i don't have a problem with disney movies or walt disney (a genius), i have a problem with the disney channel and some of the activities the corporation has been engaging in, such as promoting talentless tweeny "bands" and "singers" on the basis of looks and popularity. that being said, quite a few of the movies are still good. wall-e, for example, was excellent. however, it is still highly possible to have problems with disney for other reasons.

Yes. It's Disney's in-house studio. I really want them to make a sequel. I think this concept could really grow due to the fact that Bolt has fans now like the other popular CGI films. If Ice Age (20th Century Fox) has fans coming back and then some for the sequel, why won't this.

You can't make a sequal just to see your favorite characters again! You have to have a story and plot, and there just isn't enough to make a another movie! It would be fun to see a Bolt 2, but what will it be about?

When you bring money into the equation anything's possible. Disney has not had a true blockbuster CGI non-Pixar film. They could throw out the rule book and do something different or just make the same type of movie again. They would at least have to bring in one or two new characters or give the pigions a bigger role. I'm not a script writer so I don't know where to begin.

Walt Disney is a large corporation and they're in it for profit margin! If they want a sequel, Disney get's a sequel. If they made a sequal, it would come out in 5 years, because the writers would be skimming this movie for anything that resembles a plot point for a sequal. I just got back from seeing a 3-D showing of it. The movie was cool but the 3-D didn't stand out like it did in other movies. The only thing that seemed to "jump off the screen" were zoom in shots of plants or forrests. You didn't miss much by not seeing it in 3-D. Now if Wall-E was in 3-D than......

I'll be honest... this film just felt like another slapped together Disney 'product' to me. If you look at Disney animation back in their golden periods (when Walt was alive and during the late 80s/mid 90s), and compare them to Bolt... there's no comparison. The pacing is all off, the emotinal content feels extremely forced, and the gags are about as good as amusing as those found in a Saturday morning cartoon. Great review though! You're easily one of the best film critics on YouTube.

Just saw the film on Friday. I really enjoyed it - a little bit more than Wall-E, actually. I especially loved Susie Essman as the voice of Mittens the cat.

Glad to see that Disney was able to pull off a 3D-animated film without the aid of Pixar. ;)

You class animation as art? Thats interesting. I class movies in general as art. Well, when there good. Its difficult to look at it that way sometimes, but when you seem films as beautifully shot as "Amelie", then you begin to understand. Thats one great thing about movies that I don't think people really realize. Its not just how great of a story it is, its how brilliant it is shot too.

Thank you for replying to my comment, and yeah, lighting and effects are as important (not just CGI). Your right about some people only watching movies because of action, and other things. But I think films like Amelie will never be made in Hollywood for a different reasons. One major reason is Amelie is a French film, and its the style that French films are like. Each country has a different style.

I don't care, I'm gonna say it. I hate Disney now days. They were freaking amazing back in the day, but I just don't want to have to deal with all their other garbage they make.

But putting that aside, I guess they could still make great things if they wanted to. Would you compare this to something they made, say, more than ten years ago? But I guess that's not fair. I've gotta agree with FuryoftheFilmFan here. I am a huge fan of action blockbusters with compelling drama and a huge disser of poorly made 'disaster movies,' but Bolt really has a good plot going on.

About the 'magic,' though, it might be just me, but I really felt it when I re-examined the plot of the movie. I felt it was a great love story (between a master and her pet - nothing indecent, mind you ;) ) where two desperate beings are trying to get back to each other. It touches me that way. :)
