Why end this excellent series in Season 5? It still has momentum. Unlike others non-worthy shows on AMC? Find the money Sony Corp. to keep it on air, how about reallocating the reality TV product line, which are horrid, since none of them you produce currently have higher ratings than Breaking Bad. The fans need to rally together and promote this excellent series. 5 seasons is not long enough, maybe six or even seven seasons is how this show should exit.
I thought Gus was completely boss, total bad ass, completely unphased by everything... it sucks that he died, but it was coming, and damn, it was a good way to play it out.
@MrSplatterPlatter Yeah, i heard that too :(...that sucks right! I mean the finale of the second mini season will be in 2014!!!! what the hell! its too long :(
@sevrajtube that scene was not about being realistic, it was symbolic. his final stand, fixing his tie, his face torn off, they all mean something, just analyze it. plus it was another trick for us to think that he survived yet again, but then his mutilated face reveals that walt won.
@sevrajtube I think I've recalled stories of soldiers living with parts of their bodies gone not realizing it from the shock after an explosion, so maybe it isn't that unrealistic. Plus, it is a nice shocker.
Remember those 'connections' briefly spoken of in that flashback scene of a younger Gus? The reason why he wasn't killed? I'd guess that they'll replace the cartel and try to kill Walt as revenge.
@mrwho995 no, the connections they were talking about were obviously to do with Gus working for Pinochet's regime. A regime long gone, and a regime that Gus probably played the role of some sort of bureaucrat, who when the regime fell got out with some stolen funds and created a new identity elsewhere. Besides, the world sees Gus' death as being at the hands of the cartels, Walt's involvement is nowhere to be seen.
@Raskolnikov32 i think the next season will see Walt replacing Gus and creating his own little empire, the creators of the show always wanted to 'take mr.chips and turn him into scarface' after all. Walt will die at the hands of Jessie, that will happen, all the bad that people do in this show they pay for in the end, and Walt still has to pay for watching Jessie's girlfriend die and poisoning the kid too.
I'm betting Jesse will realize that if Gus didn't poison Brock then someone else must have lifted the ricin from him. Can't wait for the fifth season!
Right at the beggining of the video, Aaron (Jess) says something he said in the first episode of this Inside BB, but about another situation in the plot... just shows what the power of editing is
you know what im not a big fan of any of these flashbacks the only one i ever liked was when he was in a class room with long hair and a woman trying to add up all the parts to a human body if anyone remembers that while in the present scooping up chunks of body blood and crap of the floor that was a good flash back also anything with gus in it he was my fav member anyone else think the same.
next season, first episode has to start with jesse killing someone from walt family, then start flashing back, it just has to start with a BOOM incident in our faces
Amazing show and series, I'm disappointed that as an english guy I have to import all of favorite shows from the U.S because of how bad our TV actually is over here, we wouldn't have a clue how to make something nearly as good as this if we had to, thanks Vince Gilligan, you are such an inspiration for me as a writer.
I'm surprised they didn't mention anything about how brilliantly it was foreshadowed in the previous episode that Walt was going to poison Brock. When he's sitting by the pool, spinning his gun on the table, it stops pointing at him twice. The third time he spins it, it stops pointing at what we interpret as nothing, or perhaps just a general direction. Really, it stopped at the lily of the valley plant that Walt has, which is what gave him this genius plan. By far the most phenomenal writing!
Jesse will be the only one with a happy end. Walter dies at the end ... Mike will handle that because he of "half measures" . Skyler will tell Hank everything about Walt.
@TheMatt649 its obvious that jesse will have his peace at the end .. he had too much trouble (with himself and others) so he deserved it.
Walts motivation was the near death he faced at the beginning. But after all he gets healthier because he lets everything out and live life, so death will be his only exit out of that. Maybe he gets killed but i also can image that he commits suicide cause he know that hes allready an evil person. And i dont know the story i only suggest
@TheGhost204 Why would Gilligan want to do that? The whole basis of the show is being able to identify with Walter White and, to a lesser extent, with Jesse, and to appreciate that, no matter how far their relationship may descend at times, there's always a bond there. Having Jesse kill Walter out of anger would pull the rug out from under the audience. Some TV creators are willing to do that, but I don't think that's Gilligan's style.
@HeyMyNameIsJared He did it because he was afraid of Jesse taking sides with Gus and he figured the only way to get him back on his side again was to hurt one of the only people Jesse cares about and make it look like Gus did it. So he poisoned Brock and said to Jesse "who is it you know that would kill children? Gus!" The thing is if he hadn't done that then Jesse wouldn't of sided with him and Walt would of never found out about Gus' visits with Tio, so in turn would of never killed Gus
@trousersnake7 Well said trousersnake7, just finish watching the last episode and what a great twist with the flower's scene. Jesse was completely manipulated by Gus throughout the season and wow!!! The way Walt turn it around to have him back is brilliant but sad that it has to come to this.
@eggfooyung2go Agreed, that bothered me quite a bit. I mean when he first walks in the room, he SEES the back of Tio's wheelchair just before the guy turns him around; he didn't notice a big metal pipe bomb taped to the wheelchair??? WTF
@SteveJawbs I kind of agree with you. Gus was watching the DEA, watching Walt, watching Jesse, watching the Laundry, watching the Chicken place, watching the warehouse but he wasn't watching the care home even though he knew Walt wanted to kill him. I think Gus was too smart to even go near the place but whatever. It needed to be cleared up somehow, I guess. Walt would have been better off buying a sniper rifle IMO, he had a clear shot in the car park.
@eggfooyung2go Would you really expect a bomb to be in a place like that? Besides, Gus didn't know that Walt found out about his relationship with Hector as well.
A possibility for season 5 is that Walt will fall into the same act of hubris that he fell into when he told Hank that Heisenberg might still be out there, but to an even higher degree because of how he managed to kill the "invincible" Gus in season 4. This could lead him to reveal to Jesse - out of anger or pride perhaps - that he left Jane to die and poisoned Brock. Then maybe season 5 will end up being Jesse vs. Walt "the monster".
I hope that Mike will come back and end up joining up with Walt and Jesse. Also, I think that another family tragedy wil occur. Such as Walter Jr. dying from an overdose of Walters meth. Something like that would be incredible.
@LoveSarcoptesFilms God, that'd be awful sad, but you never know what they come up with! Even if it sounds awful, it's done very amazingly well within the show.
This episode... It was the first Breaking Bad left me with a feeling of disapointment. The whole poison story, it just didn`t make a lot of sense. And the part with Gus walking out the door, that was overdone in my opinion. Broke my suspension of disbelieve.
This is an amazing show. There are so many great scenes that I keep watching over and over.
The acting and the writing is way above everything else on tv. Gus is one of the greatest characters ever, hope to see him again, even if it is only in flashbacks. I'm hoping that he had a twin brother.
In Episode 11.. walt goes to look for Jesse.. and from the door he sees brock sitting.. walt is then escorted to the dessert to meet Gus who threatens to kill all his family..
in Episode 12 while spinning his gun and it pointing to the lily flower he gets the idea.. that morning jesse is at work and then he goes to see saul to take his money, during that huge time frame walt poisons broke.. how? i think they will show on season 5..
so epic was this show, and AMC kind of leave things around season 4 [Mad Men] so was not hoping that Breaking Bad will continue, and I am still not going to hope, Just Discovered The Walking DEAD!
I like Jesse because he's young and his friends are young and it's a pretty accurate for certain people in this generation, kinda like me exept I'm a horrible dealer lol I hate the way Walt fucks with him so much but Jesse doesn't see the full scope of what happened with Brock because of his emotions
I don't think Walt actually poisoned Brock, the series just fucks with the mind of the viewer yet again, just like when they have Gus walkin out fixin his tie before the camera swings over and shows his face off - its those brilliant moments that make BB what it is imo, you never know until it breaks bad, neither do the characters, theyre almost always confused, overreacting, panicked or plain uninformed and never grasp the whole story, its awesome.
I happened to see this episode... and now I'm trying to get all the seasons watched before season 5 comes back. It hooked me hard... Giancarlo Esposito deserves an Emmy nom/win.
@TheAdmirableAdmiral really? so you want the series to end? the whole point is that tio was too criminally honorable to actually talk to the dea. that's what made it so cool he just told'em off AND rattled gus. it was genius! your comment is simply retarded
@solargesture The series is going to end after next season but besides, Walt falls outside of the whole honor code being some no name chemistry teacher not part of the cartel, and tio clearly hated walt almost as much as Gus, he'd want to screw him over any way he could. and calling someone's opinion retarded is pretty immature but whatever, cheers.
This season started off kinda weak in my opinion, but it sure did end in the most bad ass way possible. The only thing I'm wondering is: What happened to Mike? And what happened with the Ted Beneke situation??
@HaggardNaggar yeah me too. what happened to good 'ol Mike? I was so shocked with these last 3 episodes, and especially when I found out that Walt had poisoned the kid, not Gus. Left me staring at the screen for at least ten minutes after this episode, thinking, holy frigging shit and most of all; where's season 5??????
I think that Season 5 will be about how Walt becomes the new Gus. Everyone thinks he is a mild mannered family man and a pillar of society but in fact he is just a cold hearted drug lord who kills people. I feel that is how it will end. I dont know what happens to Jesse. Maybe he becomes the new Mike, Walt's right hand man and bodyguard.
the explosion scene was a big surprise to me. when gus was about to inject hector, i was so tensed i was thinking like "what the hell was the plan? why is walt not shooting gus now?? WTF??" and then dingdingdingding BOOM! i was like O_O badass!!!
@raiden41x jesse said brock was poisoned by Lily of the Valley (flower). so yes. walt did it. thats what the final scene (showing the flower on walt's backyard) was about.
Before the explosion, the bomb was placed on the left of Gus. They should have shot the following scene from the opposite angle. Wrong half of the face is gone.
just saw the ending. this is the first time I'm not very lucky with this series. the death of Gus was really too exagerated. Some slasher shit. I don't get it. And also the final twist...pff...I really can't see how this all should come together. when did he poisened the kid? Why is the cigarette gone? I mean...does this really make sense to y'all? This is the first time the series moves towards something I would call eccentric.
@wonderlight3000 Check the fan made video where it shows exactly how Walt poisoned the Brock with help from Saul. Jesses ricin cig is stolen by Huell when he pats down Jesse when he gets to Sauls after Saul leaves the 6 messages on his phone in S4E12. Check out the video it converted me from doubt to it all makes sense ha
@neosoontoretro Perhaps it's the wrong expression. I'm german and I'm often searching for the right words. Let's say: Seeing Gus walking out of the room, adjusting his tie before he fells down with half of his face blown off seemed to me like watching some kind of slasher or marvel movie. It wasn't really a bad scene, but while the rest of the series had some sort of realistic feel, it seemed out of place to me. But sure, they wanted it to be a bit overdramatic.
@wonderlight3000 But this show isn't always known to be realistic. It has many scenes where it pays homage to action movies and Tarantino films. Sure the acting and emotional aspects make it seem so real and dark but every season always has about 3-4 of these homage scenes. That's why this show is so great because it knows when to keep things real and when to "show off."
@ReasonableDoubt881 That's all true. In the end it's probably more a matter of taste. I'm also not so much into Tarantino's movies. I appreciate gore and violence on the screen when it's real savage and realistic. Im not the one that's laughing about exaggerated and explicit violence that is meant to be cool. That's why I liked The Wire and Sopranos, but couldn't really get along with Dexter. However, the series is great and there isn't really much to complain about.
@wonderlight3000 They just gave you all the reasons it worked in this video. Maybe you should stick to a show more intended for you, like Spongebob Squarepants.
@onexero1 Why should I do that? Spongebob makes even less sense...Since you're not able, or you don't want to argue...i mean...just ignore my comments...Since now, nobody could explain properly, why there should be a reason for Gus or Walter to kill the kid...But...I mean...it seems you're a fan of Lost...maybe you're just happy with anything TV serves you...By the way, the third season was one of the best things I've seen since The Wire and Sopranos, and I wouldn't want to miss the experience.
Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) will be featured in the fifth and final season of the show. Just not in a very alive state :P. So no, he'll not be a zombie or anything.. but will still have a role in the show (according to Vince Gilligan)
@MrTelevisionclips Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I remembered hearing that they were dividing the last chunk of the show into two 8-episode seasons?
@MrTelevisionclips Yep, Giancarlo Esposito also hinted it. And perhaps have a final stamp on the series ending. But I wouldn't call that a spoiler, no sure thing yet...
@leslakos17 I hope you're right about that... that's the one unresolved issue that I'd really like to see explained. With Gus' death, though, you have to wonder whether perhaps Gilligan just abandoned that thread of the story. If they're going to have flashbacks, or anything that explains Gus' previous life in Chile, it will somehow have to have some relevance to whatever's taking place in Season 5. It'll be interesting to see how they do that, IF they do it.
@TroyOi he will absolutely explain us about chile that was the reason that mike stayed in mexico and didnt come to usa for not been killed by walt and come back to season 5 to explain gus issues with his employers ...mike is the only one who knows about chile
This is the most amazing show ever! The story, acting, everything amazing. Bravo! What the hell is going to happen in season 5? OMG I can't wait until next summer.
Lets put a sign with the name, "Lily of the Valley" for all the mouth breathing TV watchers out there that will not put the pieces together when they make the effort to zoom into a plant in Walt's backyard that he just spent an entire night sitting in as the final shot of the season. I hate commas btw.
Has anyone noticed that there is no hyphen in the title of the episode? It's just Face Off. Maybe they did that purposely as a hint of what was gonna happen to Gus ;)
The Camera link to Pollos saw everything, i'm sure thats gonna show up in season 5..I think Mike taking over initially is more likely than Walt as Walt will be wanting to "get out" like Al pacino in Carlitos way
Fuck I actually liked Gus,... he was the most badass mother fucker out there. Hopefully they don't kill off my favorite character, Mike... Fucking Mike.
@SlurpyJ I'm not sure; I was left with the impression that someone was covertly watching Walt as he was about to leave the parking lot. If you’ve saved BB on DVR, check out the scene; in one of the cuts, there is what appears to be a voyeur’s perspective of Walt and what seems to be almost undetectable pained breathing. Although it is ostensibly too early for Mike to be back on his feet, we weren’t a given precise timeline of the final events. I’m not sayin’…I’m just sayin’. :-)

I like Jesse because he's young and his friends are young and it's a pretty accurate for certain people in this generation, kinda like me exept I'm a horrible dealer lol I hate the way Walt fucks with him so much but Jesse doesn't see the full scope of what happened with Brock because of his emotions
chocolateballsack 3 months ago
I don't think Walt actually poisoned Brock, the series just fucks with the mind of the viewer yet again, just like when they have Gus walkin out fixin his tie before the camera swings over and shows his face off - its those brilliant moments that make BB what it is imo, you never know until it breaks bad, neither do the characters, theyre almost always confused, overreacting, panicked or plain uninformed and never grasp the whole story, its awesome.
2ndsB4 3 months ago
@2ndsB4 You don't think he poisoned Brock, but they even admit it at the end of this video...

so what happened to mike? did he die in mexic? i dunno if i missed that detail or they left it vague... anyone know?

I happened to see this episode... and now I'm trying to get all the seasons watched before season 5 comes back. It hooked me hard... Giancarlo Esposito deserves an Emmy nom/win.

Tio should have ratted walter or left a clue while talking with the DEA thereby taking out Gus and implicating walt the guy who led to tuco's death
TheAdmirableAdmiral 3 months ago
@TheAdmirableAdmiral really? so you want the series to end? the whole point is that tio was too criminally honorable to actually talk to the dea. that's what made it so cool he just told'em off AND rattled gus. it was genius! your comment is simply retarded
solargesture 3 months ago
@solargesture The series is going to end after next season but besides, Walt falls outside of the whole honor code being some no name chemistry teacher not part of the cartel, and tio clearly hated walt almost as much as Gus, he'd want to screw him over any way he could. and calling someone's opinion retarded is pretty immature but whatever, cheers.
TheAdmirableAdmiral 3 months ago
This season started off kinda weak in my opinion, but it sure did end in the most bad ass way possible. The only thing I'm wondering is: What happened to Mike? And what happened with the Ted Beneke situation??
HaggardNaggar 3 months ago
@HaggardNaggar yeah me too. what happened to good 'ol Mike? I was so shocked with these last 3 episodes, and especially when I found out that Walt had poisoned the kid, not Gus. Left me staring at the screen for at least ten minutes after this episode, thinking, holy frigging shit and most of all; where's season 5??????
thetoneranger1 3 months ago
I think that Season 5 will be about how Walt becomes the new Gus. Everyone thinks he is a mild mannered family man and a pillar of society but in fact he is just a cold hearted drug lord who kills people. I feel that is how it will end. I dont know what happens to Jesse. Maybe he becomes the new Mike, Walt's right hand man and bodyguard.

the explosion scene was a big surprise to me. when gus was about to inject hector, i was so tensed i was thinking like "what the hell was the plan? why is walt not shooting gus now?? WTF??" and then dingdingdingding BOOM! i was like O_O badass!!!

so did walt actually poison brock? sry im just a bit confused
raiden41x 4 months ago
@raiden41x jesse said brock was poisoned by Lily of the Valley (flower). so yes. walt did it. thats what the final scene (showing the flower on walt's backyard) was about.
itspennysboat 4 months ago

Check out the video it converted me from doubt to it all makes sense ha
stk32018 4 months ago
@wonderlight3000 Slasher shit? I don't get it.
neosoontoretro 4 months ago
@neosoontoretro Perhaps it's the wrong expression. I'm german and I'm often searching for the right words. Let's say: Seeing Gus walking out of the room, adjusting his tie before he fells down with half of his face blown off seemed to me like watching some kind of slasher or marvel movie. It wasn't really a bad scene, but while the rest of the series had some sort of realistic feel, it seemed out of place to me. But sure, they wanted it to be a bit overdramatic.
wonderlight3000 4 months ago
@wonderlight3000 But this show isn't always known to be realistic. It has many scenes where it pays homage to action movies and Tarantino films. Sure the acting and emotional aspects make it seem so real and dark but every season always has about 3-4 of these homage scenes. That's why this show is so great because it knows when to keep things real and when to "show off."
ReasonableDoubt881 4 months ago
@ReasonableDoubt881 That's all true. In the end it's probably more a matter of taste. I'm also not so much into Tarantino's movies. I appreciate gore and violence on the screen when it's real savage and realistic. Im not the one that's laughing about exaggerated and explicit violence that is meant to be cool. That's why I liked The Wire and Sopranos, but couldn't really get along with Dexter. However, the series is great and there isn't really much to complain about.
wonderlight3000 4 months ago
@wonderlight3000 They just gave you all the reasons it worked in this video. Maybe you should stick to a show more intended for you, like Spongebob Squarepants.
onexero1 4 months ago
@onexero1 Why should I do that? Spongebob makes even less sense...Since you're not able, or you don't want to argue...i mean...just ignore my comments...Since now, nobody could explain properly, why there should be a reason for Gus or Walter to kill the kid...But...I mean...it seems you're a fan of Lost...maybe you're just happy with anything TV serves you...By the way, the third season was one of the best things I've seen since The Wire and Sopranos, and I wouldn't want to miss the experience.

as if any one thinks Gus will survive those injuries. I pitty you for being so stupid.

Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) will be featured in the fifth and final season of the show. Just not in a very alive state :P. So no, he'll not be a zombie or anything.. but will still have a role in the show (according to Vince Gilligan)

@MrTelevisionclips in flashbacks .....we will learn in season 5 the back in chille connection
leslakos17 1 month ago
@leslakos17 I hope you're right about that... that's the one unresolved issue that I'd really like to see explained. With Gus' death, though, you have to wonder whether perhaps Gilligan just abandoned that thread of the story. If they're going to have flashbacks, or anything that explains Gus' previous life in Chile, it will somehow have to have some relevance to whatever's taking place in Season 5. It'll be interesting to see how they do that, IF they do it.
TroyOi 1 month ago
@TroyOi he will absolutely explain us about chile that was the reason that mike stayed in mexico and didnt come to usa for not been killed by walt and come back to season 5 to explain gus issues with his employers ...mike is the only one who knows about chile
leslakos17 1 month ago
Even if Gus didn't die, there's no way he'd survive with those injuries. The shockwave alone should've killed him. Gus is dead.

Lets put a sign with the name, "Lily of the Valley" for all the mouth breathing TV watchers out there that will not put the pieces together when they make the effort to zoom into a plant in Walt's backyard that he just spent an entire night sitting in as the final shot of the season. I hate commas btw.

SlurpyJ 4 months ago
@SlurpyJ I'm not sure; I was left with the impression that someone was covertly watching Walt as he was about to leave the parking lot. If you’ve saved BB on DVR, check out the scene; in one of the cuts, there is what appears to be a voyeur’s perspective of Walt and what seems to be almost undetectable pained breathing. Although it is ostensibly too early for Mike to be back on his feet, we weren’t a given precise timeline of the final events. I’m not sayin’…I’m just sayin’. :-)
