If you are put on street as auxillary or regular police officer you have to pass the same background check and you should have a firearm if you going to walk the street in a uniform period,someone has to answer to these murders and its not just the killers.

They said this happend on Sullivan st but I don't think that is right..Sullivan st goes North. They said this psycho shot a pizza worker on Houston then ran up North to Bleecker where Eugene Marshalik told him to drop, then the psycho punched Marshalik and took off South with Marshalik following. Well in this video if this is Sullivan st, the cars are pointing in the wrong direction. To me this is MacDougal st which makes more sense because they finally shot the nut when he ran back to Bleecker.

What's also sad is that there was a little kid and his/her dad were the first officer was killed. They finaly left the scene at at 2:40. They right next to the fallen officer when it happened, luickilly they were spared through the commotion.
Auxilaries should have guns. They would need to take courses and qualify. Why are we disarming the agents of police when the criminals still have guns? unreal. So someone with a clean criminal record, works for the police.. doesnt get a gun.. but some douchbag off the street. criminal.. gets to carry whatever he wants? where's the logic

Police have no more rights than crazy people. That is one of the costs of freedom. Police are trained with military tactics anyway. The less guns in the hands of police, means less people being killed by police. Uniformed police are obviously more likely to be shot at. Especially by a person in the middle of a crime spree. The police involved are not heroes, they are paid to risk their life. Some of them died in the process. Oh, well. Charge it to the game.

@mmmikeey That's a good question. I do know, however, that NYPD Officers that patrol as auxiliary cops are allowed to carry their service pistols all the time...
Wrong,Since APO aren't full time peace officer in the state of NY APO aren't allow to carry any firearm while on duty although their training is the same as peace officers.
The real issue here is liability,the NYC doesn't want lawsuit spawning all over,although full time P/O gets the city in many lawsuits.
APO's assigned to RED ZONE areas shall be trained in firearms,just as security guards that works for armored trucks,bank or does bodyguard jobs

i believe Garvin knew these guy where auxiliaries. this is why i say so. prior to getting into the chase. the two auxiliaries had Garvin detained and where asking him questions. when one auxiliary was going to search his bad, Garvin punched one of them in the face and ran. what you see in the video is the chase but not what happen before. i think he knew they where auxiliaries for the simple fact Garvin tunred around and started firing at them once he loaded his gun.
These guys are true heroes. Unarmed and without armour , they responded to a call and tried to take down a suspect that was endangering others. They deserved better
As a side note, I'm from Toronto. Our Auxilary Police are armed only with batons and handcuffs, and can make arrests for crimes that they observe or hear over the radio. They also have uniforms that are slightly different (light blue shirt instead of dark blue like regular constables, and a checkerboard pattern on their cap bands)
this is fantatsic I am also an auxiliary police officer and i am happy to say that This shooting alone inspired me to do Auxiliary when these two brave young men were killed I wasnt quite an auxiliary officer yet but i heard the call over the radio while on 7th ave & 24th st These guys lost their lives But they did well at heart and I'm sure their looking upon every auxiliary police officer out there being our FTO's by spirit GOD BLESS

I am a Auxiliary Officer and our uniform is the exact same as the regular officers besides a rocker above patch that says "Auxiliary" But when people see a badge they don't care if you are a Police Officer or Auxiliary Police Officer, they will shoot you anyways just becuase you have a badge and look like a Police Officer. Most people don't know the difference between Police Officers and Auxiliary Police Officers.

Speaking as a former auxiliary officer (Illinois), I wish to offer my condolensces to the New York Auxiliary Police and the families of Auxiliary Officers Pekearo and Marshalik. I once encountered an escaping armed gunman while I was unarmed so I understand what they experienced. I also have been shot at.
I had visited with the New York Auxiliary Police back in the early 1990's and have nothing but high admiration for the work they do.
This is why it's so important to have the death penalty in this country. Sometimes a life sentence is just not an adequate punishment. These are the outrageous and senseless crimes for which the death penalty should be reserved!
This is the kind of shit that should not be happening. Anyone who is protecting and serving should have a service revolver/Gun. The officer would be alive today. Auxilaries should have guns. They would need to take courses and qualify. Why are we disarming the agents of police when the criminals still have guns? unreal. Police have no more rights than crazy people. That is one of the costs of freedom. Police are trained with military tactics anyway. The less guns in the hands of police, means less people being killed by police. Uniformed police are obviously more likely to be shot at. Especially by a person in the middle of a crime spree. The police involved are not heroes, they are paid to risk their life. Some of them died in the process. Oh, well. Charge it to the game.

Wrong,Since APO aren't full time peace officer in the state of NY APO aren't allow to carry any firearm while on duty although their training is the same as peace officers.
The real issue here is liability,the NYC doesn't want lawsuit spawning all over,although full time P/O gets the city in many lawsuits.
APO's assigned to RED ZONE areas shall be trained in firearms,just as security guards that works for armored trucks,bank or does bodyguard jobs

i believe Garvin knew these guy where auxiliaries. this is why i say so. prior to getting into the chase. the two auxiliaries had Garvin detained and where asking him questions. when one auxiliary was going to search his bad, Garvin punched one of them in the face and ran. what you see in the video is the chase but not what happen before. i think he knew they where auxiliaries for the simple fact Garvin tunred around and started firing at them once he loaded his gun.

These guys are true heroes. Unarmed and without armour , they responded to a call and tried to take down a suspect that was endangering others. They deserved better
As a side note, I'm from Toronto. Our Auxilary Police are armed only with batons and handcuffs, and can make arrests for crimes that they observe or hear over the radio. They also have uniforms that are slightly different (light blue shirt instead of dark blue like regular constables, and a checkerboard pattern on their cap bands)

I am a Auxiliary Officer and our uniform is the exact same as the regular officers besides a rocker above patch that says "Auxiliary" But when people see a badge they don't care if you are a Police Officer or Auxiliary Police Officer, they will shoot you anyways just becuase you have a badge and look like a Police Officer. Most people don't know the difference between Police Officers and Auxiliary Police Officers.

Speaking as a former auxiliary officer (Illinois), I wish to offer my condolensces to the New York Auxiliary Police and the families of Auxiliary Officers Pekearo and Marshalik. I once encountered an escaping armed gunman while I was unarmed so I understand what they experienced. I also have been shot at.
I had visited with the New York Auxiliary Police back in the early 1990's and have nothing but high admiration for the work they do.

Well moron you do have one good point Bush has fucked this Country. Tougher gun laws? Do you actually think that he bought that gun legally? Most of the criminals either stole them or bought them underground. Tougher Laws hell why don't every normal law abiding citizen just had their weapons over to the police sounds like a plan. Just with one drawback crooks will have guns either way & we have the right to guns so a rouge gov doesn't enslave & or kill us. Read why we have rights to bear arms.
