Were in the Bible does it say Jesus decended into hell? and for 3 days no less. Jesus told the repentant sinner on the cross "today you will sit with me in Heaven". He also had no reason to go to hell & continue suffering for our sin. Jesus final words on the cross were "It is finished" decending into hell didn't happen. Put your faith in Jesus not the teachings of the church. Nothing but love for you.

@ArboriusOwns It all depends on how you read the scripture, that is whats your translation. Cause in the original text, there were no comas, it is possible that Jesus said: "I tell you the truth TODAY, you will be with me in paradise." The passages I send you clearly indicate that Jesus WAS in Hell and it clearly says what He was doing there. The reason He went to Hell is to defeat death - and because He was God Himself, the gates of hell could not keep him. :) God Bless You

@YwanBeloch Jesus did'nt go to hell because hell is a future realm, only put into effect after the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). The original version of the apostles creed didn't say Jesus went to hell. That was added in 400ad. Matthew 12:40 refers to the 3 days Jesus was in the tomb. Peter 3:19–20 1 Peter 4:6 simply refers the “place of the dead” or the “place of departed souls/spirits” Acts 2:27 Acts 2:31 Of course Jesus wasnt abandoned to the grave he rose from the dead

It was translated to hell in parts of the Bible but means the grave or place of the dead this is the place described in the story of Lazarus were the righteous in paradise were separated from the unrighteous by a wide chasm. This wasn't hell this was sheol & this is were Jesus went & led a crowd of captives to Heaven. Ephesians 4:8-10

I am muslim too. And I go to a Christian school where i am forced to take bible class. I get into so many arguements with my friends because they think that i am "damned" because I don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. the bible says Jesus is both man and God. God can not be contained on earth he is so amazing and powerful that earth can not handle his physical prescence. And the "truth" can be updated.

Other version says "into the grave". This statement is very important for Christians because if Jesus did not descended into the grave then there will be no resurrection of the dead. And since Christ who really died... and really resurrected and is very much alive, He will come again to claim those people who believe that Christ was born, dead and resurrected and bring them all to the place He promised.
