  • in color :D HAAHHAHAHA

  • Why cant they make funny shit like this anymore? I have never laughed so hard in my life at a movie or at a TV show than from when watching Naked Gun and this show.

  • Watch in 360p to get rid of the annoying background noise thats like schhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, aight?

  • Holy shit, The Naked Gun was originally a tv show?

  • The opening credits for this show are funnier than the entirety of any sitcom nowadays.

  • Coming from a 19 year old, old comedy absolutely shits all over anything from today. Anything with Leslie Neilsen is guarenteed to be brilliant, he was an absolute legend!

  • @superfrank10 Sam announcer as the streets of san fransisco 00:05 same intro as NYPD and M SQUAD 00:16

  • omg... how much i love Movies and shows with Neilsen... i love that kind of Comedy... you can find something stupid and funny in literally every freakin scene xD there is not a single piece of dialogue without a joke :D just awesome!

  • Cigarette? Yes, I know

  • Wow. For some reason I have never watched these, despite being a massive Naked Gun fan. I missed a lot of the gags at first because it's so subtle and shot in such a deadpan manner; the safety bars around the bank teller that don't extend to the secretary desk, the incredibly long body stretcher. Comedy back in the day really catered to intelligent people who paid attention. This is genious

  • @MrDirkin 00:53 PRODUCED BY JEWISH CON ARTISTS 00:57

  • @MrDirkin yes , man. I just discovered this today. its a pity its not synchro to spanish or with subtitles...damm I thought ¨police squad¨ was a genuine police tv show from 70´s , not the Naked Gun movies´s prequel! And yes: this is from the time when you expected people who watch the show was intelligent. That time is clearly gone...

  • too much hilarity!!!!!!!!

  • This episode contains the greatest line in comedy history:

[Drebin to the widow Twice, after he tells her that her husband has been shot dead in the bank robbery]: "I'm sorry, we would have been here sooner but your husband wasn't dead then..."

  • It's a bad idea to start "Drebin parking," right?

  • Someone needs to construct a flow chart that follows Sally's description!

  • lol. This is classic. I've never seen the original series that came before the movie series. Thanx.

  • ; X^ D,

  • Classic! Real comedy shtick! Zucker Bros.

    Frank: "...Cigarette?"

    Teller: "Yes, I know."

  • lmao then it was popular to have colour tv now its HD...

  • @StormFlank6 They were making a joke... color tv has been around since the 50's

  • @pierreo33 lol serious tnx for that i didnt know,im from south africa and according to him we got colour tv in the late 70's and early 80's,but we would have had it earlier if it wasnt for apartheid

  • @StormFlank6 yeah and im also sure you would be flying to the moon aswell if it wasnt for apartheid

  • @StormFlank6 Part of the gag too is that old TV shows used to say they were 'In Color' when the majority of people had B&W televisions and most shows were B&W anyway. They were trying to encourage people to buy a new (and expensive) colour set by showing people just how many shows were available in colour. In the late 50s/early 60s this was a pretty common trick (even The Avengers in the mid 60s said it in the credits) but it was long gone 1980, as B&W tvs were in the minority. "Meta-comedy."

  • I think my favourite "in" joke is the fact that the caption for "tonight's episode" never matches the voice over. A few years ago, they used to show Columbo on UK Gold and I think we had a fellow Police Squad fan doing the programme info on the on-screen-guide - the advertised episode never matched the actual episode being shown. I'd like to think this was deliberate - can anyone verify?

  • "There had been a recent wave of gorgeous fashion models found naked & unconcious on the Westside, unfortunately I was assigned credit union hold-ups" LOL

  • Dose anyone realise they kill off the special guests? LOOOL

  • "We're sorry to bother you at a time like this Mrs. Twice. We would've come earlier but your husband wasn't dead then." Classic. There are two kinds of people in the world - those with comedic taste and those without, or to put it another way, "Police Squad" fans and "Police Academy" fans.

  • "Gorgeous Fashion Models found naked and unconscience in Laundromats on the West Side.... I was across town doing my laundry when I heard the call..." CLASSIC and GENiUS.

    '

  • "How about a big monster came and took him to daddy heaven?"

    RIP, Leslie.

    ~

  • hilarious

  • Darn todays comedy is shit.....nothing is going to beat Naked Gun....thats for sure.

Rest in Peace Leslie Nielsen.....From Greece.

  • @DJMikaelito, airplane! (imo) did. shame it wasn't a serie though, would've been awesome.

  • @somberlight

yeah good movie also....todays movies lack what the old movies have....stupid but so funny.....todays movies are stupid and stupid and not funny....

  • @DJMikaelito, oh i hear you. what happened to old style "dumb fun" ? not everything has to be wise, edgy or smart humour, sometimes you just need to turn off your brains and giggle like hyena.

  • @somberlight

lol agree....but comedy films are the best way to relax.

  • I love that interview at 5:13 from start to finish.

  • Phil Dinn - he's the night watchman. Why is there a phone booth inside the credit union?

  • A Substantial Gift?

  • "Ran him out of town like a common pygmy." ha ha ha

  • Tell her he was killed by Left Wing insurgins from Paraguay.

  • I love the scene of The Collesium in the background LOL.

  • @SlugMcSlug

And then the Leaning Tower of Pisa, fucking comedy gold.

  • turn your head and cough? how is that ID?

  • i like how the gun clicks and then fires

  • 00:45 Never fails to make me laugh every time! And I've watched the complete series a lot...a lot.

  • No wait a minute, how about a big monster came and took him to daddy heaven.

  • he hits one garbag can. In eps 2 and three he hits 2 and 3 respectively, then they ended that gag. ABC was silly to cancel this show, it had fans. But back then a "cult" show could not make it.

  • little Italy XD

    rofl

  • Priceless.

    "Don't call me Shirley."

  • Classic comedy doesn't need canned laughter

  • @MrMotstoor specially if the idea is to look serious

  • Thanks for the upload! Awesome to see this again! muah!

  • 13 people did not know it was a cigarette

  • Next week we'll look into some interesting experiments with discarded swimwear

    lol

  • One of my favorite series, ingenious!!!

  • A big monster came and took him to daddy heaven....Left wing insurgents from Paraguay....No Uraguay

  • I love Neilsen's "Well..." after certain dialogue.

  • @masere

    - Cigarette?

    - Yes, I know

    :D

  • Funnier than the Naked Gun movies together.

  • 13 people have no concept of what comedic genius is

  • Funnier than the Naked Gun movies together :D

  • Funnier then the Naked Gun movies together :D

  • I never understood the joke of Abraham Lincoln.

  • IN COLOR!!!

  • "How about a big monster came and took him to Daddy heaven... nah" Hilarious.

  • .....and Rex Hamilton as Abraham Lincoln!

  • Wait, Sally said Jim Please-- I thought his name was Jim Fell!

  • Comment removed

  • @dadahdee Jim Johnson, Fell is ill

  • Poor Sally driven to murder, thieving , larceny, mayhem, fraud, dishonesty ,robbery, all because she was desperate to make plans for her next dental appointment . That would drive me and any one else to that kind of desperation for sure. HAHAHA love this show .

  • Drebin: "cigarette?"

    Wife: "yes, i know"

  • "little Italy " ....lol

  • The entire names confusion scene... marvellous!!! :)

  • The interview is the cleverest comedy scene I have ever watched

  • The interview is the cleverest comedy I have ever seen

  • R.I.P. Leslie Nielson

  • Cigarette?

    Yes, I know.

  • Sergeant Frank Drebin, Detective Lieutenant Police Squad is the best character in all history of COmedy

  • I ran him out of town like a common pygmy! This show was amazing for it's time. I remember in a article the producer said it was canceled for, "requiring too much viewer attention"..wow

  • @discfunk No laugh track (which I think is good), not obvious humour - it's a shame this show only lasted for a single 6-episode season. At least we got the Naked Gun films out of it. :)

  • @SPeacock The creators said themselves that it was probably a good thing that the series got cancelled when it did, because they didn't think they could have kept it up.

  • @joesomenumbers Indeed. One series and three films - endless laughs :)

  • @discfunk lol his gay confessions are great---

  • Why why WHY did this show have to be so short lived?? Could you imagine having 70 of these shows Leslie Neilson's legacy could have left behind??

  • @dollors1

Yeah a few seasons of this show would've been great. But is it possible that Abrams and the Zucker brothers could have kept it up over that timeframe, I don't know.

  • @dollors1

    One word! RATINGS

  • Lorne Greene's appearance as a stabbed man is overshadowed by Nielsen's death. Why no love for Pa Cartwright?

  • "Coffee."

    "Yes, I know."

    "Well."

  • imao. she takes the gun out of the desk, but then we find out she has another gun in her purse!!!! XD

  • lmao. so she whips the gun for prints then touches it again.

    lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • This series was cancelled quickly because in America,

"SLAVES" CAN NO LONGER MAKE FUN OF POLICE.

They have been turned into "little gods" like thug "Jack Bauer".

This show was outrageously funny, but no way could

people be allowed to LAUGH AT THE COPS, no matter

how damned pitifully ridiculous & impotent they may be.

  • @4freespeech Your rubber bands are stretched too tight. You do realize that the 1st Naked Gun movie, that was based on Police Squad, came out around 6 years after Police Squad was canceled? Or did the "Powers that be" screw up on that? They had six years to kill off Abrams and the Zucker brothers. They could've made it look like they threw themselves on a grenade to save the battalion.

Oh and you got something on the side of your mouth

    No the other side

  • @tkin1973 So you're still one of the "sheep" who are "asleep". Fine. Enjoy. I wish I never found

out about what's going down. BTW, ever hear of "infowars dot com"? Dare ya to have a look!

So what if Naked Gun came out 6 years later? They cancelled the weekly series.

Show me 1 movie or TV show made since the 9-11 Coup that ridicules gov't and police.

Its all "Jack Bauer" B.S. now. But that makes your head hurt, right? Go back to sleep.

  • @4freespeech I think Alex Jones is a genius, just not in a way that's complementary to you fanboys. All because a tv show gets cancelled doesn mean "they" did it. HWood is full of incompetent fools who only got their job because they could kiss some good ass.

Hmm where do you want to start...how about The Shield or The Wire or Reno 911... how about all the anti Iraq war movies released by HWood...Michael Moore....do I really have to go on?

  • @4freespeech Hot Fuzz?

  • LOL starting at 2:38 to 2:53

  • "We would have come earlier, but your husband wasnt dead then."

    Classic stuff.

  • LOL, this is so funny I already ordered the season dvd before even finishing the first part altrough I've never heard of the program before....

  • Wow a 40 feet long corps XD i love this show

  • Pure genious. Comedy that people have to think about, not wait for a laugh track.

  • No, wait a minute..........................how bout a big monster came and took him to Daddy heaven. (women continues to cry). Nah.

  • @landgsmith Sledgehammer was halarious.

  • @clipwatcher77 T.J. Hooker was pretty funny, but of course that was unintentional.

  • @smiffy1071 wrong actor too. the captain in Airplane was Peter Graves. Leslie nielson was the doctor.

  • @kdraper2007 I just had to search back a real long way to read what I wrote 2 years ago! You do realise I actually did know it was the wrong EVERYTHING!!!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

  • Gorgeous fashion models found naked and unconscious at laundromats...I was across town doing my laundry. lol

    Freaking genius stuff.

  • comedy genius

    shirley he will be missed

RIP heaven just became a lot more amusing

  • just looking at him is funny, then when he speaks its so funny. You just cant take anything he does seriosuly, he was naturally gifted with the ability to make anything funny. When you combine that with good materail like police squad, naked gun etc its just pure genius

  • R.I.P. LESLIE NIELSEN FROM CLAIRE WALSH, CORK - IRELAND.

  • i never thought of looking on youtube for this its fantastic and so was leslie nielson ,comedy will never be the same

  • I would have seen this video earlier, but Leslie Nielsen wasn't dead then.

  • NIELSEN RIP POLICE SQUAD THE BEST!

He's gone to Daddy heaven now.... where he'll be telling that bomber to take off

  • One of my all time favorite shows a shame it was cancelled after only 6 episodes. Sad news about the loss of Leslie Nielsen, comedy genius.

  • Thank you very much

  • Mr. Nielsen you make great comedy!

  • R.I.P

  • "A cigarette? Yes, I know" xDDD

  • Leslie Nielsen - Rest in Peace. You made me laugh my face sideways for many many years.

  • do you know how its like to be married to a wonderfull man for 14 years - i did live with a man for a couple a years rumors people didnt understand ran him outta town like a common pigmy

  • 2:37 - 2:53 lmfao. Leslie RIP :(

  • Like a migit in a urinal, I knew I had to be on my toes!

    RIP Leisley!

  • Farewell, Mr. Nielson. You brought great entertainment into my life for many years. You will be missed.

  • i always loved this show but never till now saw it as parody of Law & Order and other police programs pandering to Evangelical anti-Feminist Sarah Palin rich suburban PTA soccer moms irrationally paranoid of fictionally high numbers of "predators" getting their daughters, stopping Sex Ed being taught to their daughters (love Nancy Grace) & pandering to Crime obsessed Conservative "Libertarian" rednecks.

another show like this is seriously needed to parody Law & Order unnatural dominance over TV.

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq

Thanks for boring us with your political views in a "Police Squad" topic dedicated to the tragic passing of Leslie Nielsen.

  • @tridentmovies

Leslie Nielsen would have preferred what i said, to the repetitive obituaries because he has a sense of humor.

and he was a Leftist too who parodied the boring paranoid seriousness of Conservatives in Police Squad and Naked Gun comedy cop movies.

he requested that his tombstone should read "Let Her Rip . . ." (with farting sounds after that) LOL

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq

Stop being so retarded, and get a brain enema to wash all that shit out of your head.

Nielsen didn't "parody" any political view. He was an actor reading a script, written by the Zuckers who, for your information, happen to be RIGHTWING (see: "An American Carol") As a matter of fact, Leslie Nielsen played himself in this movie parodying sad anti-American assholes.

Hope you don't spit on his grave now, for not being as stupid an obsessed with politics as you are.

  • @tridentmovies The dipshit who directed 'American Carol' acknowledged that Nielsen didn't share his poisonous political views, a testament to Nielsen's decency (and a testament to his lack of judgment script-wise, but who cares? He'd already done plenty of funny stuff, a few duds at the end are neither here nor there).

  • Wahhh... Rest in Peace Leslie Neilsen...from a fellow Canuk

  • RIP Mr. Nielsen and thank you for all the laughs.

  • A big monster came and took him to daddy heaven.

  • RIP Leslie Nelson

  • rip

  • yeah well imagine how badly shit would ruin a glass of orange juice....

  • You made me laugh the hardest. Every time. R.I.P. Leslie.

  • This show was brilliant. I always loved the fact that you had to really pay attention to the dialogue and the surroundings to get the best laugh...LOL......Mr. Nielsen you made me laugh out loud many many times......Thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah Abe, fight back!! RIP Leslie

  • rip

  • 11 people need to be run out of town like a common pygmy.

  • LEGEND

  • Howey couldn't have done it. He hasn't been in for weeks.....! Lol! Bye Leslie!.x

  • Goodbye to a legend!

  • RIP Leslie Nielsen, you will always be an absolute legend.

I think it's funny that the network wanted them to use a laugh track. This is one of the first comedies without one. Imagine how badly a laugh track would have ruined the brilliance of this show.

  • Beautiful use of Abbott & Costello's "Who's on third base" skit at 5:30!!

    R.I.P. Les!

  • DID HE EVER EAT CHOP SUEY?

  • RIP Leslie. A serious comic!

  • Alan North is amazing impersonating Frank Ochoa, from Death Wish I and II.

And Leslie, well, i don't need to say nothing. His acting is pure gold comedy.

    R.I.P Nielsen

  • today.we mourn the loss of actor Leslie Nielson..at age 84
