we have been trapping like that for since before my grand dad but we use a trap door on the top so we can reach in and grab the birds then we pen them and feed them cracked corn for a week ..it is easy to strip those birds by sticking your finger in the belly of the bird hook it under the ribs hold the legs and pull ,,the whole breast comes out with one pull .granny allways comes out to collect the feathers saying we waste to much she likes frying up the inards with gravy on biscuts

Step on the wings pull on the feet, all you'll be left with is the breast with the wings attached. Then all you have to do is break off the wings and voila quail breast mm mm good. That's what I do in the bush with grouse and it works like a charm!!

right kind of seasoning + wrap the meat in beacon and you can have yourself a great dish out of just catching animals in your yard. Money saving at its finest. That and can't beat the expression on your friends faces when you tell them its birds you caught in the front yard... Priceless.

Good video......pigeons are great eating......just taste like very large doves. Fry them like chicken and then simmer in their own gravy for about 30 minutes and you'll slap yo mamma for the last bite!!!

Nice trap idea, but wouldn't it be easier to set the trap if you put down the cig and lighter first so you have two free hands? Plus, you'd probably catch more varieties of game without that nicotine smell to alert all the li'l furry critters, but to each his own.

When you eat a hamburger at McDonalds, you eat meat from probably a few dozen different cattle. What do they use as cow feed? Mostly GMO corn, GMO soybeans, random waste products, poultry litter (chicken poop) etc. What do they supplement cows with? Bovine growth hormone, antibiotics etc. How is the meat cleaned? Irradiation, which can create carcinogens and destroy enzymes/protein. How is it packaged? Plastic mostly, which leeches after longer periods.

I knew a man who went to cattles auctions in my area who bought cows for McDonalds. Or at least he says he does. He only bought the most disgusting, infit, diseased, and deformed cows. I also knew a guy who did quality control on beef for fast food chains. He says Mcdonald's rarely passed.

Insect farming is easy, doesn't take up much space, doesn't require too many resources, and has a much higher yield for the investment.You can only eat so much of the body of a cow, chicken, pig, goat or whatever. You can swallow most grasshoppers whole.

First of all....eww, but I would do it if I had to!

Second.... Quail is the state bird, so illegal to kill......but I have heard good to eat. Fish & Game I am sure would enforce the law if they were to see, but they aren't usually trolling around the average neighborhood.

Still, I would rather go hunting & see if I could get a pheasant, duck, or other game, but there are expenses involved with that. I hope it doesn't come to this for most people.
