I would change the thumbnail image for this video. It doesn't look very appealing. As a matter of fact, it has a bit of a repulsive look. I almost didn't click your video because of the thumbnail. Aside from that, great tips for making preserves.
i just made my first strawberry homemade jam i used about 11 big strawberrys and sliced them added them in the saucepan let them cook 5 mins then when i saw liquid i added the sugar but my sugar was 100 percent cane sugar anways i cooked it for 15 more mins and then i put the whole pan in my fridge for 1 hour and ate it all lol it wasnt so bad but it was realllly runny was it from my sugar or did i not let it chill enough or was i suppose to add sugar earlier?
@melaners lol maybe but it could of been because i didnt let it set in the fridge long enough i only let it set for like 2 hours my next batch i let it set over night in the fridge it turned out alot better :)
It's not hard at all, it's actually very easy once you memorize the process pipeline. It won't spoil unless your fruit is spoiled to begin with. If your fruit is fresh and free of little rotten spots, it will turn out fantastic every time.
I thought this would be a good idea to make money around the neighborhood but i consider it too much work/man loving if i tried to sell it plus its too little income
making jams is not a daily thing to do...just make it everytime you feel like you want it...it's enjoyable..but be sure you wouldn't contaminate it and follow proper procedure because it's really hard to handle food..
All you guys have to do is buy jam and then re-use the jam jars when the fruit you want to make some jam of is in season. I wouldn't call this an everyday thing, but rather a special activity to be done when you have exceptional fruit or a desire to do something special.
u gotta watch out when doin this stuff if canned improperly botulism toxic can grow ive heard a story of a woman who canned her preserves wrong and sticking her finger in 2 taste the stuff gave her enough botulism to kill her within lik 2-3 hours
yea that's why they recommend not using any that showed any signs contamination. also, there's like 1/2 hour or more worth of boiling involved so if done properly, no one should get botox.
This video should be called how to make a prophet

How do you know is your jars are good for canning?
What do they mean by canning?
pointeskatecybunny 1 year ago
@pointeskatecybunny I think they just mean jars that have been previously used for food (e.g pasta sauce jars).

mm, I love fruit preserves, I eat it by the spoonfull :9
I'd like to make some of my own though, once I grow strawberries (lets hope they grow big enough this year!)
I accidently got some with high fructose corn syrup in it, so it made me sad :(

it was quite runny because you need to boil it for a bit longer. sorry if this reply is a little late (:
