Issue is really down to load appliend to new lintel , looking at design tables we were able to confirm that a shallow beam wold be sufficient.
creating a deepr beam on this job would have caused damage to the brick , right of the window, if you look close you will see the brickwork has already been repaired and the cut at higher level would have caused damage to the brick and been more cosmetically visible.
I was just wondering why is your guy on the video installing only 4 brick wide beam. Your standard detail says 'as wide as possible, up to 900mm'?!?! Clearly, there is enough space available for a wider / stronger beam, isn't there? Also, do you make good only with the grout or with a sand cement mix?
