Oh n ya mufukkas crazy talkin Nas only good album was Illmatic!! What happen to It Was Written, I Am was ehh some knocks tho, but Stillmatic, Lost Tapes was fire I ont kno watcha talkin bout
Tupac a dope rapper n eything but look how long it took for him to get where he was at in Death Row n look at BIG comin str8 out the gate wit his shit. I think Pac was better but remember BIG went diamond for a reason. Honestly, I think Pac hated NY cuz he kept the wrong ppl around involved in some street shit n caught beef wit some real street niggas. Picture a nigga nowadays reppin his hometown then switch sidin, ain't gonna happen. Pac was great but he type fake for that but wateva.
rakim is overrated sorry to all you bitches trying to convince yourself other wise....it wont change the fact that the man your listening to in this interview is the greatest of all time and nothing you say or think will change that. You all constantly try to find some one better than 2pac and you never will.
whats wiv the "n" word ??? theres no need for that shit !!! the "n" word should be fazed out !! that aint no good talkin dude !!!! i know black people that hate that word like i do !! so lets set a good example for our kids and kill that word !!!!!
RIP PAC MUCH LOVE!!! BUT ON THE REAL OLD SCHOOL OR NOT YOU COULDNT FUCK WITH RAKIM OR KRS ON YOUR BEST DAY MY DUDE ! IF YOU TRIED TO MASTER RAKIMS STYLE THE WORLD WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT AND WOULD HAVE CLOWNED YOU..
Anybody that thinks pac is overrated clearly doesn't know rap or is from new york or just a hater if u hear his lyrics he can compete with any rapper if you hear biggie and pac i think people get to caught up with biggies flow but i think pac is better lyricly thats why in my opinion he is the greatest rapper and the most successful rapper of all time nobody has outsold him yet!! fuck all pac haterz!!
@vanessa03041000 Lol, no. 2Pac is overrated great rapper but overrated because of his death and his fans who act as if he invented Hip-Hop and Rap and was the only good rapper ever. Think about this if 2pac never died and didn't release a single song after the 7 Day theory would people be calling him the greatest MC ever? No they'd be calling people like Rakim or Nas the greatest.
@The12Jacob You are seriously mistaken!! 2Pac is in no way overrated. He was a living legend before he died. Maybe you didn't know who he was before he died because you were oblivious to the rap game or too young. He was a revolutionary, a poet, and the most powerful rapper of all time, hands down.
@DylonDylanDylon Well it's all opinion but really the only rapper i like more than Pac is Nas the only reason people liked Pac more because he was more mainstream than Nas ever was, compare Nas to Tupac. Nas is a revolutionist too a game changer and he is Hip Hop's greatest poet no one has his lyrical ability and no one can tell a story like him. It's all opinion though i don't care if you think Pac is better whatever pleases your ears but thank you for not being elitist asshole.
@The12Jacob I hear you. Nas is dope. Illmatic is probably my favorite rap album of all-time. About the whole mainstream thing, Nas tried to break into the mainstream with "Hate Me Now" (watch the video if you disagree). But I definitely agree that deep down Tupac wanted the spotlight more than Nas. It is hard to compare them. They are both amazing.
@The12Jacob i think he would still be considered the greatest, and nas has only had one good album in 25 years i give him props for illmatic but that's it.i still have respect for pac than nas because pac wasn't fake like most rappers and i don't believe most of the shit nas rapped he was a pac style taker he wanted to be like pac and nas looked like a fake thug.
Pac did 'All eyes on Me" in less than 2 weeks (double cd) and Don Killuminati 7 day Theory in one week. This man was a geinus.... Listen to what KRS1 say about pac in the movie "2PAC 4ever" and pac was saying if they dissed him then, in 96, when he had the crown. r.i.p. young prince
controversy did not create tupac, sadly it was pac who often created controversy for himself by surrounding himself with the wrong people... but in terms of conveying a message (good or bad) or the plethora of human emotion, no body then or now can touch him. i wish somebody would though, somebody without the affinity for mob shit.
Fuck all y'all that is hateing on cap here i just wanna say fuck u bitch ass nigga pac was a good person he change my life and saved me he change many young black males life so why hate on him.. cause he is a thug? fuck that!!!
@Gedeon777G Na bro we aint hating him, we just saying he aint the best rapper ever, the king of rap, the greatest etc..like what a lot of dudes say all the time.Thats probably all they ever listen to...btw,.how did pac change ur life bro..!? Im quite interested in how a gangsta rapper changes ppl for the better, i mean when i heard Eazy E Nobody move all i wanted to do was go out & re-enact robbin a bank, shoot ppl if they tried fkn with me but thank God we couldn't get the lock off the trigger..
@Gedeon777G to be honest nobody is actually hating 2pac, I have all his albums and respect his talent, however its the media hype what real hip hop cats do not like. He will always be one of the greatest rappers of all time, but the greatest MC, thats a whole different ball game. Rakim (flow), KRS 1 (battle style) and even LL Cool J (remember Rock the Bells / Nothing was like that track in 85 / and a positive role model). Those key points is something that Pac could not touch
Shame, it seems Pac was caught when he was drunk or high, if not on a substance, then his own ego. KRS, Ra and LL would tsunami him. I like Pac, as a person, and i agree, all we emcees have learnt and grown on these other rappers, and nuff emcees have surpassed their predecessors, but the three emcees mentioned thrive on competition and historically have ended all challenges.
Tupac Was A Great Artsit But he thought a bit 2 much of himself thats 4 sure I Mean he aint fucking with krs one or rakim i would put him above ll due 2 cool j falling off and making really only soft chick rap 4 most of the 90s but even early young ll cool j would be above pac imo
i rate rappers by how much they sold as that tells how many people truly like their shit. krs1 and rakim arent even on the top 20 list. doesnt mean i dont like them but not that many other people do.eminem is definitly up there but hes been around since i left primary school which is a fucken long time. 2pac did what eminem did in half the time, and still got songs coming out, plus they killed him that means they feared him.. why? cause hes the best... and biggie... was good at spelling lol
@mladendinho You rate by sales? That's honestly stupid. Sales do NOT mean talent, skills, or even that the masses love them. Sales mean they had promotion, marketing, and a label or cash behind them. Crooked I is one of the illest lyricist ever, but not a top seller. Soulja Boy has sold, Waka, Gucci, DFB.. Waka has no talents as an artist, but is famous. Without Rakim or KRS, the game wouldn't exist as it does today. They created lyricism as we know it, fuck sales.
im a big 2pac fan,but c'mon.....krs and rakim??!!......he might have destroyed LL,but i dont know about tha blastmaster krs-1 and rakim.i grew up on those cats.....rip 2pac...
Hes saying how rappers get better as time goes on. He's trying to state that with rap you take other styles and make your own not that he contributed more to rap than these other rappers like rakim and krs one cause he didnt.
thank god imthefreshest, you know what hip hop is all about. sick and tired of the 2pac hype. he is AND WILL ONLY BE A GREAT RAPPER BUT NEVER AN MC. he does not have the flow and even Busta Rhymes would destroy him
Bwahahaaha, good thing you got shot I guess, if you talk shit like that about KRS or Rakim. Fucking ridiculous! He would destroy them... Wuahaha, 2pack you made my fucking week!
The guy was the most critically acclaimed lyricist in 90's and was considered the next RAKIM. The reason he couldn't make it to mainstream cause of his tendency to work with bad producers.
@imtheFreshest - You replied first you silly clown. lol. Perhaps, you need to give "ME" a break. And, pac's dead, don't worry about his dick, but you definitely need to stop sucking off rakim. lol
@rahully2j bollocks!!!!! he worked with Dre. granted he made a lot of average underground albums but he was never serious or hardcore. He is a pin up for god sakes and went mainstream!!!
@rahully2j / Rakim changed the game because of his unique flow and voice. the key word here is FLOW. something that 2pac was very average. 2pac was never considered AN MC
@gregtanian - I know Rakim is superior to Pac in terms of technical skills. When did I say Pac is the greatest lyricist? Pac was never considered a lyricist? A serious case of bad comedy here. There were 4 polls conducted in 03-04 and Pac was considered the greatest rapper and MC by "viewers" and fans. Not that I care, I'm just telling you that you're getting delusional in every comment.
I have no idea of hip hop? Look whoz talking, another mainstream head. You probably like lil wayne and drake too ay? I'm talking about skill here not who has more money. Go do some research about him and come back.
@rahully2j / LL revolutionised hip hop back in 86, you really need to look up the word revolutionise cos you dont understand that as a concept. "Rock the Bells"??? Nobody came out as raw as him back then so you need realise. Lil Wayne over rated but do like Carter 3 lp. Drake is good but thats only because he is surrounded by crap, so he sticks out. Done the research and tell me what has Cannibus done after the battle. you can not even think of comparing the two.
@gregtanian - You claim that you've done your research on Canibus and yet you can't spell his name properly? lol. Rip the Jacker > LL's whole catalogue. Hell, poet laureate infinity alone > anything ll ever made. I guess, to each his own here. I don't wanna argue on this shit all over again. And, I may be a clown, but you're definitely a schizophrenic retard. Take it in a sarcastic way or seriously, I don't care.
@rahully2j You're a damn idiot for even thinking 2pac was in the league of Rakim. Then you are going on about lyricist, and mainstream head. PAC WAS MAINSTREAM IN HIS LATE CAREER DUMB FUCK!!!
@gregtanian - Oh, you sound frustrated. lol. You seem to hate pac a lot. Are you that intimidated by him? And, I know he was mainstream ya dumb fuck, but he didn't sell out. He made good music unlike guys like wayne and drake who are destroying hip hop these days. Actually, Ill just add eminem with them.
@rahully2j not frustrated. Your the one saying 2pac is the greatest lol!!! then you go on about him being underground and now you say mainstream lol, you are beginning to sound more hypocritical then USA it self. Your the one bringing Wayne and Drake into the equation. Im the old man. And actually yes I think Eminem would destroy 2pac in a battle rap. I actually do like Pac but hate the over hype that he gets from cunts like you
@gregtanian I played Rakim "Follow the Leader" and Paid in Full only last week and tore the house down, to young kids. Considering Pac is this mainstream beast he sucks in club land. California Love and How do you (rnb) want it... lol, Sorry but you stick to your fucking MTV, I know when it comes to big joints in a club, what would go down in a REAL hip hop club
@gregtanian "Follow the Leader" one of the greatest hip hop tracks of all time IMO,a good guy too, such a contrast to the jumped up ballet dancing rapist that is 2pac.
@NrichD respect NrichD. I hate when idiots talk crap. They have know comprehension of the difference of Hip Hop and Rap. We talk about revolutionary rappers that changed the game. How can Pac ever say he is better than guys that created new shit that he admits he stole. Plus I think Pac is just an over hyped pin up that should stick to acting because he is better at acting than rapping. Fact
@gregtanian Ouch! Yeah I never thought he was that great.....but Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z is the "Fear of a Black Planet" of "Thug Life/Gangsta" rap.
@gregtanian True bro! I never really digged his music aye..seemed2be2negative,having said that,i do like a few of his songs when i heard,Dear mama,So much pain,Changes and Until the end of time,& thats it..Dre was about to put out California Love as a single, but Suge Knight being the Manager/Blood affiliated gangsta motherfka told him to put 2pac on there,Suge knight went & fkde Death Row Records up!,& Pac was so over the top with his ego he dissed Dr.Dre 4 leaving Death Row..Dre created it!...
@gregtanian - Look old man, you're suffering from schizophrenia. So, I won't even go that far addressing your crap. And, where did I say Pac is the greatest? You can't even read for shit. Em would destroy Pac in fantasies? Agreed. The guy couldn't even battle a real MC. LOL. Who did he beef with? Mariah carey, benzino, everlast, ja rule? You crack me up.
@gregtanian - Pac touched people at different levels. I would like to see Rakim doing that. How many people bump rakim today? I don't see anyone. Only guys I see relevant these days from old school are Pac, Nas and probably Ice Cube - NWA. Go get some medication.
@rahully2j Rakim did touch a lot of people because he REVOLUTIONISED HIP HOP AS AN MC RAPPER. Back in 87 hip hop was under ground and real but he still reached a lot of people. NOW GET OFF THE FUCKING CRACK
@gregtanian - Rakim influenced other rappers, no doubt, but he didn't touch people at different levels like Pac did. Just cause he revolutionized shit doesn't mean he is the greatest. He is better than Pac in technical skills, that's about it. Go do some homework, your knowledge is outdated.
who is Canibus, obviously you have no idea about hip hop. LL's career is still going after nearly 3 decades and Canibus career kind of finished after the battle with LL. Where is the guy now!!!! lol
Me and alot of heads I know, bang Canibus alot. The guy is in our speakers and heads I guess...
You guys fanboying about this or that beef and taking position for a guy you just know/like because of his music, are funny... So childish... So childish.
@imtheFreshest I bang Canibus a lot also and he is good. Just dont consider him doing anything revolutionary. A point I am trying painfully to tell some peeps. Canibus is an MC as well as a rapper, no doubt
notable attention must go out to LL, a very under rated rapper who can be a rapper or an mc, and deliver it hard or soft to the ladies. After over 10 massive albums he is more an iconic role model than 2pac could ever be
too many deluded youngsters that big Tupac up have no understanding on what HIP HOP is all about. The reasons why I would put the likes of Nice n Smooth, Chubb Rock, Slick Rick ahead of Tupac is they never had big production on there albums and had sick flows. Tupac had great lyrics but he was ALWAYS A RAPPER, BUT NEVER AN MC. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE AND I SUGGEST SOME YOU YOUNG IDIOTS LEARN THE DIFFERENCE. RAHULLY, OMGSTEVIE., I can tell you got into this in mid 90's.
man, tupac could never beat ice cube for rapping.. i dunno why he says he's mastered cubes lyrics, nobody could ever right songs like 'fuck the police' and 'gangsta gangsta' ' str8 outta compton etc at the age of 19 & make it sound so forceful, like N.w.a did it.. i was neva into pac as his songs had no structure,& lyrically went all ova the place from 1 subject to another, then something with absolutely no correlation to what he just finished saying all in the 1 song.. he was all ova the wheres
@NrichD ..something else i meant, not like say dre's chronic album, '92.. or snoops doggystyle album which told the story right from the 'beginning to the end' of the song and didnt go off on tangents like i heard 2pac's songs doing, sorry to all 2pac fans, but i agree with most of the other peeps on here, 2 me he shudnt have named names in the rap game saying ' fk this group, fk that group,' fk them too..N.w.a neva eva did that, he got the rap game fkde up, that wasnt necessary to do that..
@NrichD Public Enemy. They didn't rap full of punchlines and similes, yet they rapped about what they thought should be relevant. The problem is, people don't judge artist by the same pallet. Pac did rhyme all over the place, while others get a pass. Just check that Biggie and Tupac video with Pac and Biggie free-styling together. Biggies rhymes if anything was more all over the place and random, while Pac stayed on pace. He went from talking about killing, to driving a big ass truck, to sex.
Lyrically PAc was wack! He never shot anyone or lived a thug life for most of his life. Pac was hyped after he died. Most folks in the midwest and eastcoast was about the Wu,NAS,Common,Phar,M-deep, Snoop-dre, Ghetto boys, Guru0-Gangstarr, Rakim, LL, MOS, KRS,... Pac will never be a NAS,Common, Guru, or KRS. Pac's albums were mostly wack. If it weren't for Dre his shit would be mostly wack. He is overrated by young mofos! All of us old dudes know Pac wasn't all that. Pac had passion, that's all.
Let's be honest, it's not as if Biggie, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Big L ,NAS, or whoever rap artist were really mafiosos or drug kingpins. Yet that was the character in which they portrayed on those albums. Lyrics about gratuitous, exaggerated, fantasy violence that they've probably never witnessed doesn't make your music more based in reality. Biggie might have sold some rocks, that doesn't make him a kingpin. Nas saying he found new respect for Pac, rubbed people the wrong way. That's just hip-hop.
@hushg2000 Hit Em Up, though it wasn't lyrically GREAT, was still a scathing diss. I think people who dislike Pac kinda take their negative perspective of Pac and go overboard with it. In essence they're just as bad as Pac stans. Hit Em Up had Biggie riled up, and for good reason. And about Pac not being respected by older Hip-Hop heads, all it takes is a couple seconds to see an interview of KRS, Rakim, Nas, or whoever talking about how they respected Pac. Nothing much to it.
in the rap game ur suppose 2 think that nobody can touch u lyrically, i'am not suprised that Pac said he would destroy Rakim or KRS 1 especially comin from him
i dnt understand y mothertfuckers cant get this straight in thier fucking head huh,yea yea yea tupac can destroy anyone who diss him, stupid people up here listen to what tupac is saying,he first give em thier respect, tupac had respect for KRS one rakeem, ice cube n LL cool j bcs they all came in the game be4 him, right, but the era of 95,96 men fuckevery body else,he can fuck with anyone he wish,
n even go listen to rakeem krs 1,ice cube n ll cool interview where they talk bout pac, they respect him
Let me get this straight - In freestyle battle, rakim and krs-one would destroy pac, but not in a full blown beef. In 96 pac was like the strongest guy. He was already at a legendary status. No one would have done any damage to him. And, the fact that he already mastered their style shouldn't be a problem. Using complex words or multies alone won't help you to win. His power/ potency in words would have overshadowed anything rakim said. Pac had the whole world following him. He was the real DON.
@rahully2j The whole world following him??LMAO How old are you? Sorry my dude, you are absolutely wrong. PAc or Biggie were on the billboards, but they weren't what real Hip-hop folks were listening to all the time. Common Sense, NAS, Guru, KRS, WU, Black moon, Phar,etc... Need to check your music. Pac was like an art painting, he was worth more DEAD. Without DRE, he wasn't shit.
@hushg2000 - You do realize everything you just said is subjective? I have my opinions, you have yours. Don't make it look like it's a fact. All the rappers you mentioned are 1 dimensional. I know my music, you don't need to remind me. Nas wished he was Pac. Go listen to his mixtapes or interviews. Using complex words or multies doesn't make you better. If that's the case, then Canibus is the greatest rapper of all time. Nas is trying to do what Pac did. Go deeper.
@hushg2000 - Without DRE, he wasn't shit? Is that why me against the world is considered his best album? The guy was keeping it real. He has studied other rappers. If he said he could destroy them, then that means he could, doesn't necessary have to mean lyrically. It could be street credibility. In terms of complex lyrics, biggie > 2pac yet he lost to him. So, next time if you're going to reply me make sure you write - "IMO" (In my opinion). Peace.
@rahully2j And what album was before "me against the world" again? Please humor me! If you actually believe that Pac was better than any of those he named, you are delusional or just very young. Pac street credibility? What street? Maryland while he was into ballet? Or his thugs way when he started hanging out with Breed R.I.P & DG? If you believe he is everything, than that's just fine... but don't expect for older cats not to come after your comments.
@hushg2000 - Me against the world and 7 day theory are considered his best work. Dre didn't do shit except 2-3 songs. Define better. In what aspect? Lyrically? In what area? This isn't freestlye battle where pac would lose no doubt. It's an all out war. You don't have to destroy someone with punchlines as evident in his battle against big. Pac had no street credibility in the start, but in later years he was the strongest guy (96).
@hushg2000 - I don't believe pac is everything. Personally, I feel he is overrated in some areas. Definitely not the best lyricist, but saying he is nothing compared to other rappers is beyond content. He is overall the best rapper IMO. His songs have diversity unlike other rappers and the guy accomplished alot at the age of 25 than most of the rappers do in their life times. Oh yea, solely in terms of lyrics - Canibus and Big Pun > any rapper you mentioned.
@rahully2j Overall the best rapper? Maybe in your opinion. He is far from that. He accomplished a lot at the age of 25? Ooook. Snoop accomplished more before the age of 21. So does that make Snoop a top 3? Snoop in two records accomplished more than 80% of Pac's career. Snoop came in beasting, can't say that for Pac, sorry. It wasn't until he joined Death Row that his career took off a bit. Nas recorded the best album ever in 1993-94ish with Illmatic. He was 21. Pac can only dream.
@hushg2000 - Snoop accomplished alot? Don't make me laugh. He is not even considered a genuine rapper. Tell me what did he achieve? Go ahead and enlighten me. Yes, nas recorded his best album in 93 followed by a flow of garbage albums until he released stillmatic. A good rapper is the one whose albums/songs get better everytime. Pac's last 3 albums went number 1 on billboard. Pac doesn't have to dream anything when he was already on top of the game.
@rahully2j Again, you said Pac accomplished a lot at the age of 25... and I proved to you that's not the case. Snoops first jams (Mix tape with W-G & Deep Cover) were by far superior to Pacs first 60 songs, r u kidding me? "Finger on the trigger, hand on my 9, was spit by Snoop at the age of 16 in Warren G's mix tapes.1989. It took Pac 600000 songs later to be affective. "Strictly for my Nigs",.. besides 3 jams was garbage! Chronic, DF, & Doggystyle? Nas garbage after Illmatic?LMAO
@hushg2000 - Mix tapes? lol how many songs did he make? And, you're telling me they are better than pac's last 3 albums? Pac wrote many songs under 20 which are unreleased and afeni plans to release them if you didn't know that. They are also making 2 movies on him. Do some research. About Nas: I am and nastradamus were pure garbage, if you think the other way around then I guess you're overrating him. It was written was average with only few good songs.
@rahully2j Sorry, Pac is not in my top 10. But if you want to keep going on about unreleased shit, than go right ahead. PAc was mainstream hype!!! I'm 36yrs old, I grew up in the 80's & 90's. Pac was great at putting out a lot of emotions on his albums because he was a loud human, but lets not get carried away. I listened to Pac back then, but to think he was above everyone is just dumb and not true. We had a lot of different MC's back then to listen too.
@hushg2000 - Brother, I never claimed Pac is the greatest lyricist. I believe Pac is the best rapper overall as in complete. He has diverse subject matter and you can relate to him unlike other rappers. Lyrically, he is not in top 10 I agree. Big Pun, Big L, Canibus, Rakim, Papoose, Cassidy and Immortal Technique are better than him.
@rahully2j Diversity? Your options of Hip-Hop Mc's must have been very limited if you believe that. Arrested development, Digitable planets, Chub, Eric Sermon, etc.. had plenty of diversity. The only thing Pac had over everyone was IGNORANCE. The man talked about sistas & the struggle for a black man, yet the only folks he picked on and disrespected was his own so-called BROTHAS! Take that to the bank. I got all Pac's stuff, but let's KEEP IT REAL.
@hushg2000 - Your 2nd post pretty much proves that you clearly know nothing about Pac. Well, fair enough whatever floats your boat. Saying pac is the greatest or nas is the greatest doesn't make it a fact. At the end of the day, I listen to both of them. I know which rappers have diversity. And, yea he picked on those "brothas" who attacked him first. Let's KEEP IT REAL.
@rahully2j Your posts clearly show you know nothing about Hip-Hop. If you strongly believe Pac is as big as you make him out to be, then what ever makes you horny. Nas, Kanye, & Common are superior to Pac. Stats don't lie. You keep saying Pac was diversity? Pac was about Black, and only Black. Sorry, you fail and that category. No one attacked Pac ever or cared for him. Pac like the mainstream whore he was yapped his mouth constantly through Tv & Mags. He was the real bitch, sorry.
@hushg2000 - Hell even jay-z dissed him by mentioning he only released 1 good album in all those years. And, I m comparing 2Pac (25) vs Nas (25). If nas died at 25, he would be nothing. Pac was the real bitch? Ok, then I'll just stop here. Talking about what makes me horny, it seems like you're on nas's dick 24/7. No one attacked pac? LOL I don't mean to nitpick but you're the most naive hip hop head I came across.
@rahully2j You should read everyone's opinions on Hip-hop on this page and you will see why we came to this debate. Common, NAS, & Kanye to me are by far right now the best of all time. Pac had 100000000 songs, 20 are really good, the rest are garbage. Pac a bitch? Yes, in the fact that he was the biggest hypocrite in Hip-Hop.... look,. back then we had plenty of MC's to listen too, it's not until Pacs death that he was glorified, He was worth more dead than alive. Easy sell.
@hushg2000 - Technically in lyrics is only 1 aspect. It doesn't make you the greatest. Go listen to Nas mixtapes. He is trying to be like Pac or do you want me to pull some quotes for you? And, no he was worth more alive than dead. Sure, he left a lot of work but they are not of the same quality. The guy was already an icon in 96.
@rahully2j I can care less for Jay-Z disses. Most Hip-Hop folks listen to NAS over Jay. That's a fact.
Naive? I think I taught u a lesson in the reality of Hip-Hop. You say Pac was huge and all that, and I say, nOOOO. That's all I am saying. You are the one trying to prove points by coming in with the age differences & the unreleased shit. Please, I know a lot of one hit wonders in the early 90's who had better albums than Pac. The YOUNGSTAZ had better first album than Pac.SMH
@hushg2000 People say he's worth more dead, but soo many people don't realize that he DID sell records while he was alive. All Eyez On Me went 6times Platinum about 5 months before he died.
He didnt say this in the late 80's. In the mid-90's he would have crushed any rapper out there. BIG NAS ETC......wouldnt even say a word........imagine them dusty mutha fukas beating 2pac in 95 96 hahahahaha
Just because rakim was the godfather and one of the people who started rap doesn't make him the best Big L was also one of the best lyrically but he still didn't have the message like tupac did neither did nas
Tupac is the best rapper of all time and this is non biases because I like rakim biggie and everybody else too. Lyrically, rakim would've beaten tupac but tupac was still really good lyrically for example listen to his song "pain" and then tell me he's not good lyrically! But the thing that made pac the best ever is he had the same message in all his songs and they all meant something and he was an amazing poet no other rapper could say what he was trying to say other than the womens rights e
OOOOh look at this a whole Pac hating stream. Fucking losers. Lol Everyone's mad because Pac called it as it was and people bitched the fuck out. Oh, and now that he's dead, everyones just top fucking shit now. Now Nas is the best rapper, Gay-z is apparently legally aloud to crown the king of rapper, and eminem has to fucking collaborate with the same mainstream fucks that all you punks like. If all these stupid fucks were better then Pac,n would "destroy" pac in a rap, then let's fuckin see it
Rakim, G Rap, KRS-One these cats would bury pac on lyrical skill alone. Fuck pac was an egotistical asshole, pac was an average rapper at best with mainstream songs and albums which featured a few pop chart singles and dull, filler songs.
@CW043 Exactly right and if he was so smart like his dickriding fanboys claim then he wouldn't have jumped Orlando anderson a known crip. I believe this action caused his death and it didn't even involve him, he was stupid enough to believe what 2 paid FBI informants in jail told him about Biggie setting him up and he was stupid enough to believe whatever Suge knight told him. Suge was the one inciting this whole East/West bullshit, 2pac was just his puppet. But yea lyrically he was weak, fact.
@OldSchoolgamerNZ THANK YOU!!!! People sweat PAc like he was this great rapper of the 90's... dude had passion, but far from being a LL, KRS,etc... Pac was a follower and believed everything folks around him told him. That is why he was out of control. He reminded me of the Pee-wee gangbangers who ran around trying to prove something.... I never once heard Common, KRS,NAS, Kain,LL, and GURU ever rant over Pac back then,... he was a nobody to them and probably still is.
@hushg2000 no worries :) Without a doubt one thing I've learned is 2pac fanboys are the most obsessively ignorant bunch of borderline faggots to ever exist, anytime anyone confronts them with his true background and not so published life story they immediatly deny whatever it is only because they're gay for his cock. I wonder how many gangstas n thugs on the street have done ballet, probably None yet its ok for pac to do it why? Because he said hes a thug lol, no one even questions him on that
@20trillion well at least Diddy and Mase never did ballet or got raped in jail or got they nuts shot off or got convicted of sexually violating a girl or got shot to death for running they mouthes like bitches...
@OldSchoolgamerNZ You're pretty much doing the same thing you accuse Pac stans of doing. Let me play devils advocate, suppose Pac is right. Hip-Hop and the art of freestyle evolved as time went on. Back then in the old school era of KRS, and Rakim, you didn't HAVE to have much of any punchlines and clever lyrics or sharp disses to draw a reaction from a crowd. Everyone wants to put the old school into a sacred box, and that's cool. Pac overrated? Sure, just dont' stray too far from reality.
@CW043 word, and, tupac was from the west coast, trying to rep the east coast, 2 totally different styles back then.. he should have stayed on the west coast, they got the best style.. i would have digged him then.. now they got all this radio bullshit out trying to dominate, and making fkn idiots out of our youth! bling bling, rolling on shit,. they could never match the intelligent rapping of N.w.a/Public Enemy Bone thugs n Harmony etc etc etc - what all these other dudes said on this page.. !
oh also Chuck D, Nas, Heavy D, Big Daddy Kane. 2pac is on crack if he thought he could deal with these cats. Any fool can sell records. MC Hammer and Vanilla ice did that. Gone to his head and totally
2pac would not even stand close to Guru, Eminem, Chubb Rock, Biggie, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap and loads of others. Decent rapper but NEVER and mc. He can sell records but never was a battle rapper. sorry he was over hyped for his craziness
there is not best rapper leave it at that. but they're rappers that excel in their own respective categories, 2Pac being heart/emotion, biggie being flow, nas being lyrics, hell we're talking about mainstream. they're underground rappers that are better than them like mf doom. however i do enjoy dmx more that them maybe 2pac being equal with X
And of course he had most sails... HE WAZ FUKKING MAINSTREAM Yehh REAL NIGGA?? Pshhh he sold his soul at a point in time Duhh of course hes gnna get known worldwide ALL U GUYS LISTEN TO DA RADIO!! Haha
I guarantee half the people just read the headline, and didn't listen to the actual interview.

Anybody that thinks pac is overrated clearly doesn't know rap or is from new york or just a hater if u hear his lyrics he can compete with any rapper if you hear biggie and pac i think people get to caught up with biggies flow but i think pac is better lyricly thats why in my opinion he is the greatest rapper and the most successful rapper of all time nobody has outsold him yet!! fuck all pac haterz!!
vanessa03041000 2 weeks ago
@vanessa03041000 Lol, no. 2Pac is overrated great rapper but overrated because of his death and his fans who act as if he invented Hip-Hop and Rap and was the only good rapper ever. Think about this if 2pac never died and didn't release a single song after the 7 Day theory would people be calling him the greatest MC ever? No they'd be calling people like Rakim or Nas the greatest.
The12Jacob 2 weeks ago
@The12Jacob You are seriously mistaken!! 2Pac is in no way overrated. He was a living legend before he died. Maybe you didn't know who he was before he died because you were oblivious to the rap game or too young. He was a revolutionary, a poet, and the most powerful rapper of all time, hands down.
DylonDylanDylon 2 weeks ago
@DylonDylanDylon Well it's all opinion but really the only rapper i like more than Pac is Nas the only reason people liked Pac more because he was more mainstream than Nas ever was, compare Nas to Tupac. Nas is a revolutionist too a game changer and he is Hip Hop's greatest poet no one has his lyrical ability and no one can tell a story like him. It's all opinion though i don't care if you think Pac is better whatever pleases your ears but thank you for not being elitist asshole.
The12Jacob 2 weeks ago
@The12Jacob I hear you. Nas is dope. Illmatic is probably my favorite rap album of all-time. About the whole mainstream thing, Nas tried to break into the mainstream with "Hate Me Now" (watch the video if you disagree). But I definitely agree that deep down Tupac wanted the spotlight more than Nas. It is hard to compare them. They are both amazing.
DylonDylanDylon 2 weeks ago
@The12Jacob i think he would still be considered the greatest, and nas has only had one good album in 25 years i give him props for illmatic but that's it.i still have respect for pac than nas because pac wasn't fake like most rappers and i don't believe most of the shit nas rapped he was a pac style taker he wanted to be like pac and nas looked like a fake thug.
vanessa03041000 2 weeks ago
Pac did 'All eyes on Me" in less than 2 weeks (double cd) and Don Killuminati 7 day Theory in one week. This man was a geinus.... Listen to what KRS1 say about pac in the movie "2PAC 4ever" and pac was saying if they dissed him then, in 96, when he had the crown. r.i.p. young prince
antoniomalachi 2 weeks ago 10
controversy did not create tupac, sadly it was pac who often created controversy for himself by surrounding himself with the wrong people... but in terms of conveying a message (good or bad) or the plethora of human emotion, no body then or now can touch him. i wish somebody would though, somebody without the affinity for mob shit.

NrichD 2 weeks ago
@Gedeon777G to be honest nobody is actually hating 2pac, I have all his albums and respect his talent, however its the media hype what real hip hop cats do not like. He will always be one of the greatest rappers of all time, but the greatest MC, thats a whole different ball game. Rakim (flow), KRS 1 (battle style) and even LL Cool J (remember Rock the Bells / Nothing was like that track in 85 / and a positive role model). Those key points is something that Pac could not touch
gregtanian 2 weeks ago
Shame, it seems Pac was caught when he was drunk or high, if not on a substance, then his own ego. KRS, Ra and LL would tsunami him. I like Pac, as a person, and i agree, all we emcees have learnt and grown on these other rappers, and nuff emcees have surpassed their predecessors, but the three emcees mentioned thrive on competition and historically have ended all challenges.

i rate rappers by how much they sold as that tells how many people truly like their shit. krs1 and rakim arent even on the top 20 list. doesnt mean i dont like them but not that many other people do.eminem is definitly up there but hes been around since i left primary school which is a fucken long time. 2pac did what eminem did in half the time, and still got songs coming out, plus they killed him that means they feared him.. why? cause hes the best... and biggie... was good at spelling lol
mladendinho 3 weeks ago
@mladendinho Wrong on your last 2 points mate.
NrichD 3 weeks ago
@mladendinho You rate by sales? That's honestly stupid. Sales do NOT mean talent, skills, or even that the masses love them. Sales mean they had promotion, marketing, and a label or cash behind them. Crooked I is one of the illest lyricist ever, but not a top seller. Soulja Boy has sold, Waka, Gucci, DFB.. Waka has no talents as an artist, but is famous. Without Rakim or KRS, the game wouldn't exist as it does today. They created lyricism as we know it, fuck sales.

@rahully2j bollocks!!!!! he worked with Dre. granted he made a lot of average underground albums but he was never serious or hardcore. He is a pin up for god sakes and went mainstream!!!
gregtanian 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j / Rakim changed the game because of his unique flow and voice. the key word here is FLOW. something that 2pac was very average. 2pac was never considered AN MC
gregtanian 3 weeks ago
@gregtanian - I know Rakim is superior to Pac in terms of technical skills. When did I say Pac is the greatest lyricist? Pac was never considered a lyricist? A serious case of bad comedy here. There were 4 polls conducted in 03-04 and Pac was considered the greatest rapper and MC by "viewers" and fans. Not that I care, I'm just telling you that you're getting delusional in every comment.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
I have no idea of hip hop? Look whoz talking, another mainstream head. You probably like lil wayne and drake too ay? I'm talking about skill here not who has more money. Go do some research about him and come back.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j / LL revolutionised hip hop back in 86, you really need to look up the word revolutionise cos you dont understand that as a concept. "Rock the Bells"??? Nobody came out as raw as him back then so you need realise. Lil Wayne over rated but do like Carter 3 lp. Drake is good but thats only because he is surrounded by crap, so he sticks out. Done the research and tell me what has Cannibus done after the battle. you can not even think of comparing the two.
gregtanian 3 weeks ago
@gregtanian - You claim that you've done your research on Canibus and yet you can't spell his name properly? lol. Rip the Jacker > LL's whole catalogue. Hell, poet laureate infinity alone > anything ll ever made. I guess, to each his own here. I don't wanna argue on this shit all over again. And, I may be a clown, but you're definitely a schizophrenic retard. Take it in a sarcastic way or seriously, I don't care.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago

gregtanian 3 weeks ago
@gregtanian - Oh, you sound frustrated. lol. You seem to hate pac a lot. Are you that intimidated by him? And, I know he was mainstream ya dumb fuck, but he didn't sell out. He made good music unlike guys like wayne and drake who are destroying hip hop these days. Actually, Ill just add eminem with them.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j not frustrated. Your the one saying 2pac is the greatest lol!!! then you go on about him being underground and now you say mainstream lol, you are beginning to sound more hypocritical then USA it self. I actually do like Pac but hate the over hype that he gets from cunts like you

rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j Rakim did touch a lot of people because he REVOLUTIONISED HIP HOP AS AN MC RAPPER. Back in 87 hip hop was under ground and real but he still reached a lot of people. NOW GET OFF THE FUCKING CRACK
gregtanian 3 weeks ago
@gregtanian - Rakim influenced other rappers, no doubt, but he didn't touch people at different levels like Pac did. Just cause he revolutionized shit doesn't mean he is the greatest. He is better than Pac in technical skills, that's about it. Go do some homework, your knowledge is outdated.

too many deluded youngsters that big Tupac up have no understanding on what HIP HOP is all about.

@hushg2000 true bro..
NrichD 4 weeks ago
Let's be honest, it's not as if Biggie, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Big L ,NAS, or whoever rap artist were really mafiosos or drug kingpins. Yet that was the character in which they portrayed on those albums. Lyrics about gratuitous, exaggerated, fantasy violence that they've probably never witnessed doesn't make your music more based in reality. Biggie might have sold some rocks, that doesn't make him a kingpin. Nas saying he found new respect for Pac, rubbed people the wrong way. That's just hip-hop.
MA3POLO 3 weeks ago
@hushg2000 Hit Em Up, though it wasn't lyrically GREAT, was still a scathing diss. I think people who dislike Pac kinda take their negative perspective of Pac and go overboard with it. In essence they're just as bad as Pac stans. Hit Em Up had Biggie riled up, and for good reason. And about Pac not being respected by older Hip-Hop heads, all it takes is a couple seconds to see an interview of KRS, Rakim, Nas, or whoever talking about how they respected Pac. Nothing much to it.

RealDefentertainment 1 month ago
Let me get this straight - In freestyle battle, rakim and krs-one would destroy pac, but not in a full blown beef. In 96 pac was like the strongest guy. He was already at a legendary status. No one would have done any damage to him. And, the fact that he already mastered their style shouldn't be a problem. Using complex words or multies alone won't help you to win. His power/ potency in words would have overshadowed anything rakim said. Pac had the whole world following him. He was the real DON.
rahully2j 1 month ago
@rahully2j The whole world following him??LMAO How old are you? Sorry my dude, you are absolutely wrong. PAc or Biggie were on the billboards, but they weren't what real Hip-hop folks were listening to all the time. Common Sense, NAS, Guru, KRS, WU, Black moon, Phar,etc... Need to check your music. Pac was like an art painting, he was worth more DEAD. Without DRE, he wasn't shit.
hushg2000 4 weeks ago 2
@hushg2000 - You do realize everything you just said is subjective? I have my opinions, you have yours. Don't make it look like it's a fact. All the rappers you mentioned are 1 dimensional. I know my music, you don't need to remind me. Nas wished he was Pac. Go listen to his mixtapes or interviews. Using complex words or multies doesn't make you better. If that's the case, then Canibus is the greatest rapper of all time. Nas is trying to do what Pac did. Go deeper.
rahully2j 4 weeks ago

If you believe he is everything, than that's just fine... but don't expect for older cats not to come after your comments.
hushg2000 4 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Me against the world and 7 day theory are considered his best work. Dre didn't do shit except 2-3 songs. Define better. In what aspect? Lyrically? In what area? This isn't freestlye battle where pac would lose no doubt. It's an all out war. You don't have to destroy someone with punchlines as evident in his battle against big. Pac had no street credibility in the start, but in later years he was the strongest guy (96).
rahully2j 4 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - I don't believe pac is everything. Personally, I feel he is overrated in some areas. Definitely not the best lyricist, but saying he is nothing compared to other rappers is beyond content. He is overall the best rapper IMO. His songs have diversity unlike other rappers and the guy accomplished alot at the age of 25 than most of the rappers do in their life times. Oh yea, solely in terms of lyrics - Canibus and Big Pun > any rapper you mentioned.
rahully2j 4 weeks ago
@rahully2j Overall the best rapper? Maybe in your opinion. He is far from that. He accomplished a lot at the age of 25? Ooook. Snoop accomplished more before the age of 21. So does that make Snoop a top 3? Snoop in two records accomplished more than 80% of Pac's career. Snoop came in beasting, can't say that for Pac, sorry. It wasn't until he joined Death Row that his career took off a bit. Nas recorded the best album ever in 1993-94ish with Illmatic. He was 21. Pac can only dream.
hushg2000 4 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Snoop accomplished alot? Don't make me laugh. He is not even considered a genuine rapper. Tell me what did he achieve? Go ahead and enlighten me. Yes, nas recorded his best album in 93 followed by a flow of garbage albums until he released stillmatic. A good rapper is the one whose albums/songs get better everytime. Pac's last 3 albums went number 1 on billboard. Pac doesn't have to dream anything when he was already on top of the game.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j Again, you said Pac accomplished a lot at the age of 25... and I proved to you that's not the case. Snoops first jams (Mix tape with W-G & Deep Cover) were by far superior to Pacs first 60 songs, r u kidding me? "Finger on the trigger, hand on my 9, was spit by Snoop at the age of 16 in Warren G's mix tapes.1989. It took Pac 600000 songs later to be affective. "Strictly for my Nigs",.. besides 3 jams was garbage! Chronic, DF, & Doggystyle? Nas garbage after Illmatic?LMAO
hushg2000 3 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Mix tapes? lol how many songs did he make? And, you're telling me they are better than pac's last 3 albums? Pac wrote many songs under 20 which are unreleased and afeni plans to release them if you didn't know that. They are also making 2 movies on him. Do some research. About Nas: I am and nastradamus were pure garbage, if you think the other way around then I guess you're overrating him. It was written was average with only few good songs.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j Sorry, Pac is not in my top 10. But if you want to keep going on about unreleased shit, than go right ahead. PAc was mainstream hype!!! I'm 36yrs old, I grew up in the 80's & 90's. Pac was great at putting out a lot of emotions on his albums because he was a loud human, but lets not get carried away. I listened to Pac back then, but to think he was above everyone is just dumb and not true. We had a lot of different MC's back then to listen too.
hushg2000 3 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Brother, I never claimed Pac is the greatest lyricist. I believe Pac is the best rapper overall as in complete. He has diverse subject matter and you can relate to him unlike other rappers. Lyrically, he is not in top 10 I agree. Big Pun, Big L, Canibus, Rakim, Papoose, Cassidy and Immortal Technique are better than him.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j Diversity? Your options of Hip-Hop Mc's must have been very limited if you believe that. Arrested development, Digitable planets, Chub, Eric Sermon, etc.. had plenty of diversity. The only thing Pac had over everyone was IGNORANCE. The man talked about sistas & the struggle for a black man, yet the only folks he picked on and disrespected was his own so-called BROTHAS! Take that to the bank. I got all Pac's stuff, but let's KEEP IT REAL.
hushg2000 4 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Your 2nd post pretty much proves that you clearly know nothing about Pac. Well, fair enough whatever floats your boat. Saying pac is the greatest or nas is the greatest doesn't make it a fact. At the end of the day, I listen to both of them. I know which rappers have diversity. And, yea he picked on those "brothas" who attacked him first. Let's KEEP IT REAL.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j Your posts clearly show you know nothing about Hip-Hop. If you strongly believe Pac is as big as you make him out to be, then what ever makes you horny. Nas, Kanye, & Common are superior to Pac. Stats don't lie. You keep saying Pac was diversity? Pac was about Black, and only Black. Sorry, you fail and that category. No one attacked Pac ever or cared for him. Pac like the mainstream whore he was yapped his mouth constantly through Tv & Mags. He was the real bitch, sorry.
hushg2000 3 weeks ago
@hushg2000 - Hell even jay-z dissed him by mentioning he only released 1 good album in all those years. And, I m comparing 2Pac (25) vs Nas (25). If nas died at 25, he would be nothing. Pac was the real bitch? Ok, then I'll just stop here. Talking about what makes me horny, it seems like you're on nas's dick 24/7. No one attacked pac? LOL I don't mean to nitpick but you're the most naive hip hop head I came across.
rahully2j 3 weeks ago
@rahully2j You should read everyone's opinions on Hip-hop on this page and you will see why we came to this debate. Common, NAS, & Kanye to me are by far right now the best of all time. Pac had 100000000 songs, 20 are really good, the rest are garbage. Pac a bitch? Yes, in the fact that he was the biggest hypocrite in Hip-Hop.... look,. back then we had plenty of MC's to listen too, it's not until Pacs death that he was glorified, He was worth more dead than alive. Easy sell.
hushg2000 3 weeks ago

The YOUNGSTAZ had better first album than Pac.SMH
hushg2000 3 weeks ago
@hushg2000 People say he's worth more dead, but soo many people don't realize that he DID sell records while he was alive. All Eyez On Me went 6times Platinum about 5 months before he died.
MA3POLO 3 weeks ago
He didnt say this in the late 80's. In the mid-90's he would have crushed any rapper out there. BIG NAS ETC......wouldnt even say a word........imagine them dusty mutha fukas beating 2pac in 95 96 hahahahaha

CW043 1 month ago
Just because rakim was the godfather and one of the people who started rap doesn't make him the best Big L was also one of the best lyrically but he still didn't have the message like tupac did neither did nas
OMGxSteviee 1 month ago
Tupac is the best rapper of all time and this is non biases because I like rakim biggie and everybody else too. Lyrically, rakim would've beaten tupac but tupac was still really good lyrically for example listen to his song "pain" and then tell me he's not good lyrically! But the thing that made pac the best ever is he had the same message in all his songs and they all meant something and he was an amazing poet no other rapper could say what he was trying to say other than the womens rights e
OMGxSteviee 1 month ago
OOOOh look at this a whole Pac hating stream. Fucking losers. Lol Everyone's mad because Pac called it as it was and people bitched the fuck out. Oh, and now that he's dead, everyones just top fucking shit now. Now Nas is the best rapper, Gay-z is apparently legally aloud to crown the king of rapper, and eminem has to fucking collaborate with the same mainstream fucks that all you punks like. If all these stupid fucks were better then Pac,n would "destroy" pac in a rap, then let's fuckin see it
SuperGauthier17 1 month ago
Rakim, G Rap, KRS-One these cats would bury pac on lyrical skill alone. Fuck pac was an egotistical asshole, pac was an average rapper at best with mainstream songs and albums which featured a few pop chart singles and dull, filler songs.
OldSchoolgamerNZ 1 month ago
@OldSchoolgamerNZ Yup! What he mastered was that controversy hype shit!
and at the end of the day, he didn't even master that, because it caught up with him and caused him to lose his life.
The truth is the light and IMO, between Tupac and all his BS with the East and then the
South mainstream (cause the South has some real Lyricist)... They destroyed Hip Hop.
CW043 1 month ago 8
@CW043 Exactly right and if he was so smart like his dickriding fanboys claim then he wouldn't have jumped Orlando anderson a known crip. I believe this action caused his death and it didn't even involve him, he was stupid enough to believe what 2 paid FBI informants in jail told him about Biggie setting him up and he was stupid enough to believe whatever Suge knight told him. Suge was the one inciting this whole East/West bullshit, 2pac was just his puppet. But yea lyrically he was weak, fact.
OldSchoolgamerNZ 1 month ago
@OldSchoolgamerNZ THANK YOU!!!! People sweat PAc like he was this great rapper of the 90's... dude had passion, but far from being a LL, KRS,etc... Pac was a follower and believed everything folks around him told him. That is why he was out of control. He reminded me of the Pee-wee gangbangers who ran around trying to prove something.... I never once heard Common, KRS,NAS, Kain,LL, and GURU ever rant over Pac back then,... he was a nobody to them and probably still is.
hushg2000 4 weeks ago
@hushg2000 no worries :) Without a doubt one thing I've learned is 2pac fanboys are the most obsessively ignorant bunch of borderline faggots to ever exist, anytime anyone confronts them with his true background and not so published life story they immediatly deny whatever it is only because they're gay for his cock. I wonder how many gangstas n thugs on the street have done ballet, probably None yet its ok for pac to do it why? Because he said hes a thug lol, no one even questions him on that

@OldSchoolgamerNZ Wayne, Eminem, and Jay-Z stans are way worse than Pac fanboys.
MA3POLO 3 weeks ago

NrichD 4 weeks ago
@NrichD I like Bone Thugs, but to say they were intelligent rappers? Seriously? All they did was rap about Weed and Death REALLY fast.

oh also Chuck D, Nas, Heavy D, Big Daddy Kane. 2pac is on crack if he thought he could deal with these cats. Any fool can sell records. MC Hammer and Vanilla ice did that. Gone to his head and totally
