Ok...

1). For those guessing on cars with more than 6 cylinders: It has a low rev range with a dump valve (the hissing noise), which means it's small with a turbo on.

2). For those guessing on cars with 8 or more cylinders: The noise is too "light" to be from an american engine, and to low-rev to be an italian engine.

3). They've already stated that it's the Focus RS, so stop making any guesses on anything but the RS.

u all stupids... it's a 5cyl turbocharged engine!!! don't you listen to it??? So, it has a not too wide rpm range (then it can't be audi), boost sounds to be high, slip control.... it's a ford focus RS.

The Focus RS with high pressure turbo Volvo 5 pot!!! That is a 15 year old mill. I would not have guessed. I have one of those in my 1995 855. Besides the fact thta my car has an awful slush box that shifts at all the wrong moments, an absolute inability to get the giddily cheap and abundant power to the road out of corners, pushes like a 1974 Cadillac, pitches violently when I put the binders on, It's just the same as the RS.
