Apples are magnetic. Wow. That explains all those fruit flies. The apple must get more magnetic as it ripens. Very cool to learn new things. I heard that if you take the stem out, the apple loses it magnetic ability. ?

@1149037danny thanks for not being stupid danny. Yeah that magnet thing really works but there must be a string for the apple. Its not made of metal. And yeah, he could have put some metel inside it but like danny sais its spinning back in forth in a way that shows that it is off balance as if hanging from the ceiling.

@PirateKid95 No string necessary. Apples can be cut. Core apple from the back side, insert magnet. The wiggle you see, if you look closely, does not center around the top of the apple, as if hung by a string.  It's lower, closer to the center of the apple where the magnet resides.

As for levitating people suggested above...you don't want to know where they'd stick the magnet for -that- trick! >.<;

Went through the patent to see how it works. There are 2 permanent magnets inside the base, with two electromagnets (that is, magnets whose poles North and South can be switched and controlled by changing the electric current) to help maintain the apple's equilibrium point, so it doesn't flip upside down and fall out.

The apple itself does have a magnet inside of it, or else you posted the wrong patent for the wrong device ^^

yes, you do need to put a strong cylinder/disc magnet into the apple.
