The bottom line is that the 2012 election will come down to the choice of destroying Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, or revamping them, expiring the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest, or continuing them, probably forever. The Greatest Generation created a debt at 122% of GDP. The added value you tout was created by high wage jobs held by union workers. As you have managed to destroy the unions the debt has grown and the economy has declined.

Note that the debt burden, debt to GDP ratio went from 122% at the end of WWII to 33% when Reagan took office. Obama inherited a near 90% Ratio 100% from Reagan/Bush I/Bush II. 100% of the deb to GDP growth after WWII was under three anti-tax presidents. 100%.

The debt to GDP ratio, which is the true debt burden, went from 122% to 33% 1946 to 1981. 100% of the growth in the debt burden after WWII was under three anti-tax republican presidents, Reagan/Bush I/Bush II. You can verify that for yourself, get the federal budget history files from the GPO or the office of management and budget and look for yourself. Think for yourself for a change.
