple negative comments. But in my preference, i would go with active, they are easy and do most of the work for you. I am not sure entirely how it would work. You might not get as much power to your sub as you want cause the satellite speakers are too loud. But i would suggest to play around with it
thanks dude that help a lot and i know i keep asking u a lot of question but im just trying to have the right tools.but if i get a bigger amp will it burn my 2 B-52 MX-1515 Dual 15 2-Way 600W Speaker or not and can u please recomment me somes mixer in a good bugget
ok i got it now that u know all the equiment i got u think im good to go? but i still dont knoe why my amp clipped and thank u a lot man ima subscribe u
You sound like you are good to go, it could be that you need more power with the amp. When i was DJ'ing a wedding, my amp was clipping because i was playing it as loud as it will go, when i got a more powerful amp, the clipping stopped. Another possible reason would be that you could possibly be pumping too much power into the amp from the computer. Try turning the volume on your computer down from 100% to around 75% or 80%. I get clipping in my car when using an ipod if the ipod is at full blas
I generally Never exceed 75% of my total gain on my mixer, or just barely touching the first red light on my mixer and 75% volume on my crossover (active) and that acts as a limiter in a sense. My amp is running wide-open (100%). I use a Pyramid PA-800X amp, cheap/low-end, but I've made a few mods over the years to make it rock-solid.
a good rule of thumb when seeking the best quality sound of your system is to match the peak power of your speakers to the amp power. always match the ohms as well . example if you have a set of speakers that can handle 500 watts rms / 1000 watts peak at 8 ohms you want to find an amp that puts out 2000 watts per channel at 8 ohms.
i dont have a lot of things i just have a small mixer,EQ,behringer ep 2500 and my laptop so is there is anythin that i need to buy so i can have some more bass in my b52 speaker
A maximizer (if you mean sonic maximizer) then you do not need one, but you can hear a difference in the sound. It really enriches it, and i defiantly recommend getting one, but it is not a necessary piece of equipment.
i do got one of them my speaker are 4omps 600 watts i got 2 b52 and the red circle turn on but the amp never turn off i might be playing the music loud but i dont think so because when i turn the bass down from my EQ it goes away i wonder wat is because im not getting enought bass i heared more high n middle than bass and i do have the gain control i think 36 somethin like just a bit lower than all way up and dont really understand how can i connect a subwoofer when i got 2 speaker
If you have seperate amps for highs and lows and you are not using a crossover, you could be sending too much power to the lower amp. Thus meaning, you are running the bass speakers at their peak, but your satellite speakers are getting just enough. If you run a crossover, you can control how much power you want your subs to get, and that could help.
Yes. If you mean, from the computer, to the amp, to the sub and speakers. The mixer is really there to make it easier to switch from one song to another.
i will see what i can do...i don't have a camera any more...i ordered a new one.. but it is on backorder for like 6 to 8 weeks.. but i will see what i can do

xlr is NOT better then 1/4". because that balanced TO.
hardekernlent 1 year ago
@hardekernlent - Ok. i figured XLR is better
because it has the ground and what not.
It really depends on your outlook and acutally
listening to one and one side by side. You
probably cant Hear a difference. If you are
going to post a comment, please put some
useful information in it.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out but that's not quite right about the balanced XLR (which pin does what)... Also... The jacks are balanced too.

@JVM113 Bridging yes, what you can do is crossover one side for the sub, the other for the tops.
