This is Connard Fowkes(sp)...he played Don Hughes on "As the World Turns". I never realized how strange these "white tornado" commercials were. Why would someone mention the color of a tornado??
Am I the only one who noticed that--after seeing this commercial a couple of times--this couple have both a 40" double-oven gas range AND a wall oven in this kitchen?
The "White Tornado" commercials gave Mr. Clean some serious competition for several years--in fact P & G introduced its own ammonia cleaner, Top Job, in 1963 to counteract Ajax "with Ammonial" (notice that the dude is starting to use a bottle of something that looks suspiciously like Top Job to clean the floor when the White Tornado bursts into the kitchen)....
Actually, this Ajax Cleaner commercial was originally seen in 1965-'66....and was one of the famous "Ajax cleans like a white tornado!" spots, along with Ajax detergent's "White Knight" and Ajax's "Gets you out of the kitchen FAST!" ads.

"Smart girl." LOL. He called his wife a "smart girl." That would get you sent to a feminist re-education camp today.

White Tornado?! What kind of scientific study backs that up? Ajax comes from dog pee , I should know!

Man, he really took a huge whiff of that Ajax. He should be on the floor after that. Or at least really high.

Yeah, sniffing Ajax is the same as sniffing glue

First aid kits usually contain "aromatic spirits of ammonia" to help those recovering from fainting spells...
