We used to play this tune years ago when we heard it on Sharon's CD-so thanks for the reminder. Will play it next weekend at a cool Old Time Music gathering...whooo hoo!
spent a working holiday in israel in 1993 and had this song on tape. the locals were very amused by it and asked why no-one was singing ha ha but after 4 weeks explaning about irish music and trad they were mad about it and kept asking me to play it! they were hooked!!!oh the memories!!!!!!
I wish to invite Shannon as the missionary to convert us, the Japanese tribes,
from fake music lovers to real ones...

You're kidding? Sure, great tune but at least let us punters know it's a tune with just a "picture"! In other words, not a true video performance.

Is it just me or does this sound an awful lot like Sandy River Belle from Sharon's wonderful album Out the Gap? Much the same melodic structure.

I know that this is Celtic but to my American ears, it also sounds Cajun. I can just picture someone playing a Cajun rub-board to this :)

@alshous
Cajun...Acadian. Nova Scotia. Celtic music. No wonder you hear a bayou sound, same origins.

This is so wonderful! I just wish that it was a video of Shannon playing it live. For a while I thought there was something wrong with my computer...
