Well, Taiwanese pilots evidently don't do turnarounds...I was in Hong Kong when this happened and never flew China Airlines ever since.

Having said that pizzo001 I think you probably exaggerated the flight a bit - I would've guessed CA605 had an approach lower/slower than that - the CA pilot was dumb but probably not dumb enuf to force a landing at that kind of threshold altitude. He also messed with his brakes after touchdown didn't he :)

It look like it was exploded off, or burned off, or something, not the result ot the skid into the water.

Oh, the tail was removed by dynamite to keep the airport functional, bcoz it was interferring with rwy31 ILS signal..
