I remember that hit by Jaimie Fields @:13, just leveled that guy. He eventually became a police officer and was killed on duty approximately ten years ago.
What happen to Washington was that USC came back to prominence under Carroll, he kept the best California kids in California. Also, this is crazy to say, but Oregon got better also, which Nike pumped up with new uniforms and facilities, which took some other good former Washington strongholds like Califormia.
"Go dawgs 1991" I like the cool aid you"re drinkin! You are on it....What most fail to see is the incredible power of the human spirit when fed a steady diet of tough love/positive affirmation! and the incredibly dismal life sucking anemia of the winlessham regime...They are loading up now! Most will simply not see it coming ...until it happens...Then "they" all jump on the wagon and claim they predicted it all along! Funny little bandwagon babies! I see comeback team of the year! Bring it on!
supremescreamer1 -- I like your channel logo. Much better than the weaselly logo. Great video, too. Those were the days. Sigh... I'm confident that Sark and the new staff can get the Huskies back on top again.
Yeah the weasel logo is hideous. Luckily UW has officially stopped making gear with that logo. A new logo (along with new football uniforms) are currently being worked on. This time it's the athletic department that is designing the logo.. not Nike (weasel logo).
Sark will bring in Juco's from California who can play right away. The Huskies have always been my second favorite in college football behind USC and They are moving. Washington fans, order season tickets and fill the place every saturday. We will see you guys in late September.
Good luck to the Dawgs in 2009! I am a lifelong Trojan fan and season ticket holder and can only say that brighter days are ahead for Husky football. The energy Sark and Nick Holt bring to the football program will be off the charts. Three years and you will be in the top three in the PAC 10. It wont happen overnight remember the 2008 team was perhaps the worst team ever that was a member of a bcs conference and it will take time to rebuild
@nancinmofo Why is it that USC actually knows how to show respect and to UDUB who is actually their little brother but teams like WHoregon klucks think they're above both of us!?! Haha this is to beating the fuck outta the klucks this season!!
The huskies will be much better this year. With the freshman from last year more experienced, getting new strength coaches, a whole new coaching staff, and JC players to fill immediate needs, we should be back in business.
U-Dub was the sickest program, Steve Emtman is still probably the best defensive tackle I have ever seen till this day. I miss the huskies from the 90's, even mid 90's era players like Brock Huard and Corey Dillon who still holds the ncaa record for rush yards in a single quarter with 225 or something close to that. The name of the song is Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. The version you are hearing is a remix done by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, I believe you can find it on itunes. Go DAWGS
i'm michigan and i miss the way Washington was in the ealy 90's, i'm a state fan. Fuck the wolverines, but i did find a sweet 1991 Rose Bowl Shirt. Anyway Jake Locker is my favorite QB he reminds me of Drew Stanton of Michigan State. My top three qb's are Bradlee Van Pelt, Stanton and Locker. I remeber in 91 when you playe Wash you were going to get an ass kickin
As a UW graduate of 76, I have witnessed the up and down of Huskies football team for the last 30+ years. Never have I seen such a miserable season of 2008. I attended the ASU game last November and noticed the lack of 'excitment' and 'intensity' of the Huskies players - missed tackles, wrong blocking assignments etc. I hope Coach Sark could restore the past glory of the Huskies football soon. GO DAWG.
The ebbs and tides of college football. We'll get back there....sometime. The stadium will get fixed at some point, Sark seems like he's going to get us some talent, we'll get there. Gentlemen, keep the faith. The Dawgs need the fan power more than ever. Purple and gold forever.
mann look at thease guys, there sooo happy man if i could go bak to 91 i sure would.
im a huge huskie fan, im 13 and wasnt even born yet but my dad alwase tell stories about the huskies. i wish that they could come back next season and go to the rose bowl like in 1924, 1926, 1937, 1944, 1960, 1961, 1964, 1978, 1981, 1982, 91, 92,, 93, and 2001
...and I'll be honest, at this point in the season, you could lose the rest of the way out, and still win the Apple Cup, and I'll call it a success. Ugh.
Seatown, you are free to hate USC all you'd like. Just make sure you hate Oregon more, and WSU more beyond that. I don't think the Cougars would notice how much you hate them though, they're busy losing to Cal by 63.
Mine would go: 1)WSU 2)WSU 3)Oregon 4)UCLA 5)Stanford 6)Cal 7)USC 8)Oregon St. 9)Arizona 10) Arizona St. (Not that I like them, they just aren't good at much of anything, thus, less competition)
Absolutely we expect greatness! You listen to KJR and you get calls in after every loss "I'm jumping off ship" and "This is the final straw." But I'll be honest with you, I just live with it. My words won't do much. I am extremely disappointed. This can destroy a program. A bad team has a hard time recruiting good players. I wouldn't say Mora is out of reach either. He said he'd leave a mediocre (yet thriving at the time) Falcons team to coach here, I'd think he'd leave a mediocre Hawks team too
besides USC UW is the second best team in PAC-10 history, and because of these last few years people have seemed to forget that. we need a coach that lets them be themselves and tyrone doesnt let that happen. by the way i hate usc, just stating "a fact" if u want to call it that, they piss me off.
It's so disheartening to hear things like that. I don't blame Tyrone completely, but man, this sucks. I wanna go back to bragging to EVERYONE that my team destroys your team. (Granted, I'm 19 years old now, I was in elementary school then, but I remember doing it to classmates and teachers :D)
I vote Olin Kreutz retires, becomes the O-Coor. Steve Emtman for D-Coor (get some linemen in there for some smash-mouth football again), and have Warren Moon call the plays at head coach.
Lane Kiffin might be alright, but I'd much rather have an Alumni to get the program back on track. (Don't ask me who because no one worth having is available)
Pinkel would be #1 on my list, but I doubt he'd leave Missouri right now, and now Mora is impossible to get because it's already official he's the one replacing Holmgren for the Seahawks.
I really like Warren Moon actually. He was a Dawg, played pro, but hasn't retired like a lot of players do. He's stayed in football, watched the game progress, and still knows today what's going on and how the game is played. I think he'd be a great head coach. He's loved in Seattle, and by Huskies. Players would respect him, coaches would listen, etc. I don't think it's a long shot either cause I think he'd take it, personally.
There's no doubt that Warren Moon would be a great head coach, but he's unproven because he's never been a coach before. But I agree, Warren Moon probably would be good for us.
Yeah, it may be true that he's unproven... but we're down 10-0 to the Wildcats right now. A Pac-10 rival. We lost to Stanford last week. Seriously, how much worse can it get? Taking a chance on an obviously talented football veteran, not to mention Alumni, wouldn't be a bad idea at this point. It can't get any worse.
...and just for the record, Tyrone Willingham is a great guy- A great coach too, he's just not doing well with our school.
Yeah, it's definetly time for a change. Losing to Arizona 48-14 and starting off 0-5 is unexceptable. We expect greatness at UW, not mediocrity. Warren Moon has experience of playing on a great team, his experience as a player would be great for this team right now.
sorry, Billy Joe was a piece of crap! Brunell led that team to where they were, he just happened to get hurt and they never put him back in . . .and look who still is throwing in the NFL. GO DAWGS!!!
Could you be even more stupid? Ty Willingham is the right man for the job. Not even Pete Carroll could have turned the huskies around after the mess Nueheisel and Gilbertson left. Tyrone is doing a great job recruiting and he's good at disiplining the players, he doesn't allow his players to be cocky and have bad grades. They did an interview with Don James, Jim Lambright, Scott Linehan, Rick Nueheisel, and Keith Gilbertson, all say he is the right man for the job.
It looks like you are the one that is stupid. Willingham is 11-27 at Washington and like 6-22 in the Pac-10. Willingham's career record is like 76-78-few ties and he has one Bowl win. That is horrible. He is paid to win football games and he will be gone after this season if he doesn't get this team to a Bowl Game. Quit making excuses for a piss poor showing on the field. Fans like you are going to turn this football program into Duke. Stop with the excuses. He sucks as a coach.
You know what else is funny? Watching Neuheisel get a signature win in game one against Tennessee while using like his fourth string QB. Willingham has been here four years and still doesn't have one. You know that 1991 team that is in your handle? They were cocky and there's nothing wrong with it. The Huskies don't play with passion anymore and it's because of Willingham. Tedford took Cal from 2-10 to 7-5 in year one and Zook had Illinois in the Rose Bowl in year three. Willingham is horrible.
Dude... I never realized David Duke was a U-Dub Husky fan... I am as Caucasian as Wonder bread, but damn brother... take off your white hood... Its not Ty's fault fat-ass Gilbertson ruined the program..... BUT, Ty HAS to get this team to a bowl game... or he will be fired..
Ty needs to get the job done this year... But you got to remember, he took over Gilbertson's mess.... That man absolutely ruined UW in the short 2 years he was here... If U-Dub can get to a bowl game (ANY BOWL), I think Ty keeps his job. I am on the East Coast as well, and plan on traveling to see my dawgs if they go bowling...
Them were the days when UW was recruiting top notch players and they were coming.Ty did a good job with this past recruiting class. How do you expect to turn the team around with the BULLSHIT recruits that the last coach brought in.
The most clutch run for the 12-0 season came from Beno Bryant at 1:11. I dont believe we win that game if he doesn't bust that one. The Pac10 was very strong that year but we killed every team except Cal.
I saw the 91' huskies against Stanford (and everyone was shocked that BILLY JOE was that good) , Cal (best college game in person i've been too) and the rose bowl.
Great video. Makes me want to sit down and watch the games we taped from the 91 season. That 54-0 stomping of Arizona was pretty funny. The 31-0 whitewash of USC in 1990 is pretty amazing too. Best college defense of all time, the 90-91 teams.
The 1991 UW HUSKIES, my favorite college team of all time. 3 the STANFORD, CAL, and the ROSE BOWL ASS WHOOPIN on MICHIGAN that year. Thanks for putting this up! Please don't delete this!

Great video. Makes me want to sit down and watch the games we taped from the 91 season. That 54-0 stomping of Arizona was pretty funny. The 31-0 whitewash of USC in 1990 is pretty amazing too. Best college defense of all time, the 90-91 teams.
