  • the guy who dislike this is probably a hello kitty fan.

  • Oh my Gosh!!

i cant believe that dude do also Aizen voice.. xDD

  • watch italian versione, too! it's the best

  • WHY? wolfood? Why?

  • I have to completely agree with psychedelicrose666 here. Also personally I think the biggest turning point here is Wolfwood's last line in the japanese version: "I can't stand it". I have no idea what's the real psychology behind that one last sentence but it sure makes me tear up every time he says that

  • *tear*

This is one of the saddest moments ever, for sure. It's...beautiful. And now the song, Rakuen, always gets to me.

  • "Ah that felt good!"

  • they had a family there... too bad..

  • @vlad2seed those are the kids from Wolfwoods orphanage

  • No one is hating. Just don't act as if dubs are awesome just because you can't read and watch what's on the screen at the same time.

  • The problem is english voice actors try too hard to make the anime characters seem cartoonish when they really shouldn't(naruto, bleach, other shows with young main characters). Also, they try way too hard to sound emotional and it comes off as silly most of the time. If you don't know how to read subtitles and watch the video at the same time then you need work on your concentration skills.

  • Seemed that his former mentor were controlled by Legato at that point...seemen he wasnt in controll of his body

  • HE WAS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THE SERIES

  • @Royplayer89 I agree with your view on the situation. You hold a decent argument to the Dub and I find Dubs are a little more accessible to the crowd that does not have a background in Japanese.

@psychedelicrose666 I also agree with your interpretation. His final words held much higher presence and power than the English script, but because some anime viewers do not have as strong a hold on the Japanese language doesn't justify deeming the Dubs as inferior.

Both of you had valid points.

  • This is one of the few deaths that if you knew the character no matter who you were your eyes would water or you ould cry.

  • I like how he thought his death was bullshit, lol. He didn't want to go yet. Not the typical content hero death, you know?

  • this is the saddest scene in an anime ever... and milly's crying after that made it so much sadder.. T__T wolfwood R.I.P

  • If he'd just blasted the bastard he would have lived.

  • He could not kill his master, the man that taught him everything, It was sad that it became his end....

  • Anyone know the name of the song that plays while he dies in the church?

  • nm, it's Rakuen, or Paradise, or Rakuen Paradise.

    Manly tears ;-;

  • I cant hear that song without getting sad. Wolfwood is awesome.

  • is better the italian traduction

  • It was never really his death that got me because I'd had it spoiled for me before I saw the series, it was Milly's crying that got me.

  • as everyone has already said, this gets really deep.

wolfwood's death is one of my top 5 unforgettable moments while watching anime. i thought it was mostly sillyness too. but at the moment i realized what was happening i was blown away more than anything.

he'll always be one of my favorite characters from any anime/manga.

  • I first thought that this anime was and action- comedy but when i watched further on i started to feel sad and i had an serious feeling about this amazing anime... This anime becomes psychological in the end so it is a good twist because you first thought that it was an action packed comedy! :D

  • tacosamurai, the anime is beautiful and moving in its own way. If you think badassness and gore are the only ingredients that make a great show, then you're wrong. The anime had its downs, but it was great and even exceeded the manga in its own regards. The manga was more scince fiction heavy and had high octane action. I prefer the anime because of its more powerful potrayl of the characters, and its themes on life. I don't wanna be cold, but I think you well deserved all those thumbs downs. :)

  • Normally people yells at anime adaptation just because they takke away important stuff, or change totally the whole thing. But on this case, they did this dead even more dramatic and deep than the one at the manga.

  • Man that's sad, one of the most emotional deaths I've seen.... *sniffs*

  • Love the irony of his death. Dies just when he abandons his martialism.

And I like how he didn't go out content with everything. Unlike the generic glorified tragic hero death.

  • Very moving and anguishing death... But i wonder Why didn't Vash run out to help Wolfwood upon seeing the trail of blood? Knowing Vash's nature to preserve life, you'd think he'd try to save wolfwood...

Anyway, I suppose Vash's guilt came not from causing owlfwood's death, but being the one who made wolfwood question his actions, thus dying unhappy.

    Wonderful anime, well crafted story.

  • He was my favorite character, next being Vash.... oh whyyyy?! Thank you for the video!

  • sho hayami is awesome,he can perform the role of the badass priest wolfwood,n the manipulative best villain of all times,Sosuke Aizen n both rock:D

  • Dont forget Muraki or Frank Archer

    Sho Hayami is Awesome

  • whoa, saiyuki fan there:D,i dnt know this roles cuz i learned Bout Hayami from his role as aizen,n so i m a relatively new fan, talking bout saiyuki tho toshihiko Seki s awesome too:)

  • Dont tell me you love toshihiko seki as well. Thats Awesome he is my absolute Favorite Seiyuu ever

  • I think i read somewhere that milly and wolfwood slept together shortly before his death. would anyone care to confirm this?

  • Yes. Right in this episode. Or the previous one. No, this.

  • In regards to the jap eng dubs its a two way street. some animes sound better in english than in japenese vice versa. then there are rare occasions when both sound great Trigun being one of those gems. dragonball z sounds better in u.s. to me based on goku japanese voice. and Im not even going into one piece cause Im pissed that when we finally get good actors in the us who were getting into their parts they take it off the air maybe for good maybe not

  • Does ANYONE know the ending song? please.. if someone were to figure it out, message me please. its such a moving song, and because of it, i was hoping to learn it..

  • it's called rakuen (paradise)

  • =D ty!

looking for ages for that =O

hope i can find it =P

  • I think Wolfwoods dead was kinda more sad in manga..

  • Why'd the trainer fire? was it because it was in his instinct, or was it Legato in the shadows?

  • Knives can control people like Legato? Or is it something different?

  • it was legato. cause he attacked him, not knives

  • yeah legato took control at the end there - not knives.

loved how wolfwood finnally got the apple :)

  • I hate that Wolfwood had to die, but this is truly a great scene.

  • This makes me cry like a baby every time I see it.

  • You're all crazy. What really struck me in this version was when he dropped his "I don't want to die yet" lines. The Japanese actor is a much better job throughout, giving it a stronger tone than the American actor did, clearly defined when Wolfwood fantasized about Eden. His last lines in this Japanese script also carry more weight and meaning.

  • Two words: ARTISTIC LISCENSE.

Stop hating on the English actors. They try to portray the characters how they see them. Besides, Japanese and English are two TOTALLY different languages with all sorts of different tones. I personally thought that both were well done.

  • Artistic lisense is all well and good - but it can sometimes butcher the meaning and feeling to a story...look at how much it screwed up NGE when it crossed borders~

I wont deny "both" are still good - but I think most would prefer the creators vision - and not some random voice actor's.

  • That argument is void in this case, where Trigun was a manga adapted into an anime, and thus the creator wasn't in control of things like this. Hell, the author didn't even write the scripts for it. Don't be a weaboo, just because Japan's voice acting sounds better to your English-as-a-first-language ear, doesn't make it true. It's a fact that some Japanese voice acting sucks, just like it's a fact that some American acting sucks. Because it's the "original" doesn't make it immune.

  • " to your English-as-a-first-language ear" Heh, abit presumptious arent we? They key differences are emotional level and tone of voice - where english dubbing generally has an exaggeration to the tone of voice of each character, japanese voice actors have a more natural and sincere tone to them, becoming more in sync with the scene - and less "over the top"

  • Personally, I like the way the japanese language sounds... but the english actors were just better in this one. Great anime non-the-less!

  • I dunno I think it's that one last scream "I did not want to die this way!" that just sticks with me. Regardless it seems to have taken a much different approach now that I've seen them both.

  • Watched it last night in english, it was so much better in english.

  • Thanks for uploading the sub, I personally loved this part of the anime. Probably one of the saddest parts I've ever seen.
