The producers should had done an episode during the third season in which Penguin is angry at Barbara Gordon for not marrying and seeks revenge. Penguin sends Barbara a toy penguin which, when she winds it up, releases a poisonous gas. When the Dynamic Dup arrives and finds Barbara unconcious and barely alive, Batman revives her with the universal bat antidote in his utility belt. Batman and Robin then locate Penguin's hideout and, with Batgirl's help, defeat Penguin and his henchmen.

@cobra42029 It's a basic tragic flaw of comic book villains that they are always entirely sure of themselves. For that reason, they like to show off how not-likely-to fail their likely-to-fail plans are. It's the same reason that in James Bond movies every villain spends a few minutes trying to explain his plan to James Bond.

I think this is the first episode where the show takes a dive...Everyone kinda camps it up this season and it took away from the balance of the show. However, season 3 episodes still have there fun moments...Batgirl, very sexy...if a needless addition to the show.

One thing I hated about this season was they would end every episode with the next villan but then start the next episode out differently and not pick it up from where they left off. Many blame the inclusion of Batgirl for ruining the series, but I think it was the switch to single half-hour episodes. The two-parters gave more time to develop the story. This seemed really rushed and thrown together.

There's an episode of Batman where Robin's mask actually comes off at the end of a fight. It's in one of the Joker episodes. But in the next scene when they're in the deathtrap, Robin's mask is back in place.

@Jeff98177 That episode is the second to last one in season 2 called Pop Goes The Joker. Joker's punch to Robin's face turns him around and lands his mask in a sticky clay. When Robin lifts his head to get free, his mask is pulled downward then snaps back on his face resting on his nose. Notice after they show the women then switch back to Robin his mask is back in place with eyeholes cut out in the goop.

Cool seeing Burgess Meridith. He played the trainer in a couple of Rocky movies. I'm glad they basically followed the comic book's premise for Batgirl's origin unlike that stupid movie with Alicia Silverstone. Alfred's niece indeed! Those writers must have been on crack! LOL! If they introduce Batgirl in the current movies I hope they have learned from the other writers major blunder.

Jump the shark because of her? No way. It was fresh when it first started. Adding her was GREAT and in no way humiliating. Notice iy took 2 episodes to defeat the villian of the week and went to one episode because of her help

@bus114 Actually, it was Alfred who helped Batman and Robin escape;Batgirl was busy clobbering Penguin's henchmen. And the fact that the show jumped the shark during the shark during the third season wasn't Yvonne Craig's fault;it was a combination of dumb stories and cheap-looking sets that caused the show's demise.
