if you have actually seen the proper production with the actual cast of buffy the vampire slayer most of the actors say the words instead of sing because they cant sing and when you are on a deadline there is only a certain amount of vocal coaching you can do so these guys did a pretty good job
why won't you people try to do a omwf musical by yourself instead of criticizing other people's work?!? ok it's not perfect but they're not hollywood actors!
There is much to criticize here and rightly so. If you can't dance or sing, then you just don't do it - or you learn how before putting on a show. If they didn't make the audience pay then okay, more power to them, put on a craptastic show and have fun! But if this was done with the intent of a 'serious' performance (as it seems to be) and they charged people for admission - it is there to be criticized.
Besides all that, this a weak argument. Movie critics don't make movies, yet they critique!
I would if I had the chance! And I would do it ten times better, even if it was all by myself playing all the roles, the characters only being distinguishable by their slightly different hats!
Okay I've watched all of these videos of a live version of the musical. I admire the costumes, the sets and the choreography and having to improvise and replace things that couldn't be done. And I LOVE the person that plays Sweet. The acting and singing isn't all that great but this has been very enjoyable to watch and Going Through the Motions was cute to watch. I especially loved the demon who says "Ow." and the dust-throwing part! Such passion for Buffy you all have! BRAVO!
I also perform on stage. It can be hard! depends on what other actions you do around the same time, though... The more you practice, the easier it becomes, but I find it bloody hard to sing perfectly in tune, with correct breathing and pronunciation whilst moving around a lot.
Well you're probably right. It might just depend on how long you've been training to do both simultaneously. Many people learn to sing and dance, but not together.
But with time, it's actually easy to figure out how to control your breathing when you're moving. It also helps to be in shape = )

The singing was good, but when she was being thrown around was terrible. She needs to make less audible 'umphs'. Yes, Buffy makes alot of those, but she is good at it. I'm not entirely sure being out of breath is something you can learn. Also, even the best, fittest people find it hard to sing and do something physical @ the same time - hence why people like Ms Spears/Aguilera etc often mime their more dance-heavy numbers.
Obviously you have experience in singing and dancing, and i presume from your comment that you can do both perfectly. Bravo!

Amazing. I love the way it's been staged and the demons are very comical. The woman playing Buffy has a great voice and it's a great performance, never seen anything like it before. Looks like you had a lot of fun performing it. I love the fact that although you tamed it down you kept the fight scenes in because when doing it live it affects the vocal slightly but really makes a great performance.
The video looks like it has potential, but when ever I try to play it I can only ever see 11 seconds of it. This is the only video that does it so I don't think it's a problem on my end.
