@grimblebrumble17889 9/11 was the single largest loss of British life in a terrorist attack, as well as American. I disagree with both of the wars, but there is no reason to object to a memorial honoring the innocent dead.

The US and Britain share a special kind of camaraderie. There are many monuments dedicated to famous Britons or British achievements, as well as a memorial service held for the British alongside the Americans in New York every year.

I think the special relationship stems from the shared language, culture, general ideology, ect, and is an inevitability when nations are so similar. (See US/Canada relations. At one point you did not need a passport to cross the border.)
