You are lucky that you have access to all this. I am on ODSP and I cannot even get a new doctor in the city of Hamilton. My old doctors passed away. At this moment I am basically a shut in as I can barely walk. If my younger son did not help me out as he does I could not survive.
@canadianhoneyinmytea Cobourg is where I want to live. They're more accessible, more respectful of the disabled, and inclusive.
This video highlights the positive. They have 2 access taxis, fully accessible transit, and Wheels.
Kingston has partially accessible conventional bus, no accessible taxis, & Access Bus. Regular transit is subsidized at $565 per year, specialized is not. The official expenditure for the bus in 2011 was $2,059.75. (That's 30% of my ODSP income).
