I'm sorry, but the little backwards summer-salt Tybalt does at 2:44 when he's dying just makes me laugh. I'm assuming it's supposed to be his death-throes, but it just strikes me funny.
The tragic moments in Shakespeare are rarely seen: Here is almost one: Since Tybalt is ignorant of the love between his archenemy Romeo and his cousin Juliet, which could reconcile the two feuding noble Houses of Verona, he seeks to quarrel with Romeo, but Mercutio defends him and in an attempt to part them he is slain by Tybalt and so the furious Romeo slays Tybalt and the mischief unfolds, had now Juliet murdered Romeo and then killed herself it would have been perfect tragedy.
During this period, Alan would have made a perfect and very attractive Snape. He would have had the correct age for him and body type. That would have been something.
@amaratenoh1 I'm sorry but Shakespeare wrote this many many many MANY years before Alan was even born so I highly doubt it had anything to do with Alan playing him .... -.-
To me, Tybalt has the most tragic death. If only stupid Juliet had listened to him... then he wouldn't have died! It's Romeo's fault that Mercutio died! He was a coward and got in the way! Tybalt is the only person with any sense in the whole play... Romeo and Juliet can die a million times, for all I care.
At 4:04, I wanted to stop watching, but alas, I must continue. I almost screamed "NOOOO ALAN!!" Why is it nearly every movie! It doesn't get any easier to watch him die over and over again no matter what character he is. Thank you so much for uploading!
Thanks for putting this up! I agree with you, Lothriel. This production is not really worth watching after Mercutio and Tybalt are killed. Anthony Andrews and Alan Rickman are freakin fantastic. I found it on DVD and didn't realize that Alan Rickman was it in for a while (I hadn't watched it, lol) Juliet pisses me off in this one too.
Again, Anthony Andrews and Alan Rickman are fantastic in this production (though the Romeo could not possibly get any blander). Thank you for posting this. I forgot what a pwnage Alan got in this version! *sob*. :P

Wow. Romeo is the meanest, dirtiest fighter ever. If he was fair, Alan Rickman would have been freaking immortal.

Is it just me or did this whole duel and death scene seem much like a ballet? Also, I believe I just saw Romeo kick Tybalt in the balls at one point.

Alan Rickman, is one beautiful man!

@SognoCapricioso
Most epic death ever? Apparently you have not read about Achilles' death in the Iliad by Homer nor have seen Julius Caesar by the bard.
