@AlchemicalSage What I do when I want to (have to) practice alone is to do the techniques alone and try to work on the footwork and check how I'm standing after the technique is performed. It's actually a pretty good way of practicing the techniques you have learned. To learn new techniques you will of course do it best in the dojo with your teacher. I will be third kyu soon and I still see myself as a newbie. :P
You guys need to grow a funny bone, these students are just enjoying their lives off the mat. I'm sure they took being on the mat seriously. And uh.. where is the mock Asian accent? haha, is that the part where they speak Japanese? How dare those foreigners mock "asian(s)" by speaking Japanese! Awful...
You know how I know these students take Aikido seriously? Because; Kevin was there.
@AlchemicalSage Tai sabaki and sometimes combined with weapons will keep you a little from getting "rusty" until youg get another chance to train ... Besides using gentle katame waza to sensualize XD
that's pretty lame how you act like being there is some sort of joke... and that female with the glasses on her head... grow up, and appreciate the things you get to experience. i would love to have been in your place on that day. Making the "typical" asian accent..??? c'mon, you should be ashamed of yourself.... grow up.
i understand having fun. but as your friend says "everybody and their brother and sister will have to say a speech before the STUPID THING starts". i can understand a slip of the tongue, but to participate in the all japan demo and call it STUPID is absolutely unforgivable. i live and work here in japan, and would never say anything that disrespectful. especially when it comes to having the opportunity to participate in the demonstration. very poor judgement in my opinion.
I'm quite sure Chris meant no disprespect. He's a first level black belt and takes the sport quite seriously. Think of it as a colloquialism. He meant it in jest.
racist prick, you think a comment like that is going to make anyone thing you understand the first thing about respect? people respect humility a lot more than they respect depricative showboats like you. good job giving the world an example of what NOT to aspire to.
nice video!

Yeah, I've been unable to practice by myself since leaving my dojo, so I'm not sure what advice I can give you. Sorry.

Rather than be at a important demo, these students act like they are going to the Comedy Club.
