ahh marie du santiago.reading 97.great day .pissed up with me mates jumping round like madheads we used to get backstage with them.nice girls kenickie rule
I remember when you were Lauren, Marie, Emma and Pete...ahhhhh...whatever happened to the likes of Delicate Vomit, Razorblade Smile, Golden Starlet and the rest of the Slampt emporium....true Broken Dollians....
Didn't Lauren bizarrely start quoting Run DMC just before this video starts? I think that was the moment that I decided I could come out as a Kenickie fan.
There was a music-mag article a couple of years ago where Bob Stanley from Saint Etienne chose his top 10 girl groups of all time. The Shangri-Las came top. Can't argue with that. And Kenickie came second! The more I see of them in these old clips, the more I'm inclined to agree.
reminds me of being a teenager. i LOVED, absolutely LOVED, this album and PVC was my favorite song. in retrospect i was probably the only american that did. memories!
My first Reading Festival - I spent the duration of this set sitting against the boarding to the left of the stage rather drunk. I only remember hearing the 'Yeah yeah yeah' song :-/

Blimey !
This has always been one of my favourites Kenickie songs...
But I also always thought that Lauren was also singing some bits alone... especially the not shouting part !
Brilliant !

That bird with the flower is Janine. She killed Barry from Eastenders.
Rolled him down a hill, she did!
Smart.

Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs signed Kenickie to their Emidisc imprint...so they must have liked them innit?
