This would be my son Jacob O'Reilly and myself Mark O'Reilly, James Hetfield stopped to speak to him as he is only 6 years old and he spotted him standing on the barrier with me in the front row of seats, Lars Ulrich also threw him his drumstick not bad for his first gig!

the lil boy was 6 in the end, I was stood RIGHT in fron tof him, scared the crap out of me (coz technically I'm a kid too) so I thought he was pointing at me for a while. But then I looked behind me :P

You're so lucky Molly! I live in Dublin and didn't get to see them when they came a few months ago :( That's some good footage of an AMAZING band! Damn those pyros look hot! But the metal legends can deal with it :D I bet that was one of the best days of that little boy's life LOL

It was also one of the best days of my lil boys life.....he has been into Metallica since 2yrs old & is now 18 :) & finally got to see his heros in Manchester...lets hope they don't leave it so long next time :-)

That is so cool! I bet that was quite the experience for him :) I daw them my first time when I was 16. There's something about that band live that is just so exciting and electric! You can feel it from the intro music to the last song they play! Hope you had fun and hope they tour over this side of the world by next year!

it scared the crap out of us, and the yellow stewards around the stage, it would appear that they were only informed about the first set that went off.

i was a bit worried about james when he got up for the opening section of one, as he was stood on the middle of the big burners, and they were still burning slightly beneath the stage.

But i felt even worse for the 4 dudes up in the lighting rig above the stage that were doing centre spotlights, that must be bloody terrifying to sit up there.

How old was the kid in the end? I was right at the front but on the other side of the stage at the time, could see Hetfield but not the young Metallic :(
