This was a great series from a great time in television. TV was still connected to the live stage in its techniques. Done well, as here, it could very artfully, with no special effects, generate powerful images. The dialogue, although very stylized and "hardboiled" was quite adult, especially in the love scene with Craig Stevens and Lola Albright.
We know more today but we don't have the character of people in that era. We've lost something or had it taken away.
WesChannel I can not thank you enough. I've somehow managed to never see an actual episode of Peter Gunn and this was awesome. My dad liked Peter Gunn too so this is a nice reminder of him as well. Thanks so much.
Notice how, at the end, when the 1957 and '58 Fords all rush together, at 6:48 the car on the left doesn't have its brakes on and it starts to roll forward till the driver jumps back to try to stop it. You don't see if he was successful because the scene cuts right then.
Yeah, it seems that Desilu was the first season and then things went South with that when Lucy and Desi were getting divorced; after that it was Universal for the 2nd season and MGM for the 3rd.
The cool thing I dig is that there's no background noise. This gives more power to what's going on.

Judging by the end credits, this episode was filmed at Desilu.

I think it was only the pilot was filmed at Desilu, then all other season 1 episodes were filmed at Universal, and MGM for seasons 2-3.

Thanks for posting. Some more P Gunn would be great, and it would certainly be appreciated. In any case Wes, thank you for what's already here.
