@impishmewithyou Haha, yes I agree. These lush tanks look fantastic. Although they do require a fair degree of initial cost / maintenance. High output lights, whether they're fluorescent or halogen, appropriate substrate, fertilizer, CO2 injection and of course pruning.
Having said that, I have some low maintenance aquariums with Java Fern, Water Sprite (left floating) and Anubias Nana. I don't fertilize, and I just use stock fluorescent bulbs that came with the tank.
hi i get 2 guppies for the local pet shop and the big female is pregnant but thats been 60 days and she still has not poped also i got a small guppie with her and she is pregnant shouls they be up the duff so soon any help would be appreciated only had tank for 3 month will post video soon
As long as its heavily planted, and all the filtrations are working properly you should be fine. Fish tend to appreciate lots of company as long as conditions are nxt to perfect. Your tank looks clean. All you need to do is watch out for the "tank police" lmao the ones that prowl around and complain about too much fish. When I started my aquarium, I dumped 6 fish in one time. Have never lost one.
can someone please click on my name, i have a video of my Swordtails that could be pregnant, please watch it and tell me if you think they are. thanks.
question. how often do they breed and how long do they take to become adults,or at least to star breeding? I'm want to star a tank, and use them as feeders for my cichlid tank.
it looks pretty crowded in there! but it does look clean, so who am i to nit-pick. i love red wag swordtails ^^ nice job on the tank, it's very colourfull and entertaining to watch.
did they ever breed with other fish?? I could be just a chance that they all became males. i hav seen variatus in stores with both males and females. I am curious cause i want to know if i should buy both platy and swordtail.
you will soon have way too many fish for that size tank. i would invest in a larger tank, 2 or 3 times that size, and possibly use that as a tank for the fry.
some dont want them to interbreed as swordtails-platys-mollies will interbreed but I myself couldnt care less . We have a pond with them but its impossible to enjoy them like an indoor tank as you see them only from above and its 3 feet of water

endlerslivebearers. but the endler + guppy fry cant have fry. have fun
mydogbarkstoomuch 3 years ago
This is my ideal tank. I love livebearers they are easy to take care of easy to breed and look beautiful.

i have a question about variutus platies??? Are they hybrids of platies and swordtails?? Are they fertile????
tcfuturevet 3 years ago
Yes, they are hybrids. But hybrids are only males, I haven't seen females. I cant talk about fertile, because I dont know.

yeah that's why.
fishygal94 4 years ago
basically dis is bcoz ur platies and swordtails might mate and end up giving birth to hybrid fry
aywon4 4 years ago
i thought u shouldn't house platies and swordtails together
fishygal94 4 years ago
Could you tell me why?
Dzekute 4 years ago
some dont want them to interbreed as swordtails-platys-mollies will interbreed but I myself couldnt care less . We have a pond with them but its impossible to enjoy them like an indoor tank as you see them only from above and its 3 feet of water
