Why cant they make funny shit like this anymore? I have never laughed so hard in my life at a movie or at a TV show than from when watching Naked Gun and this show.

They were trying to encourage people to buy a new (and expensive) colour set by showing people just how many shows were available in colour. This show was brilliant. I always loved the fact that you had to really pay attention to the dialogue and the surroundings to get the best laugh...LOL......Mr. Nielsen you made me laugh out loud many many times......Thank you!

I think it's funny that the network wanted them to use a laugh track. This is one of the first comedies without one. Imagine how badly a laugh track would have ruined the brilliance of this show.

i always loved this show but never till now saw it as parody of Law & Order and other police programs pandering to Evangelical anti-Feminist Sarah Palin rich suburban PTA soccer moms irrationally paranoid of fictionally high numbers of "predators" getting their daughters, stopping Sex Ed being taught to their daughters (love Nancy Grace) & pandering to Crime obsessed Conservative "Libertarian" rednecks.
another show like this is seriously needed to parody Law & Order unnatural dominance over TV.

and he was a Leftist too who parodied the boring paranoid seriousness of Conservatives in Police Squad and Naked Gun comedy cop movies.

Nielsen didn't "parody" any political view. He was an actor reading a script, written by the Zuckers who, for your information, happen to be RIGHTWING (see: "An American Carol") As a matter of fact, Leslie Nielsen played himself in this movie parodying sad anti-American assholes.
Hope you don't spit on his grave now, for not being as stupid an obsessed with politics as you are.

@tridentmovies The dipshit who directed 'American Carol' acknowledged that Nielsen didn't share his poisonous political views, a testament to Nielsen's decency (and a testament to his lack of judgment script-wise, but who cares? He'd already done plenty of funny stuff, a few duds at the end are neither here nor there).

I think it's funny that the network wanted them to use a laugh track. This is one of the first comedies without one. Imagine how badly a laugh track would have ruined the brilliance of this show.
